I only have 2 frustrations with Ultimates.
1. Store exclusives. I know, I get it, its a necessary evil. but I shouldn't have to hit up 8 Walmarts a day just to find 1 set of Bret and Piper. I swear only some Walmarts around me got them and they only got 1 case. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just order them from the Walmart app but that's a whole other disaster.
2. That damn super buff torso. It ruined what could have been a decent Eddie and Angle. There's been such a small handful of guys who it works for that I can't understand why they haven't used the Rollins/Rude torso more.
I can forgive little things like choice of cloth goods, or some wonky head sculpts or even a lack of a title if I can get one good look out of an Ultimate. The fact that Legends are getting phased out of the main line is fine by me. It gives my wallet a break. God help me whenever its announced where the Muta will land though. Gonna need like 5 of them lol.

Speaking of UE’s the Amazon Survivor Series set is now down to $56 and there’s also listings on Amazon for just the Gooker for $31. If you just want the Undertaker it’s better to buy the set because by himself he’s $45 so for $10 more you can get the Gobbledy Gooker and the egg to. Just saying for those who have been holding off. They're both cheaper on Ringside right now.

I had today off and fighting a cold so I caught up on the hardest working and absolute best youtuber KP videos today. One he posted a few weeks back he mentioned that he didn't think the Ultimate Line felt quite as special as it used to. I agree, ever since they took the legends out of the main line I know I don't find myself looking forward to the next series announcement like years past. I mean we only get eight Ultimate Legends a year and all eight are store exclusive, half go to Target and the other half to Wal Mart. I think legends should at least be in every other main Ultimate series. So KP says it's not quite as special as it used to huh? Then why does he need three of each MNW Ultimates of Piper and Bret Hart? Enfuriating

I can’t understand how corporate can say certain stores won’t carry something. And it’s been that way for years. My area stores for years didn’t carry Mattel’s DCUC after the first two waves. I had to drive an hour north or down into NJ to find a WalMart that carried them. When I asked my area’s store manager why they didn’t carry them I was told Corporate didn’t put them on their planograms. And when they would try and order them from the warehouse for me on their handheld the order would be cancelled by the warehouse system as soon as it was placed. And now with McFarlane’s DC lines it’s happening again. My three closest WalMarts just did their resets and McFarlane’s DC Multiverse figures and Super Powers lines have been dropped from those stores. So if I don’t buy them from McFarlane’s store or online retailers like Big bad I have to drive an hour north or down into NJ for them. And of course if it WalMart exclusives I’m driving. And like you said it wouldn’t be an issue if the Walmart App actually carried them for retail cost and didn’t allow 3rd party sellers on there.

Ultimates definitely felt like a "special" collection at one point, but now they're just making everyone on the roster, and multiples of everyone. It's definitely watering down the appeal for a $35 figure that comes with almost the same amount of stuff as an elite Extra heads and hands are NOT a huge selling point for me personally...you can only use one head or pair of hands at a time Look at the recent set, Series 21...Gunther comes with the same see-thru soft goods coat as his last Elite so you're essentially paying $10 for an IC belt and 2 heads. Jey Uso? even worse, you're paying $10 for 2 heads and the samoan lei and cena you're paying $10 for 2 heads and that little towel accessory forget the different body type, those molds are created and paid for already Ultimates cannot possibly cost that much more than an elite when they are re-using so many parts. When the line was first introduced it seemed like they were going to be able to just make truly PREMIUM versions of legends, etc. Like the Ric Flair, you know that figure would never fit in the budget for a regular elite wave. Now they're just more expensive figures with a few extra goodies that 90% of us either sell or put away in a ziploc I love Ultimates though, the presentation and look of them are very nice. But they absolutely do not feel "special" any more I agree 100%. When I saw Lesnar and RVD RA EU, I start feeling UE less special. No Paints for brock, no ecw and suitcase for rvd.
Buuutt, could we agree that Yokozuna is special? Multiple heads, accessories, title, robe... I think it's a real EU figure!

Because I already have to deal with the people from T0y w!x grabbing the stock from my area Targets and Walmarts. Their warehouse is right behind the Suffren NY WalMart.

As hardcore collectors, we've got to stop complaining about not getting OBSCURE LEGEND #243 as much as I personally (and others) want them. There are a ton of fans of the current product and they deserve to get their favorites in Ultimate form too. I say this as someone who only collects legends with the Mattel line but it is so annoying/off-putting/almost arrogant when people come on here and are like, WHY DID WE GET BIANCA BELAIR AS AN ULTIMATE INSTEAD OF DUKE THE DUMPSTER DROESE?? A lot of collectors here need to come to Jesus that the answer for 90% of their questions is "because it wont sell enough". Why aren't there more women's figures?!? Why aren't there more NXT figures?!? Why won't they make Dino Bravo?!? Why does this need to be a multiple pack?!? Why does this need to be a store/online exclusive?!? I could go on for days... As for the main topic, no shit. It's a mass produced toy like, the whole "premium" or "special" aspect of it is pure marketing, not reality.

Over here we’re competing with The Wrestling Universe and other specialty stores like it that buy up whole waves for their stores. Kyle is just one guy.

I love the line, but it's not a bespoke experience or anything. It's mass market. We've gotten a few things we couldn't get at other price points and I'll always be grateful for finally having an official Asuka robe, but the budget-minded approach was inevitable. I'm just happy we're getting a lot of different names while the line is viable. Also, I have no idea who Kyle Peterson is, but there are like fifteen sublines through which to get Legends. "I Agree with Kyle Peterson" sounds like the worst bumper sticker ever Well yeah because almost no one will know who that is and will probably assume it’s some middle age dude with a podcast where he makes edgy political takes. Kyle Peterson sounds like the name of a guy who eats a diet of raw liver because doctors don't want you to know.

I think they’re overhyped by this community and lot of the ones made are unnecessary. Not every talent really needs or benefits from UE. That being said, I buy the ones I like and skip the ones I don’t.

I never really looked at it as special - more or less felt it was a higher price point figure to develop new tooling and molds for accessories that have now become somewhat common within the regular Elite line. It's served that purpose very well and will probably continue to.
As much as I like the elaborate looks like both Flairs, Seth and Asuka with the detailed robes, my favorite figures from the line are still the fan takeover HBK and both Razors, which you could argue could have probably been elites.

Kyle Peterson looks like a regular sized Hornswoggle which is why I refuse to watch any of his reviews Way to attack someone for their appearance. Shame on you -- hope the moderators kick you out, and personally, I also hope you're ugly as hell. Looks aren't something we can change, they're something we're born with, and even for a wrestling figure forum, your comment is revolting.
What?! He's not even ugly! I just don't wanna look at him on screen for 90% of a video when I'm watching figure reviews. I didn't realize he was born with AJ Styles hair and a beard. A very impressive neonatal feat!

Unless you’re implying Hornswoggle is ugly, did he even really insult the man? Maybe he finds Dylan a little attractive and a bigger version of him is way too much to handle.

UE is the better figure overall. But i agree they need to step up their game with better accessories and better selections. I only collect UE basically now. with elites filling holes where needed. There are some torsos that just look and fit better with most , like Flair, Hall, Nash, Hogan, Rock, HBK...etc...
when compared to elites its almost not even a contest looks wise for me.
But elites have made it hard to justify UE buying , i def agree there. they kinds messed up giving Elites almost equal parts and accessories.. whoever made that decision basically nullified there own premium product UE figures.

What if I told you…the UE line was never special to begin with … UE figures have never been good. Overpriced, ugly action figures.

as someone who only collects ultimates (and the #1 mattel wwe line: superstars) I just want and expect the best possible figure of the wrestler -- the "ultimate" version. that's what is enticing and makes it special. when i pick up that 1998 austin, that is representing the ULTIMATE version of 98 Austin, 97 bret, 96 hbk, etc. that is all i care about. i'm honestly not sure what difference it makes that legends are in separate lines within "Ultimates" instead of mainline, but what doesn't make the line special is mindless stuff like the kevin owens height issue.
