I laugh everytime someone brings up DADT. Let's be honest. There are a lot of good people in the military. But there are also a lot of homophobic dirtbags. I think we need to be in a war to get rid of DADT, otherwise, prepare for all kinds of horrendous discriminatory acts against the gays in the military. They are just going to have to deal with it, like when we integrated the military. Gays are already serving, just they can't be open or they are kicked out. Do they have to announce that they are gay? No, but they shouldn't have to hide it. Yeah, but my point is more a time where we are entering peace is a bad time to do this. When we integrated the military, it was during the world war's and Vietnam, when the dumb rednecks couldn't be as bigoted when their asses were being saved by the black soldiers. I guarantee the soldiers will not be homophobic when a "fag" saves them and does not proceed to anally rape them. Let's wait until we go to war with Iran, then do away with it.

Even though Obama has backtracked like a mother er, if we were to vote between Obama and McCain again, I'd still vote Obama.

I just don't vote. I mean it, none of them will actually do right and even if one would do it, it is a popular election Obama was more popular then McCain so Obama won. No one even ing discuss issues anymore.

I still wish Hillary would have won. We already knew she was hawkish on foreign policy, we know she has a track record on gay rights and on HIV/AIDS, and we all know about health care with her, so she wouldn't cave on a public option. Plus Sarah Palin would probably still be governor of Alaska next month. Slap', come on dude. Hasn't this whole thing shown you that all these people are the same? Including Hillary. Maybe she would've made some steps toward gay rights, but she would've been making the same dumbass mistakes as Obama in most areas; and others in other areas.

But she wasn't the one promising that the challenges we face aren't too big that she can't handle everything at once. She was the experienced one that knew how the game works and not to promise everything to change overnight. If Obama didn't promise to work so fast on everything then maybe I wouldn't be as upset with him as I am.

But I think the overwhelming point here is that all of these politicians are liars in one way or another. By electing someone besides Obama (McCain, Clinton), you're not changing the political situation... You're just changing the face in front of it.

Obama came out promising the moon and you bought it hook, line and sinker. Now you're realizing that he's just another lieing politician like everyone else yet you're still buying Hillary's campaign promises because she would follow through with them. No other politician every has, but she would be the first.

i like the comments about Obama fooling people and making them think he was different... wasn't one of the big knocks on Obama that we weren't sure on his actual stances and views and what his actual actions would be once he took office? the fact that he was a great speaker and that itself garnered him alot of support?
and look what happened. he talked everyone and himself up only to run his own agenda... politics as usual.

I'm jaded enough to think that on the national scale it doesn't matter who we vote for. Now, on the local scale I still think I can make some sort of a difference. Besides, local government affects me far more than national stuff.

Shut the ****up Slappy we are in 2 wars and a economical crisis.
I do support same-sex marriage, since people with down syndrome can marry, but I just don't think you you should be whining about this right now

Yeah I know, but its ridiculous that even though Obama has only been in office for 6 months (which by the way he is dealing with a economical crisis) people are getting upset because he hasn't done much with their Gay rights.

No, I will not shut the up, because it is important that he gets to it. We are in 1 1/2 wars and Obama supposedly fixed the economy, so he can get to it.

So Slappy shouldn't feel upset that his rights (or lack thereof) aren't being taken care of? That is ridiculous. While it may not be of high importance to you it obviously is to someone like Slappy, who is fighting to have those rights.

He needs to be more patient, we have people who can barely put food on the table(My sister is one of them) and even though gay rights are important, I think he should wait until after we get out of this mess to be upset about it.
