Finally watched Your Name. Holy. Sh*t. My heart. It hurts yet is so happy.
If any of you haven't watched this masterpiece yet, and have an hour and a half to spare...do yourself a service.

This man speaks the truth. I watched it last night. A half hour or so in I was wondering what everyone was freaking out about but then it definitely take a turn. It's a slow build but one it gets going... wow. That's all I can say any this film and that is absolutely high praise. Your Name is something that everyone, especially people who don't like anime should see.

It's a slow build but one it gets going... wow. That's all I can say any this film and that is absolutely high praise. Your Name is something that everyone, especially people who don't like anime should see. Yep. I mean, the description explains the basic plot. Body swap. The first half hour is them figuring out what the hell is going on. But after the swaps stop and he goes to find out why...yep. Takes a massive turn in all the right ways. I went into it knowing the immense praise it had garnered, some even saying it rivaled Ghibli for Japan, and SERIOUS Pixar/Disney for the West. Naturally I scoffed. Miyazaki is a master of the game, and PIXAR are arguably the best beginning to end film company out there. Boy, did I learn my lesson. The twist was confusing until your brain puts everything together. Up on the mountain when he's beginning to forget, you have a pretty good idea that it's gonna end on a cliffhanger if not a bad end. Then the train scene. The ing train scene. It was 1 AM and I was losing my crap by that point. The film didn't help my early baldness, the build, but shoooooot. Brilliant in every way.

About a girl who's deaf and is horribly bullied by a boy in her class, to the point she transfers out. Fast forward ten years or so, that boy has been the subject to torture from bullies at his school, only for that girl to transfer into his high school so he's desperate to make amends. It's a beautiful story. Not as visually stunning as Your Name, but the story is arguably better.

Also, I'm very sad. The two anime I loved for the spring are now over and I dunno what to watch. The Rising of the Shield Hero and Midnight Occult were both great in their own way, but I'm gonna be VERY ticked if we don't get a second season of Rising, or if we do the quality drops off a la Sword Art Online as those kinds of anime tend to do.
Watched two episodes of Demon Slayer last night which is the summer "blockbuster" show to start holding me over while everyone and their mother patiently awaits the fall season so My Hero Academia can come back. I'm open to suggestions, something I don't often say 'round these here parts.

Demon Slayer: Pretty good. I also picked up Magic Grandfather, which is a funny little series. Not something I'd seriously recommend, but nice for a rainy day.

Manga wise, I'm on volume 11 of Tokyo Ghoul :re so I'm basically all caught up now and just waiting for new volumes. I'm addicted.
Speaking of addiction, I finally found copies 13 and 14 of The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, so those are next on my list.
Mega series wise, after I wrap up those three, I will probably finish Takane and Hana, and crack openy Claymore box set.

Unrelated to the quote, but this is just a tag. Finally changed my name to anime related. Watch this clip, and my new lock GIF, and you'll understand. #UltimateDespairAdmin

So I’ve been given a list of anime’s to watch because my lack of knowledge was embarrassing at Comic Con over the weekend, seeing as I didn’t know of anything that wasn’t Dragon Ball or Naruto related lol. I’ve started with Tokyo Ghoul, is there only 4 seasons so far? There are 2 on Netflix, I’d probably need Crunchyroll or something to watch the others I’m guessing 🤷🏽♂️

Tokyo Ghoul:re so far has two seasons. Dunno if Sui Ushida can go too much further with the manga. Ken's story is nearing Goku/Yugi levels of pulling random crap out the hat to come out on top. That's when it's time to end it.

Can anyone explain why it's so dang hard to find the second half of a two-part DVD anime series?
Took me a year or two to find the 2nd season of Stand Alone Complex with the first season being online for less than $20.
Took me a few months to find the back half of Parasyte, and paid nearly double what the first volume was going for.
Now I'm having mega trouble locating a Region 1 DVD set to finish Akame ga Kill. Ridiculous!
EDIT: Found a cheap listing for Vol. 2 on Crunchyroll but it doesn't list a Region. Worth the chance?
