Obama is no doubt a liar and a fraud.....but he's also a GENIUS. He managed to trick all the casual followers of politics by having a campaign platform that was so UNSPECIFIC that he actually was able to become EVERYTHING to EVERYONE. He basically said "hey there common man whom I identify with......what are you unhappy with?" And after you told him, his response was: "Well that's all going to CHANGE when I am President!" And nobody bothered to then ask him to clarify HOW or into WHAT all of our fears and doubts were going to 'change' in to. He manipulated the SIGNIFICANT portion of the African American population who had never even bothered to vote before by going up there and making reference to himself as a mutt and like he identified with people from the ghetto's and the projects.....despite the fact that he's one of the most EDUCATED men we've ever seen - white, black, or otherwise. The bottom line is that this man went to Columbia University and then Harvard Law....he doesn't identify with the 'common man'. He knew exactly what he was doing and exactly how to manipulate all the people to get EXACTLY what he wanted. You hit the nail on the head with that one. I am for Gay marrige and pretty much every western country allows it. It is about time America did.

No, I will not shut the up, because it is important that he gets to it. We are in 1 1/2 wars and Obama supposedly fixed the economy, so he can get to it. What exactly do you want him to do? Shouldn't you be out campaigning at the state level to get the gay rights? I'm not saying you don't deserve it, because the money that would be made off gay marriage could really help the economy greatly.

So Slappy shouldn't feel upset that his rights (or lack thereof) aren't being taken care of? That is ridiculous. While it may not be of high importance to you it obviously is to someone like Slappy, who is fighting to have those rights. He needs to be more patient, we have people who can barely put food on the table(My sister is one of them) and even though gay rights are important, I think he should wait until after we get out of this mess to be upset about it. Then go help her put the food on the table and stop arguing with Slappy on a message board. Priorities

I do have the feeling he is going to go the way of Carter though. I think that will be decided entirely on the state of the economy and our various military concerns (wars, foreign tensions that aren't yet wars, and national security) three years from now. The people that vote based on political party will, for the most part, vote that way no matter what. The election would be decided by the minority of people who actually try to figure out who the best candidate is and try to judge the incumbent based on whether they percieve his first term as a success or failure. For Obama, those two issues (at least one of them, if not both) will seal his fate, in my opinion. Also, Slappy, sometimes I agree with you and sometimes I don't, but I applaud you for being smart about things and attempting to keep politicians honest, rather than defending them just to save face for the guy you voted for. I voted Obama too, and while I disagree that he's been a total failure (I still think his biggest challenges, the economy and foreign policy, are way too big and way too complicated to judge for at least another 6 months to a year) I do think he's fumbled in a couple of areas. I don't expect any president to be perfect, and I sure as hell don't expect any president to he honest. But when you sign up to be president, you need to be held accountable. Bottom line.
