Good end of year review. Nice to see how Angle and Albright got a good match of the year contention.

December 28, 2007 The show kicks off with Mike Tenay and Don West welcoming everyone to the last Impact of 2006. They ran down the card, and put over the announced matches of Final Resolution, saying that it will be the show that sets things in motion for the biggest time period in TNA history.
AJ Styles vs Sonjay Dutt This one was a good fast paced opener, but it didn't last a particularily long time, as Styles avoided a standing shooting star press and nailed a Styles Clash for the win. Winner: AJ Styles
After the match, AJ Styles grabbed a mic, and said that was why HE deserved the contract for a title match anytime he wanted, not Christopher Daniels.
Abyss vs Monty Brown This was just a fun little brawl, they fought around the outside for a while, before bringing it back into the ring, where Brown surprised everyone, defeating Abyss with his own move, the Black Hole Slam! Winner: Monty Brown
Angle Assaulted Kurt Angle was in his locker room, relaxing, talking on the phone, when all of a sudden, Scott Steiner ran in the locker room, and began assaulting Angle with a steel pipe! Steiner cracked the pipe over Angle's head, busting it open, and then he suplexed Angle onto the floor. Steiner left the locker room in a hurry.
Tomko vs Mystery Ally The surprise ally of Christian Cage turned out to be Samoa Joe. Tomko tried to get Joe with a big boot several times, but it was avoided, and a muscle buster put Tomko down, and he then tapped to the clutch. Winner: Samoa Joe
After the match, Bernard tried to attack Joe, but was fended off by Christian Cage, and Bernard and Tomko both suffered Unprettiers for their efforts, leaving Christian Cage as the man standing tall for the first time.
*A video package played, hyping Team 3D's accomplishments. It ended by showing Team 3D, where they announced that the tag team title match with LAX at Final Resolution would be a Tables Match, and that they were finally going to add the NWA Tag Titles to their resume.
X-Division Championship Austin Aries vs Kazarian Kevin Nash accompanied Aries to the ring, and Matt Bentley came down with his partner. These two started kind of slow, using more holds and powerful moves than X-Style stuff. After a while, as Kazarian tried to mount a comeback, Nash took out Bentley, and then got on the apron to interfere. The referee stopped him, but allowed Austin Aries to hit a low blow. But before Aries could go for a 450, Jerry Lynn ran in through the crowd, into the ring, and leveled Aries with a chairshot. Lynn got out of the ring, and ran around at Nash, chasing him off. The referee turned focus back on the matc,h in time to see Kazarian drape him arm over Aries, getting the three. Winner: Kazarian
Sting & Brent Albright vs Jeff Jarrett & Rhino This was a decent main event, Albright was isolated by Rhino and Jarrett, until the hot tag was made to Sting, but Scott Steiner interfered, causing a DQ. Winners: Sting & Albright
With no Kurt Angle to help, Steiner, Rhino and Jarrett easily dominated Sting and Albright, destroying them. To end Impact, Steiner and Jarrett each raised one of Rhino s arms, and Rhino had the title around his waist.

Sweet Kaz is X-Division champion, looking forward to seeing where you head with him. Great to see Lynn and Lynn/Daniels should be fun as well. The show overall was good and the card and build towards FR has been good as well. Rhino/Angle has been built nicely and should be a great match. I'll send my votes to you in a sec as well. Keep it up.

Impact Preview January 4, 2007
TNA welcomes everyone to the new year with the first broadcast of 2007, and the second last Impact broadcast until Final Resolution.
We have learned that on Impact, Kevin Nash will be addressing his FR match with Alex Shelley, as well as the appearance of Jerry Lynn, which ended up costing Austin Aries the X-Division championship. What will Nash have to say, and will we see Jerry Lynn again?
Now that Kazarian is the new X-Division Champion, who will his first challenger for the gold be? His partner, Matt Bentley, will be in actino against Senshi in x-division action.
AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels both want to get their hands on the contract that gives them a world title match whenever they want it. Jim Cornette has promised to address this situation on Impact. In the meantime, these two former allies team up to take on the Naturals.
In the main event, after viciously attacking Kurt Angle last week, Scott Steiner will have to face him in the ring, it will be Angle vs Steiner. Much more will happen on this huge broadcast!

The card for Final Resolution looks awesome. In the main event, im going to have to go with Rhino. For the other matches, Im not so sure. However, I think Christian and Samoa Joe have my pick. Impact sounds good. However, the main event sounds like it would suck but lets see how it goes. Reply to TNA 2008?

Kaz as X-Division champion is incredible, hopefully he gets a great run as champion and you give him some good opponents. I marked for Lynn's return, and a Lynn/ Aries feud could be awesome. Final Resolution looks awesome, and Hopefully Rhino, Shelley and LAZ get the wins in their respective matches. Not too sure on the final match, although I am leaning towards Joe getting the win.

Match of the Year Austin Aries vs Alex Shelley vs Chris Sabin II - Turning Point
Superstar of the Year Rhino
Tag Team of the Year Team 3D
X-Division Performer of the Year Austin Aries
Best Debut/Return Rhino
PPV of the Year Turning Point
Who to Watch in 2007 Brent Albright January 4, 2007 Nash's Challenge Kevin Nash came down to the ring with Austin Aries, and said that it was a travesty that Aries lost the X-Division Title last week, and he called out Alex Shelley and Jerry Lynn. The two came out onto the stage, and Shelley said that Lynn was the REAL founder of the X-Division. Lynn said that he wasn't going to sit around and watch Kevin Nash run this show. Nash then issued a challenge; At Final Resolution, the Nash/Shelley match keeps the same stipulations as it already has, but is changed to a tag team match. Nash & Aries vs Shelley & Lynn. Lynn and Shelley accepted to the delight of the crowd.
Senshi vs Matt Bentley Decent match, showed off both competitors merits. Senshi went for the double foot stomp, but Bentley avoided it, and hit a big tornado DDT for the three. Winner: Matt Bentley
After the match, Bentley met up with Kazarian backstage. Bentley said that he has always been there for him, and that he was asking him as a friend to give him the first chance at the X-Division title at Final Resolution. Kazarian smiled and said yes, and the two shared a handshake.
AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs The Naturals Very one sided match, with Styles and Daniels trying to constantly out do one another. Daniels was going for the BME on Douglas, but Styles tagged himself in, hit the Styles Clash, and got the pin. Winners: Styles & Daniels
Cornette Steps In Post match, Styles and Daniels began arguing on who should get the Title Match Contract. Jim Cornette made his way down to the ring, and told them both to shut up. Cornette said since they drew in the battle royal, at Final Resolution, it would be Styles vs Daniels, one on one, winner gets the contract.
Backstage, Monty Brown was flirting with a couple of girls when all of a sudden, Abyss came out of nowhere, attacking him. Abyss had his chain with him, and began choking out Brown with it, until Brown was left helpless on the floor.
Brother Ray vs Shark Boy 20 second squash. Ray hit the Brother Bomb for the win. Afterwards, him and Devon cut a promo, saying they were walking out of Final Resolution the new tag team champions. Winner: Brother Ray
The Peep Show - Guest Tomko The Peep show debuted on Impact, with Cage inviting Tomko as his guest. Christian tried to get Tomko to leave Bernard and join him, saying they had a past history, that they were close. Tomko said he wasn't interested in joining Cage, as it wouldn't benefit his long term interests. Then, Bernard came in through the crowd, and him and Tomko started beating down Cage, but Samoa Joe ran down with a steel chair, scaring them off to make the save.
Bobby Roode vs Local Jobber Roode came down in new tights, and a leather jacket, with dark sunglasses. He was announced as "The Badass" Bobby Roode. He made quick work of the jobber, hitting a backbreaker into a Samoan drop combination to get the win. Winner: Bobby Roode
Kurt Angle vs Scott Steiner This match went on for a while, both men going back and forth. Angle eventually locked in the nakle lock, forcing Steiner to tap out. Winner: Kurt Angle
Career on the Line Post match, Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, Sting, and Brent Albright all ran in and a massive brawl ensued. Security swarmed the area, and held everyone apart. Jim Cornette came down, sand said that he was sick of seeing stuff like this every week, and that at Final Resolution, there would be a fatal fourway. Sting vs Albright vs Jarrett vs Steiner. Whoever gets pinned in the match is fired from TNA!

You missed match of the year in your end of year analysis, but anyway the awards were great.
Impact was good as always, your shows are always a short, simple but effective write-up. I marked for the debut of the peep show and what it lead to, great stuff there. Like Roode's gimmick change as well and hope it leads to a big push for him. I liked the main event aftermath and the match made for FR. FR is looking sexy btw.
Overall great stuff.

Another good IMPACT, and i liked the end of year awards. The peep show was excellent, and a great way to build up their feud. I like Nash/ Shelley being changed to a tag match, it should make for a much better match with Aries and Lynn in it. Turning Point is looking good, and the fatal four way match is huge, should be a great match.

January 11, 2007 The show opens with Mike Tenay joined by Jim Cornette at the broadcast booth. They begin by saying Don West suffered a mild heart attack on Sunday while filming a commercial for the shopping channel, and will be gone for a while. They start pumping everyone up for quite possibly the biggest impact in history.
"The Badass" Bobby Roode vs Lance Hoyt Roode got a decent pop, and in this short match, Hoyt took Roode down with a big boot, and went for his moonsault, but Roode avoided it and hit a reverse DDT to get the win. Winner: Bobby Roode
James Storm vs BG James A better match than most would think. Only went for 5 minutes, but all solid. James ducked under a superkick, and went for a DDT, but Storm pushed him off and nailed the superkick to get the pin. Winner: James Storm
Samoa Joe was backstage being interviewed by JB. Joe said that at Final Resolution, after Tomko and Bernard were history in everyone's memory, that he would finally be able to focus on winning the world title. Christian Cage then came on screen, and said that Cage was also going to be gunning for the gold after Final Resolution. The two had a small stare down, before agreeing that they should focus on the tag match in three days time for now.
Bentley & Kazarian vs LAX This was a hell of a match, everyone showcased their talent, all needing momentum for the PPV. Ultimately, Kazarian was able to nail the Wave of the Future on Homicide after Team 3D came down to ringside, distracting LAX. Bentley and Kazarian celebrated, with Bentley looking at Kazarian's X-Division belt the entire time. Winners: Kazarian and Bentley
Team 3D and the LAX started brawling after this, but with homicide hurting after the wave of the future, Team 3D easily got the advantage, and Ray and Devon took down Hernandez with chairshots. They set up a table, and to the delight of the crowd, put Homicide through it with a 3D.
Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt & Jerry Lynn vs Petey Williams, A1 & Kevin Nash Not the best match, but the crowd enjoyed it. Lethal looked most impressive, almost putting away A1 with an elbow drop of the top rope, but in the end, Kevin Nash caught sonjay Dutt off a springboard, and planted him down with a jacknife powerbomb to get the win. Winners: Williams, A1 & Nash
A video package hyping the Sting/Jeff Jarrett rivalry played, showing highlights from their Bound for Glory match.
Sting vs Jeff Jarrett This was fairly short, but emotional. They tried to put each other away early, Sting attempting an unsuccessful scorpion death lock, and Jarrett an unsuccessful stroke. The referee was knocked down, and Jarrett hit a low blow, and a guitar shot. Just like Bound for Glory, after the guitar shot, Sting just stood there, and flexed his arms, pissed off. Sting hit a couple clotheslines on Jarrett, and went for the Scorpion Death drop. But Jarrett spun out of it, taking Sting right into a stroke to get the victory, stunning the crowd. Jarrett celebrated, and said that in 3 days, Sting's career was going to be over. Winner: Jeff Jarrett
5 on 5 Elimination Match Kurt Angle, Brent Albright, Abyss, Alex Shelley, AJ Styles vs Rhino, Scott Steiner, Monty Brown, Austin Aries, Christopher Daniels Elimination #1: Abyss after getting DQed, hitting Monty Brown with a chair. Elimination @2: Monty Brown by AJ Styles after a corkscrew moonsault, taking advantage of Abyss's chair shot. Elimination #3: Austin Aries after Angle countered the brainbuster into an Olympic slam, and locked in the ankle lock, making Aries tap. Elimination #4: AJ Styles after Steiner countered a styles clash attempt into a roll up, and Steiner grabbed a handful of tights. Elimination #5: Alex Shelley after Rhino blocked sliced bread #2 and then follows up with a gore. Elimination #6: Brent Albright, after Angle attacked an interfering Jarrett, and Rhino and Steiner connected with a doomsday device. Elimination #7: Christopher Daniels, by DQ after repeatedly attacking Angle with a chair, busting him open, and leaving him helpless against Rhino and Steiner. Elimination #8: Scott Steiner via pinfall. Steiner and Rhino beat down on Angle for several minutes, but Steiner tore off a turnbuckle cover, exposing the metal ring, and Angle rolled him up, surprising him. Final Stretch: The final two were Angle and Rhino, the men who would be facing off for the gold in just three days. Kurt Angle was severely exhausted after going against the last three on Rhino's team alone, and his head was bleeding badly. Rhino was playing with him, and then started getting serious, but somehow, couldn't get the pinfall. Angle just refused to die, and a huge break came to him when he dodged a gore, and Rhino went into the ringpost shoulder first. It was the same corner with the exposed turnbuckle ring, and Angle noticed, and took Rhino, lifting him up, and dropping him head first onto the ring. Angle nailed an Olympic slam on Rhino, and got the three count, having single handed defeated three men by himself, and eliminating 4 of the 5. Winners: Team Angle
