The Collector's Edition got leaked Pretty cool if legit (seems to be, and I've heard that the source also predicted the Bayley teaser minutes before it was uploaded). I'm pretty happy if it's true, because it'll be really nice to see Chyna in the game. I might not ever play as her, but I know what it means to a lot of people to have her in. I'm also pretty glad to see Hogan back in, not gonna lie. I don't want to see him on my TV, but I want to see him recreated in his prime in the game, because of how huge of an icon he is. I won't be buying the Collectors Edition, but hopefully they do a Deluxe Edition again with the bonus content included.

I'm happy to see it a day earlier than anticipated. Looking forward to watching it again in full HD tomorrow as intended. I'm pretty sure they also promised screenshots, so I look forward to those. Snippets of Becky's new entrance looks pretty cool. I'm super thrilled that Becky seems to be one of the cover stars, and almost just as thrilled with the fact that they're going back to multi-superstar covers. Sure, I'd prefer around five superstars on the cover, but I'll settle for two.

Really excited for the Monday reveal! I suppose it's slightly better this way, with radio silence until August with everything being released at once, as opposed to gradual tiny nuggets of information before getting first glimpses of gameplay in September, as I seem to recall it being the past couple of years. Those screenshots look pretty nice, though it's bothering that it looks like they still haven't fixed Bayley's banner tron.
Can't wait for the gameplay and cover reveal on Monday!

I honestly hadn't realised, but it will be a real shame to not see it return. I absolutely loved both tournaments, which were both a high point of the year.

Wonder when we'll find out the cover athlete...can't wait. Who's your picks? I've got New Day, Balor, or Becky. I think given her insane popularity from Summerslam-WrestleMania, with the game's roster focusing on the beginning of the year, it'll be Becky. I would really love an ensemble cover again though. I really don't see why they only go with one superstar when they could fit at least five on there.

Usually I only watch one or two of the YouTube clips, but last night's SmackDown Live had so much good stuff!
- The Town Hall segment was really good and felt really fresh. Wouldn't mind it becoming a weekly segment for the next couple of weeks, provided they can make it feel different each time. - Glad to see Charlotte back. - Absolute YES to Liv Morgan being given TV time!!! It's been a complete joke that they haven't used her in 3 months on TV, despite significant fan support. Having her challenge Charlotte was a good move, makes her feel important straight away. From what footage they uploaded to YouTube, I thought their match was pretty good, and the amount of offence Liv got in looks like a good indication for there being solid plans for her. Obviously there's no way she should have beaten Charlotte Flair at this point in time, but she had a really good showing. Her post-match words were very intriguing as well. What could this mean? - It's great that they're giving Ember Moon a title opportunity, but am I the only one who doesn't think she really feels like legitimate competition? Her main roster career has just been so mediocre, capped off by an awful feud against Fire and Desire, that I'm just not really that interested in the match, when I should be, as a fan of both. Had they built her up beforehand, it wouldn't be this way. - R-Truth continues to be comedy gold. - IIconics VS Kabuki Warriors had a sensible outcome which fits their characters, but Asuka looked like a real dumb dumb for just staring at Kay as she stayed outside the ring, despite the referee counting all the way from one to ten. At least when the Kabuki Warriors win the titles at Summerslam, it'll feel like a bigger moment than if it had happened on weekly TV.
I think I'm right in assuming that this was the first show under Eric Bischoff. So even though this was a good show, I'm expecting the quality to plummet back down from next week, as it always does whenever WWE has a new direction. Who knows? Maybe Bischoff will be the first to break the rule that's been established numerous times this year.

Thanks to that ending, Extreme Rules was a poor show.
Brock won the Universal title yet again, despite the fact that LITERALLY NOBODY WANTS THIS!!
No Sasha Banks return, despite strong hinting last week that Bayley would have a friend to help her. At the very least they should have had Carmella come out to even the odds. What is the point at hinting at something and not capitalising on it? I can only hope that they're saving Banks' return for TV this week for a fresh build towards Summerslam. From her social media, there are multiple elements implying that she's ready to return, and now is the perfect time. To clarify, I'm aware that it's not fair to criticise Extreme Rules for something not happening which wasn't advertised in the first place. But I for one have really missed watching Sasha Banks on TV every week, and her presence would certainly get my eyes back on the product. It just seemed like Extreme Rules was the perfect place for her return, and it really looked to me like it was going to happen. My own fault for getting my hopes up.
Honestly, the ending ruined the whole show for me. Every time I tune into WWE to see if they've gotten a clue, it's made clear that they still don't, and I'm given more reasons to not bother. I really don't know how WWE have completely lost the ability to tell compelling stories. Thank god there are good alternatives in 2019, AEW has really come along at the perfect time. Unless WWE get a clue of how to write a compelling show again, I'll continue to not give the company my full attention or buy tickets. Of course I'll still watch the weekly short YouTube clips of my favourite superstars like Becky Lynch, Bayley, Heavy Machinery, Aleister Black, etc. But I'm not watching every single segment and match on each show like I would a few months ago. Unless the main roster product improves, I'll continue to only pay full attention to NXT, NXT UK, and AEW.
Just to add some positivity and make it clear that I didn't come into this thread purely to bash WWE, I enjoyed Aleister Black VS Cesaro, and I really liked the ending to AJ Styles VS Ricochet. Corbin giving the End of Days to Lynch was a cool spot. WWE needs more intergender wrestling if they want to be genuinely progressive (and especially if they want to one-up AEW).

Overall, I thought it was a solid show. I didn't think any of the matches were all that memorable, and of course the main event is simply too long to ever sit through again. But no real problems, unlike Fyter Fest. I really liked that the entrance music was clear and clearly audible. I know Kenny had a big problem with that at Double or Nothing, so it's good to see that they are not only listening, but fixing problems.
The new edit of Kenny's theme is good. The full thing is simply too long to get into for a wrestling entrance, so it's good that they've cut it down to be concise.
MJF mocking Shawn Spears with the Perfect 10 taunt and flipping him off was great! Big surprise to have Awesome Kong show up as Brandi Rhodes' backup. It was a nice plot twist, clearly establishing Brandi as a conniving heel, having played Allie before the match. Good step, considering AEW has had such a big problem so far in establishing faces and heels. Another big surprise, the staredown between Aja Kong and Awesome Kong was a great moment. Definitely want that match at All Out.
Luchasaurus has such a unique look. He's so good, so versatile. Guy is a star.
Justin Roberts announcing the time remaining during each match is really distracting, takes me out of the moment. If they're going to have time limits, at least do an on-screen timer instead? There's simply too much audio-wise going on in a match already, with commentary, the crowd, the action in the ring. Adding another layer of sound that really doesn't need to be there is a bad move. Makes it difficult to stay focused on the match at times.

I wonder if any UK viewers would be able to help me out. Now that this show has finally been released in the UK, I seem to be having trouble finding access to the episodes. I had believed they would be uploaded to the Vice YouTube channel (up until now I had no idea they had a TV channel), but that isn't the case. Episodes 4 and 6 are being repeated in the near future on Vice, but none of the others. I know I can find the episodes unofficially uploaded to YouTube, but they're all poor quality. Is there an official source where I can watch these documentaries on demand?
Thanks in advance.

It's always a very interesting prospect of how Warrior would have fared, had he stayed with the company throughout the Attitude Era. During his 1996 run, he had already made changes to his character to update it for a different audience (wearing a cap, using profanity). I'm sure he would have made further changes to fit in, had he stuck around. To me, Warrior's 1996 run will always be one of the most interesting "what ifs". So much unrealised potential.

Just got done watching Fyter Fest. Overall a solid show. Enjoyed it for the most part, though I did identify a few problems. Here's a few notes I made throughout the show regarding my personal opinions. Although it may seem like I'm complaining more than anything, if I enjoyed something, I won't have felt the need to comment on it: - It seems that every single tag team match is trying to steal the show. I get that they want to show what they can do, but you can't have every single match stealing the show. Big move kickouts are only effective when used sparingly, and so far in AEW, they're ridiculously overused in tag matches, and they've only done 2 shows! - It's not clear which teams are face and which are heel. They need to clearly define it for those of us unfamiliar with these teams, rather than leaving us guessing. Almost every single tag team who wrestled at either Double or Nothing or Fyter Fest suffer from this problem. - The librarian gimmick sucks and makes no sense. Any involvement from either of the two sharing the gimmick is incredibly cringeworthy and makes me want to switch off. - Two too many Bayley rip-offs. There was Kylie Rae at Double or Nothing, and Allie at Fyter Fest seems to have the same character, judging by her entrance. - First match (on the main show) is far too early for a finisher kick-out. - MJF's promo was great! - It's not just tag teams that suffer from clear alignment issues. Cody seems to have flip flopped from heel to face in both of his AEW matches! Had no idea if Darby Allin was supposed to be a face or heel either. They really need to fix this, it's a big problem. - ing hell, that chair shot!!! Complete shock for Shawn Spears to turn heel in such a major way! The aftermath was absolutely brutal!! I really don't get why MJF would be out there to check on Cody and support him, given his supposedly egotistical character, which up until now has been presented as a rich snob who only cares for himself. Massive lack of logic there. - That 6 Man Tag match was awesome! - ing hell, that Unsanctioned match was disgustingly brutal! Some hard to watch spots. I was able to sit through it though, despite minor discomfort. I've never been a fan of hardcore wrestling, but I couldn't miss Moxley's AEW debut match. That Kenny Omega post-match brawl was fantastic!

Sounds excellent, so I'll remain optimistic. But WWE is such damaged goods at this point in the year, I won't believe a quality turnaround until I see it. WWE have spent the past couple of months throwing all the crapthey can at the wall to see what sticks, from the 24/7 Championship to the Wildcard rule, when what is really needed is just simple, precise storytelling. I can only hope that Heyman and Bischoff have enough power in their new roles to make it happen.

Now that the only four matches on the card I had any interest in are done, I consider the show over for me. Thankfully they made smart choices with each match I watched. Becky obviously should have retained, so sensible booking to do so. A shock to have Ricochet win the US title! I hoped he would, but I didn't think he would. I just knew that he and Joe would put on an entertaining match, and Ricochet coming out the winner was a bonus. Disappointed with the result of the SD Tag Team titles match, even though I don't mind it in terms of logical booking. I'm just not a fan of eco warrior Bryan at all, and I love Heavy Machinery. Thank they had the sense to have Bayley retain! There is absolutely no way on earth Alexa should have won, and I did get a bit concerned at points in the match where it looked like she might win. Thankfully by this time they've realised that the women's division is about more than just Alexa, though there will always be the worry of them forgetting that. If they could stop putting her in title matches, that would be great, so I can fully appreciate her performances.

Speaking for myself personally, I've never cared whatsoever for any other sport, not even football (or as Americans call it, soccer). Never have, and likely never will. They just never appealed to me. Pro wrestling appeals to me with larger than life characters, insane athleticism, and most importantly, the storytelling. You're not going to find those aspects in any other sport.

How can the UK watch Fyter Fest then? On FITE, for £8.99.

Feel quite disappointed with the announcement that Fyter Fest won't actually be free, after official claims that it would be. Sure, it's free in the US, but not outside. It's not an expensive price, but I was under the impression that I wouldn't have to pay at all. They should have clarified this from the beginning, rather than 9 days before the event saying "hey guess what? You actually have to pay". I know it's not a big deal, but I feel misled, almost to the point of considering skipping this PPV.

Quite an enjoyable #1 Contender Women's Battle Royal on NXT UK. Some good spots, like Gabert saving Jinny, Ripley & Niven going after each other, Xia eliminating them both in a false victory. Also good continuity with Xia and Isla teaming up throughout.
Kay Lee Ray is a good choice, though hopefully now they decide on her alignment. At first she seemed like a heel with the way she talked backstage, but then she seems to have been a face the past few weeks. Either way, they've never strongly defined her.
I'm really enjoying this Rhea Ripley/Piper Niven feud. Both work really well against each other.
I hope Xia Brookside's strong performance is an indication that they have plans to push her. She's one of my personal favourites in the brand.

How would people feel about moving Balor in to take the title off WALTER down the line? Just as a traditional champ, and only temporarily, just to get more eyes on the product. It's an enjoyable weekly show, it just lacks viewers and transferring a bit of star power with a guy like Balor for a few months could attract a larger audience. I'd definitely love that idea. Balor's surprise appearance at TakeOver: Blackpool was what made the show memorable for me. And like you say, would help their ongoing problems.

I have to agree on Banks! I honestly would rather see Mastiff/WALTER. Oh definitely! Mastiff is one of the best on the roster. But I think they're probably saving him to eventually take the title off of WALTER, which would be too soon right now. I don't really see anyone else on the roster capable of taking down WALTER.
