I think it’s a nice set. All 3 figures are good, but there isn’t enough interest outside a small community for High Chief or Rocky Johnson. The Rock is not enough for casual fans to drop $70. I think the Samoan set will face the same fate.

I'd buy The Rock in a heartbeat. I'm just not paying for the full set.

I remember harping on OP early in this thread. I am eating crow now. This is a certified dud set.

Roman and his dad and uncle may end up beating it.

These seem to be multiplying. 4 turn to 6 then 8 and I think there were 10 at one location. Figures do look good tho

Roman and his dad and uncle may end up beating it. Even without the chicken legs and average-joe bodies they likely would have...

I like actually being able to find an exclusive, peg warmer or not. Maybe they made too many of these, but I'd much rather be able to go to Walmart and see actual stock instead of empty pegs.

Honestly, between this, the TNFT set, the response to the Smackdown set, and what I am guessing will be an absymsal turnout for the Wild Samonas set, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that these multipacks aren't going to be made much longer. The whole reason we were told they weren't making multipacks is they don't sell. Guess what, they still don't sell.
They won't keep going much longer.

The character and/or design choices are horrible. They deserve to not sell.

What is even funnier for me, when this Maivia 3 pack was first mentioned, sooooo many on these here boards were already scrambling for the next legacy/family 3 pack and a vast majority at that were the Steiners. If this Maivia with The Rock 3 pack won't move, then certainly your precious Steiners won't. Sorry but even though to today’s generation of fans he’s the biggest name in the set the Rock figure is also hands down the worst figure in that set. Nobody cares for the Rock in shorts and loafers. That look was a total waste of a spot. I don’t even remember where I put that figure after putting the other two on my shelves.

I don't know that I ever saw the set actually at Target. * The Hogan 3-pack seemed to sell through pretty quickly, and that's just 3 versions of Hogan.... I think the odd distribution and figure-selections are keeping these sets from performing better.

Yeah I know there wasn't enough of a Time window to do it, but I can almost guarantee that if "Final Boss" Rock had been in that set with the other Maivias, those sets would all be gone by now. So what you had was fans seeing the awesome "Final Boss" Rock on TV..... and a $70 set with a shorts/loafers Rock in stores....

Not that it matters, but I want the set, but can’t afford to buy a three pack. What makes is even worse is that I’m in the UK, which makes obtaining it even more costly. Plus after selling most of my collection 3 years ago and starting up again about a year ago, I’m waaaaay behind.

I’ve got 2 Walmarts in my area, and when I first saw this set at each location a few weeks ago one had 6 and the other had 3. As of yesterday neither have sold any more. I’m not in a wrestling-heavy location like a NY or FL, though being less than an hour from Baltimore and DC I’d think we’d have some more old school collectors than that. Checking in after a month: the location with 6 sold 1 the week after I posted. So now there’s 5 at one and 3 at the other. Maybe I’ll update in August if this thread is still active 😅

I’ve bought a ton of dumb things that I don’t need in my lifetime. I’ve overpaid for a ton of dumb things that I don’t need in my lifetime. Even I wouldn’t pay 70 for that garbage. If it got clearanced, it could become another dumb thing that I own.

Whenever there is a Q&A there is always a question about ‘pre wrestlemania’ talent / ‘territories’ or whatever you want to call it….I feel confident in saying that less than 1% of Mattel customers want figures from that era. The Rocks Family legacy set has warmed hard and Roman / Samoas will also warm hard ESPECIALLY at that price point.

Glacier, Mortis and Wrath would do better without the anchor talent. Rock and Roman are way overdone and if we’re talking toys then there are way cooler looking figures than someone’s dad and uncles to go with them lol

I think the Wild Samoans would sell so much better if Roman Reigns wasn't in the set. I'm not saying no one wants him, but it seems like we get a new Roman Reigns figure every month. I'd be more than happy to pay $50 for a Wild Samoans 2-Pack, but won't be buying it for $70 just because Roman Reigns is thrown in there. Chances are we'll be able to find it on clearance eventually. That's what I'm waiting for with the Maivia Fam 3-pack. A Walmart near me has 7 or 8 of them collecting dust right now.

Is the rocky Johnson attire in this set from the same time period as his first release? Just trying to decide if I can fit in him on a different shelf to the first release or if to put one in storage.
