At the time I remember being really bummed that we didn't get an elite of Cody in this attire (though I'm grateful we got the masked/coat attire as an elite):

Guessing it will be the highest-priced elite line available, so probably Entrance Greats? Makes sense to me for such an in-demand figure.

So what’s the verdict on the shirt? The Pros: The collar and the sleeves are much thinner than the EG shirt. There is a stitch along the collar, but it does not come across like a turtleneck. It is the softer material. Closer to the BITW Punk shirt. The Cons: It's a tad too big. And because of that, it kinda bunches up. That causes the molded kilt to pop open on the sides when you move him around. I rigged mine a bit with the clear gum-bands that come on certain figures. Better now. Shirt looks good but man the "Hot Rod!" font is way too big and stands out to me. Glad they're using shirts like the E16 Punk, I liked that fabric/cloth/etc., but looks like the EG Piper shirt is more accurate to me? I might use that shirt with this figure when I get it.

Anything post-2006 to today. The last decade of PPV's have been horrible and just a blur to me as most are unmemorable. Sometimes I get the years mixed up and think events that happened in one year actually happened in another year. It's been a dark period for me and is most likely to continue being a dark period for me. I'll take anything pre-2006 even the PPV's considered bad like King Of The Ring 1995, Wrestlemania 9, Wrestlemania 11 etc. over anything that came after 2006. Except for December To Dismember 2006. I agree with that one. They screwed that one up badly after the awesome ECW One Night Stand PPV's. ECW was no longer EC f'n W anymore. I 2nd this. Not trying to hijack the thread but as someone who was down on the modern WWE product for a long time, I must recommend checking out New Japan. 2017 New Japan will go down as one of the absolute best pro wrestling years of all-time; historians/experts have been bringing up 1989 WCW comparisons. Trust me, it will reinvigorate your passion for wrestling. It did for me. To say all wrestling is bad these days is to say all music is bad ... pop music (WWE) might be down, but there's always something good if you look hard enough for it. Back on topic: For WWF, King of the Ring '95, Mania 11, In Your House 4 (man oh man watched it a few months ago, awful)

According to Flair himself, he had an arrangement with McMahon that if he ever stopped using Flair as a top level main event guy, that he would give Flair the heads up about it and a chance to leave the WWF. That is the short answer. Flair wasn't going to be used anymore as a top guy because Vince McMahon was going to go with younger stars. Bill Watts had been calling Flair about going back to WCW for a while. I also want to say that Flair would have been part of the booking in WCW, which he had no control of in WWF. Something that is interesting about this time is that Jim Ross in the summer of 92 had started floating rumors of Flair going back to WCW on his 900 line. The WWF decided to put the title back on Flair almost the same time. Around this time Warrior was lined up for another run with the title. So Flair gets the title from Savage but drops the title to Hart because they want another baby face champion and with Warrior gone, Hart was the one to get it. So if you think about it, if Warrior didn't go all "Warrior" and the WWF went with the original plan of having Warrior win the title, it probably would have been a Warrior-Flair program going into 93 and who knows if Flair goes back to WCW when he does. He would have eventually but it would have maybe been delayed. I've always heard this first paragraph to be the reason. Vince was all about going with the youth movement in '93, hence the dramatic changes from '92 (arguably the end of the golden era) to '93 (beginning of the new generation). He and Flair had the agreement that if Ric wasn't going to be in the main event he could go back to WCW and Vince was ready to go with what he felt was a fresher, younger direction. (I still think any company would and should find a way to keep somebody like Ric Flair around no matter what, but '93 was a weird time -- even if I'm particularly fond of the year because it's when I got super into wrestling. And knowing how plans always change, surely Ric would be back in the main event eventually. Oh well.)

Also I'm really glad I'm not dying to get anyone from E56 right away cause those prices are definitely way higher than usual.

$25.99 for Kurt is GREAT news for the EG line, but I'm sure people will find a way to complain anyways. It's just replacing DMs.

Sucks for overseas collectors but if it's this or no flashbacks, this is the way to go. Clearly seems like Bill has found a way to get us some of these flashbacks that we want when maybe there weren't other options that retailers were willing to take on.
I'd much prefer non-exclusives because even for us in the U.S. they're a pain to find. I'll probably end up buying them online at a mark-up instead of hunting one store time and time again, so it's not that different for me personally than if I were overseas. Can't win 'em all.

Yeah whatever you do don't get the actual loose figures signed. I have no idea what some people do that, looks ridiculous. Honestly I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you have something you can grab online MOC for a decent price on ebay (like Bundy's Mattel figure isn't that much, etc.), that's an option. (I actually have a second one MOC available, though that's not the reason for my reply here.) If you get a figure MOC signed be sure to get a sharpie paint pen and prep it beforehand. They look 1,000 times better than a normal marker on a figure.
If you don't have anything special all the wrestlers will have 8 x 10's available. I've gone to my fair share of conventions, etc., last year I got some Mattel figs autographed and Mean Gene was also there and I didn't have anything for him so I got an 8 X 10 auto and to my surprise is looks really, really great. At all the ROH/NJPW shows I've gone to I've just got their 8 x 10's autographed and have a nice little collection of those. No need to force it if you can't think of something that you would like better.
Edit: Reading your responses to the LJN posters if you're not feeling it don't do it, especially if it will bug you that you didn't get previous ones signed. I've got a bunch of LJN posters and honestly I think as far as looks go a nice 8 x 10 glossy photo would look way better than the LJN poster autographed, but that's just my opinion.

Can we get some legit NJPW figures already? There's a billion action figure companies over there. Come on, Bandai!

His opponents made no sense -- specifically Sid and Mabel. You've got a guy who's supposed to be a monster, so they pair him up against people as big if not bigger. It's the same mistake they made with Vader by pairing him up with Yoko when Vader came to WWF. I'd have to think a little more on it but I binged 1995 again a year or so ago ... basically you just need to balance the matchups out with smaller, more athletic opponents. Owen, HBK again (their final match before Diesel left for WCW I watched for the first time a few months ago and it's incredible), maybe Hakushi with better booking, etc. Needed more athletic guys who could bump and make him look like the monster he was supposed to be, not put him up against other monsters and make him sell half the match.
(It's actually a problem that WWE sometimes still struggles with today with big monster babyfaces (cough, Reigns, cough). They take a monster heel and once he turns make him sell too much instead of sticking with what brought them to the dance in the first place. Stone Cold is the perfect example of not changing his in-ring psychology from heel to face and it paid off BIG TIME.)
It's also the same concept that HBK said if he were to return (even though he won't) he could see himself having a really great match with a guy like Samoa Joe, that would jump off the page to him instead of a similar type of worker like AJ/Dolph/etc. that people often want to see him with. Opposites attract!

Love Hogan but I think there's a reason why a lot of these guys weren't around in the Attitude Era. Bret's my all-time favorite but he would have been sorely out of place in 99 or 2000. Same with Hogan. Timing was right when he came back later on.

Hey if he's young he wouldn't know because due to copyrights Voodoo Child isn't on the Network as far as I know. I'll say even though it's one of the best classic rock songs of all-time (and the best Hendrix song) it's great for NWO but good guy Hogan in WWE should always have Real American, so I'll agree with his main point.

"How much does that guy weigh???"
'93 and '94 for me. I love everything about that mid-93 transition time ... Bret's matches, Hogan still there but leaving, Yoko's rise ... when I really got into wrestling. '94 is super underrated and Owen is awesome in it, Bret/Diesel match great too.
Watched '96 for the first time in many, many years the other day and it's amazing how uneven that show is despite all the (deserved) praise for Austin's promo. The tourney matches at the PPV are throwaways, Warrior/Lawler is garbage, same with tag match. But Taker/Mankind is incredible and Michaels/Bulldog is also really, really great. And goosebumps watching Austin walk up that stage before the promo, his presence is incredible.

Charlotte is the best WWE figure I ever seen in my life. 10\10 absolute perfection, nothing wrong with it. Its not an issue, but I wish she had two open hands to do the pose she does but not a big deal I agree. It's seriously in contention for best Mattel figure ever, it's that good.

I wish there were more flashbacks too but honestly I'm OK with this recent burst of modern figs. If I were a kid I'd be pumped right now, and the modern elites were lacking a bit in quantity, I can admit as much. Plus I'm saving some money at a time when I probably should be saving some money, lol. I do hope that it will come back around though and sometime within the next year we get a heavy dose of flashbacks again. As annoying as it is once a month to see "Should there be a new flashback line?" threads, I'm ready for a 4-figure, once a quarter flashback line to solve all of our needs. Just do it, MDT.

Is this a dead line? Feels like we should have seen something new by now. I believe they just showed Kane again at nycc Guessing it's done. I've gotten into a lot of the Figuarts/overseas lines in recent years and they won't hesitate to stop a line after a couple if it's not flying off the shelves. TMNT looks to be done before Shredder and they even showed a prototype for him.
