Me and Mikers did this long ago. Broke the 4th wall, had people (for a second) believing we had real beef with eachother in the GD and such, saying how I was a better writer than her, etc etc.
It got s**t on, but I mean, a one off show? I can't see a downside. If it's a flop, it's a flop. If it's a success, we do one once a year or twice a year, etc etc.

Thank you, Mesh, and thank you Cam. Yours was the better roleplay this go round. When you're ready, let's go round two.
This was fantastic! Mason has a win, Maxwell Dachs is intriguing, and we have found the answer to who was the better person, Frank Lynn or Thunder. It was a super close call, and let's just say I'm glad I didn't have to make that call. I wouldn't know whose I would've picked!
Thanks everyone. I hope my next RP comes out better, and I can start being more consistent. Especially with my plans.

I had about 9 hours on the road this weekend. and I really wish I hadn't been actually driving, because weird head space meant Phillip Schneider was along for the ride. cutting promos in my head on what he's been up to. in downtime at work this week, I've been trying to put thought to computer to translate these promos and bits into something, if just to save for down the line. Thought I killed that demon for good, but apparently I just sent him to Columbus, Ohio and managed to pick him back up on Saturday Oh boy, I'm glad you posted something. I forgot completely that I need to message you. There's always tomorrow right? |

Yeah, I thought this was just kind of 'there'. I think it's good that you're taking the advice of your peers and trying to put it into execution. The problem I think I had was that, against your last piece, this feels like a sharp deviation. We saw such a loving, amicable relationship between your primaries the last go around. They had their disagreements, but largely, they're able to talk through them. Now, DK's punching walls and having psychophilosophical arguments with his ten year old son, much to the chagrin of his wife, with the root causation being...something to prove? I dunno. I've said before that I'm a pretty harsh critic of the whole psychological/neurological disorder trope because it's sort of a frequent reality of mine, but in a medium such as this, where you have the added benefit of interior exposition at your disposal, I think you're going to need a larger tipping point to really sell this move. That's not to say it can't be done, but just in the here and now, I don't think it's there yet. Dialogue, I think, should be a going focus of yours moving forward. You've got a number of different voices at play here, and ones that shouldn't cross are teetering on doing so...namely the ten year old. He can be a prodigy for all I know, but he's still a kid, and right now, he reads like an adult writing a kid voiced by an adult. You can get there, but it's going to take more than what less than total attention can afford you. I get all of this, and I understand. I try to think of myself at 10, but I've been told I grew up real quick, and truth be told I kind of had too. So maybe my hindsight isn't 20/20 with that. I'll start using my little 7 year old brother. I'm sure that'll work, right? Or be close enough? I'm going to try my hardest to work in dialogue. It's my main point of weakness. I wish I could write like guys like Drakz and Kyzer, Mesh, Rich, You, Shawn, all of them. I wish I could write like you guys. I don't know if it took you guys this long to grasp it or not, but I'm hoping the ship hasn't sailed for me yet. Thank you for the feedback. |

I'm excited. No matter the outcome of my match, I like getting better and I know this RP, granted nothing drastic happens, I'll do better since I have a better and refreshed mindset. Late fall will be rough, though. Seasonal Depression is truly a bitch Depression is no joke. Please don't ever feel like you HAVE to participate. Taking care of yourself mentally is super important and I'd rather have all of you at 100% when it comes to writing. Understandable, but passing up a dream match? Nah. If you recall, I didn't even want the Shannon match at first, I was gonna do a vignette for SuperBrawl but I was roped in, and I could never complain. It was fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was a dream match. I may have lost, I may have won, but no matter what, to quote Dolph Ziggler... IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME! |

Understandable. Sometimes the best stories are told over time and not in a one stop shop 😉 While very true, it is also a good way to lose a match as each RP has to stand on its own as an entertaining piece of writing. Judging isn't based on a body of work, it's based on a single piece. Sometimes planning for tomorrow means sacrificing today. The best writers on WFWF find ways to do both - tell a good short story and have it be a piece of an even better longer story. Gotcha. I will try to take that and learn more on telling a good story but not blowing the load first show. If it means I sacrifice a loss this show, it's okay. I'm fine with that. |

Gonna the honest, while there wasn't anything wrong with this there also wasn't much that stuck with me after reading it. The hook of DK having mental issues that required professional attention was almost too subtle for the over the top world of the WFWF. Compare DK's "breakdown" to something Drakz might have that results in him throwing a dog out an 8th floor window and putting a gun to his head - you see what you're up against? Again, there wasn't anything wrong with the RP. It just didn't grab me and hold my attention as much as your previous stuff. Understandable. Sometimes the best stories are told over time and not in a one stop shop 😉 |

I now recognize that my concern last year with it taking 10 days to make a simple mod switch so that King Richius and I could get the fed back on track was overblown, as it's now been a month since I agreed to take up the reins again, and I'm still entirely incapable of doing what I do best here. I'd like to offer up a solid timetable in terms of getting the show up, but with how bombarded I am playing catch up at work right now, suffice it to say, this show's probably going in the overarching spirit of WF as a whole, in that it'll get done when it gets done and not a single second sooner. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Deadlines are merely suggested guidelines. As long as our special outdoor show isn't taking place in the dead of winter I think we'll be fine. Also, who works today? It's an international holiday. Wait, it it isn't? Well it should be. Happy Birthday to me! It w as a real struggle to get to this one (52 for those who care) and I can't make any toasts with my left arm but I'm a righty so it's all good. Happy birthday!
