Hey guys. I met DDP today at a convention and I asked him about his Mattel figure. He said that the figure is complete and looks awesome! He said that his mullet is a bit strange but cool and he said the figure is a unique look that hasn't been done before.
So I am guessing that they are not cancelling the Legends line (like speculated) if DDP has a legends figure that is coming out.

I'll buy it if it comes with a WCW US title belt....or Kimberly.

thanks for the update. Can't wait to see the figure, DDP is within my top 3 most wanted Legends figures.
I really hope the figure represents DDP as a HEEL though. I hated all his Jakks figures because they all had smiling headscans. People always focus on his "people's champion" days and that awful smiley gimmick he had for a tiny amount of time in WWF. But DDP rose to fame as a heel and was a heel for many parts of his career. Not to mention he was really good at playing a heel and working the crowd.
Ideally I want to see Mattel base the DDP figure around mid-late 1996 (ie before he turned face to battle the NWO). But attire aside, the most important thing to me with this figure is the headscan. It's gotta be a straight-faced or heel looking headscan. NOT SMILING! Hell, even when DDP was a face in WCW, he never smiled that much, and generally looked pretty serious and intense.
And if we're talking wishlist-fantasy ideals, I'd love a DDP/Kimberly 2-pack too. And as CableV suggested, a WCW US title would be amazing. But yeh, the most important thing is the DDP headscan. PLEASE mattel, give us a HEEL DDP figure!

Some of the best news I've read on here in a while. Whether he's released in Legends ,or if necessary another line, it doesn't matter as long as we get this figure. But hopefully this can be taken as a good sign for the future of Legends as a continuing series. Only time will tell I guess.

I have a feelin that mattel is gonna go the jakks route and do it 1 per elite wave, or the entire line is going on mattycollector.com
Thanks for the info man, btw

Some of the best news I've read on here in a while. Most definitely. I've had a pretty crappy day too so this was outstanding to hear.(gotta love how toys can cheer a grown man up ) I wish they could work his cigar in somehow, but I'm know that would never fly.

ya know when i read DDP said it was a unique look that hasn't been done before... the first thing that came to my mind was his "hobo" look after he lost the lottery money... overgrown beard, messy hair, worn out tights... lol. the figure could come with decent tights under some removeable fabric crappy ones and a giant lottery cheque.
would be an interesting figure to see haha. although i stand by my post above that his mid-late 1996 heel days would be the best era to base the figure.

great news. I was never a huge DDP fan till I started doing his Yoga workouts. Now I'm a big fan and have actually talked to him online a few times. He does a great job of motivating people.

No way. Definitely a Legends I'd buy as soon as I see it. Too much Hulk Hogan Era and not enough WCW, ECW, Attitude Era. Been seeing more Attitude with the next Defining set though.

It needs to be a WCW version when he was at the peak of his career.
