I wouldn't say he's going to destroy America, because right now he's just following Bush while trying to sprinkle a little Clinton on top just to appease the left. I'm so proud of you for realizing what's happening. It's a little late, but hey, better late than never. Like I said from the beginning, neither McCain or Obama are worthy candidates to vote for. They're both pawns for their party's agendas (which are a lot closer than anyone on either side wants to admit). They both want to spend money like maniacs, which is the reason our country is in the financial situation we're in right now.

Clearly we should have just taken Lewis Blacks advice and either elect the corpse of Reagan or Santa Claus.

If you could see me now, you'd see me doing my "I told you so" dance. I love when people become jaded with politicians. Did I not tell you that McCain or Obama would both play the same freaking political games that W played? And that Clinton played before him and that Bush played before him? and so on and so on? Nothing changes in DC. Ever. I came here to make a "We know you suck but do you swallow" joke to Slappy but then I was completely and totally side tracked when I marked the ever loving out by seeing Hulkamaniac is back!!!!!

I honestly don't know what people expected out of him...or anyone else who would have become president.
People have such a simplistic view on things that in the reality that is our government is so much more difficult than we perceive them to be.
Is it fair? Does it make sense? Those answers are relative...

Step 1 Stop voting for 'democrats' or 'republicans' who just simply follow the party lines. Some candidates actually think for themselves (Kucinich, R. Paul) and are bashed by their political peers -- but these are the people who are truly trying to "change" things. These are the people who are calling out the rest of these corrupt SOB's and exposing them for what they are. Vote for them if they are in your area. If not, find people who ARE in your area that don't simply subscribe to the political agenda.
Step 2 Inform your friends and people who you believe aren't just looking at politics as a way of looking 'cool'.
Step 3 Write your congressmen. Tell them to that the government (both state and federal in most cases) needs to stop spending so much motherf*cking money on stupid sh*t.
Step 4 Profit.

I didn't even bother voting since Ron Paul wasn't on the ballot. Plus, I don't have to worry about jury duty.

People always get too caught up in the party system. Every politician is the same, Democrat or Republican - they all do what they need to do to benefit themselves and the people around them. That's why it's ridiculous when right wingers accuse all lefties of being communists and lefties accuse right wingers of being the next Hitler. It's all the same. Your sig is so true, --- I never trusted Obama because I did not feel he was right for our nation. I hate to say this, but his race was most likely the deciding factor for his victory which is insane. I wish we could have a more superior and trustworthy leader in office, but we still have a long time of Obama to go

The thing about message boards and politics is this...
The 'other guy' will always be better. No matter how good or bad the current president is, the 'other guy' is just awesome..as he hasn't had the chance to make mistakes for the nation yet.

I look at it this way. They are all dog crap. They just sit on different sides of the yard.
The people that are in politics to truely help will not make it to an office high enough to do so. You should have known by being involved with Chicago slum lords that Obama wasn't any different than anyone else. You should have known when he was asked the question about when a fetus is considered a living being, and he gave the bush answer of being above his pay grade. There are so many instances like that, where people should have realized. Instead they wanted to buy into the rhetoric of hope and change. Really? Hope and change. That's a great idea. How are you going to come about this? Oh, you didn't say during your entire campaign, yet people still shout "Yes we can!"
The only promises he made on the trail were complete transparency. First week in office he went back on that over photos from Gitmo. Close Gitmo? Sure it's in process. What are they doing? Sending them to other places like it. (I personally want them to keep it open.)
He's is going to turn this economy around! What's that? Oh, you mis-read how bad off we were. What? That doesn't even make sense.
I'm not a bitter Republican. Hell, I'm not a Republican at all, but at least we would have known the crap McCain was going to do. Not the bs, look over here while I kick you in the nuts, stuff our President pulls now.
