i got nhl 08 2 days ago and i love it. in my dynasty, maxim afinogenov has more fights than my actual enforcer, andrew peters lol. but im 10-4 in dynasty so its all good

Man, Jason Blake is tearing crapup. In my Leafs dynasty, Sundin, Poni, and Blake are just clicking so well on the top line.
I traded Stajan to Washington for a pick and picked up free agent Mike Johnson. He was on fire when I first signed him, but cooled off a bit.
Kubina's a machine. McCabe blows. Toskala and Raycroft are 'meh.' I plan on trading one and calling up Clemmensen or Pogge.

Which is better for PS3: 08 or 2k8?
2k7 was better last year, but, you guys are saying a lot of good things about 08 this year...
So...I just need some opinions on which to pick up.

I don't think anyone here got it for the Ps3. Ps3 version runs at 30fps though for 08. But the controlling on 08 is much better than 2k8. |

I got the last 360 copy at EB Games. yeah, but, when i pick it up. my buddy will most likely want his 360 back, and then i'll have to wait till i get mine back ive only played the demo on 360 of this. though, last nite i played 08 on ps3. it wasnt the best imo. maybe its cuz i wasnt used to the ps3 controllers |

I had a tough battle getting into the Playoffs, and that was helluva fun. I really enjoyed that alot...
I went up and down the standings, and finally i just got into a winning streak, and got 6th, im totally pleased. :-D
now im gonna play Game Four against Florida Panthers!

I made the fights rarely happens, it's pointless anyway. So it's freshening whenever a fight occurs.  |

And just like that, Toskala and Raycroft are putting on amazing performances each night. They're make it exceedingly difficult for me to trade either one of them.

Just started a dynasty with the Pens. Ended trading Gonchar for Vermette and trading my 1st draft pick for Redden. First game beat the Canes 6-3 then lost the next game to the Ducks. They ended up winning it in the S.O 4-3.

I've come to the conclusion that I just suck donkey balls with the skill stick, so I went back to classic controls and started my Rangers dynasty. I've played 2 games thus far...my first game, I lost 6-4 against the Panthers and I won my 2nd game 2-1 in OT with a Michal Roszival slap shot from the point. Here are the lines I'm using right now:
Straka-Gomez-Jagr
Shanny-Drury-Prucha
Avery-Dubinsky-Callahan
Hossa-Betts-Hollweg/ Orr
Malik-Roszival
Girardi-Tyutin
Mara-Hutchinson
Lundqvist-Valiquette
I really wanted to have Marc Staal in my dynasty, but I couldn't wait any longer for a roster update.

I love how it's actually possible to score from the point this year. I could never score with the 'D' in EA games.
Toskala pretty much ended his own stint as a Maple Leaf. In a game against Nashville, we were up 4-1, but mid-way through the third, he decides to let in 3 goals on like.. 5 shots. So I yank him and throw in Raycroft. Raycroft stands on his head for the last few minutes and then plays solid in OT before I took Blake up the ice and bury home the OT winner.
So I tried Toskala one more time in the next game against the Rangers. same deal. We're up 3-1. In the third, he lets in two goals in three shots. Raycroft is put in and stops everything. Then Sundin scores, and Kubina puts away an empty netter (his hat trick goal) and we win it.
So I'm pretty much finished with 'Tusks'. Raycroft wins the starting job. They both started off average, but Raycroft has probably been the best goalie in the league for the last half-dozen games he's played.

Yeah, dude...I love the point shots and how you can actually cycle the puck now. Last year, it was IMPOSSIBLE to cycle the puck in the offensive zone, as the defense would just swarm you all at once.
Also, I've had shots from the point get deflected, which is really cool. Gomez scored in my first game when he deflected a shot from the point from Roszival pass Vokun for the goal. I love that new feature.
My only complaint thus far is like you said...the uneven goaltending. The AI goaltender is 1,000x better than my goalie, no matter who it is.
