The fact that Dibiase never was champ is a complete joke to me, it just doesn't make sense. Hall and Dibiase are the only ones in that list that i could actually see carrying the company, and for some time, they did. When I think of the WWF in the 80's, i think of 5 guys. Dibiase, Hogan, Savage, Andre, and Piper. There were so many missed opportunities with both Piper and Dibiase.

Yeah, like a few have said, Piper would have made a great heel champion. However, what about 'Mr.Wonderful' Paul Orndorff? I've read a few times that a lot of people rallied for him to take the title off Hogan but Hogan wouldn't put him over. Food for thought there.
Also, Arn Anderson is a great shout. Great in ring and he could cut a good promo too. He would have been a great fighting champion.
From the Horsemen as well, what about Tully Blanchard? I personally think Blanchard could have played Flair's role had Ric Flair never been a wrestler. Blanchard had the look, the in ring skills and a whole heap of charisma.
Someone else who's not been mentioned, Bam Bam Bigelow. One of the best big men workers the business has probably ever seen. As far as dominant big men champs go, Bigelow would have been one of the best IMO.

While think all of the choices above probably deserved it at one point or another, Hot Rod is the BEST to never win it.. And I also think Rick Rude should be thrown into the conversation..

All of those guys in the poll should have been champion at one point. But, I think the most deserving would be Mr. Perfect.

Bam Bam was ECW champ...
And I love that Hennig is still getting so many votes, considering it's been established by multiple people that he was a world champion at one point.
Had Hogan not held it for four years straight, then Orndorff or Piper probably would have taken it, at least for a while.
Bulldog's only realy shot was either in WCW or when he turned heel, but it happened neither time, and would not have made much sense at any other point in his career.

I'm genuinely surprised that none of th guys listed never got a major world title reign. Here is where someone has to chime in AGAIN that Curt Hennig WAS a major World Champ. It really helps if people actually read the other posts. The AWA World Title really was a major championship back in the 80's (Hennig was Champ in 87-88). Sure, it was always the #3 belt behind the WWF and the NWA World Titles, but it was a pretty big deal back when.

Yeah, I remember Bam Bam being ECW Champ, but I think the theme of this thread is more aimed at being WCW or WWF/E champ. Not that I'm degrading the ECW Title, because it was a world title after all, but not at the same level as the WWF/E or WCW.
