With the never ending repaints it seems like collecting is getting boring. Yes its cool to get a new first in line but honestly its few and far between atleast it seems that way.
I thought epic moments would be awesome and it was for the hardyz and thought wow newer characters and belts but now it seems like just repaints of people in street clothes.
I was going thru my elites and realized so many mid card guys missing to complete a titles lineage. Crusierweight division is lacking. Basic are just repaints with new arm molds of 90% of the current guys who have elites.
Despite jakks inaccuracy on height scale they had more variety were i feel mattel just relies on reigns and cena and miz seriously miz has like in the last year 12 new figures. I guess waiting 2-3 months for any new figures only to find out 1-2 are new rest our just the same old ambrose or new painted legs jericho can get a little discouraged like hoo ray now i gotta wait 6 months to see if any new figures first in line arrive.
Your thoughts
Also im aware we are getting
Diy Tbk Simmons Kane repaint Elias one day Wm 19 angle Red Rooster Alundra Blaze Billie Kay
But wheres
Benjamin elite Akira towzawa Hideo Itami Titus o neil Greg Valentine Fabulous Rougues Peyton Royce Sanity Lance Storm Val Venis call him chief Morley Ecw guys Wcw guys
Mattel needs to see if wwe can sign more guys.
Also personal gripe Elite Rhyno we saw basic put proper shoulders they should fix Rhyno

Jakks did the same thing because that is what the wwe and retailers want driving the lines. With Jakks it was Austin, Rock. Triple H, Undertaker, HBK in most lines because they were the main guys on the roster. Now with Mattel it’s Reigns, Cena, Rollins, Ambrose, Miz & Orton because they are the main guys on the roster.

I only collect the flashbacks. I don't understand why anyone would want 8 John Cenas or 5 Dean Ambrose, but hey to each their own. I think kids buy them , I don't know, lol.

Well, I've trimmed my WWE collection to AE and some early RA only, so everything is few and far between. But I also collect Marvel Legends, Star Wars vintage collection, and GI Joe 25th, so I'm rarely bored.. broke... but never bored. Have you thought about expanding into different lines? If not, consider yourself lucky with how much money you get to save ;P

Bored, no. If anything, I feel like there is something more I could do with the money, but at the end of the day I enjoy figure collecting.

I wholeheartedly disagree. I'm having more fun now than I ever had collecting WWE figures. And I've been in the game since LJN. At 40 years old, I'd love to stop. But they just keep getting better and better.
I sometimes skip a figure, and there's nothing wrong with that. Nobody has ever forced us to buy everything. Something that may not interest me, may be the equivalent of a golden unicorn to someone else. So repaints don't effect me. I understand this line isn't made specifically for me and my wants.
CW Division is still in it's infant stages. But in the short time they have been around we've gotten Aries, Neville, TJP, Swann, Gallagher, & soon released Kendrick. Add them to Kalisto & Enzo and I think we've gotten a fairly decent start.
People are always quick to point out all the names Jakks gave us that Mattel hasn't. But they seem to ignore all the names Mattel has released that Jakks never did. Savage, Elizabeth, Steamboat, Kerry & Kevin, Red Rooster, Alundra Blaze, & Magnum TA just to name a few.
So like I said above, IMO Mattel has made this hobby more fun and more rewarding as far as I'm concerned.

Other than Undertaker, I only collect 1 or 2 of each male character, depending on how iconic some of their attires are. I'm actually enjoying the repaints right now because it is allowing me to get caught up a little and not have to buy an entire series. I was excited to see a Sexual Chocolate being released (now if only I could find one). I'm sure there will come a time where I have everything and nothing new is coming out that I want, but my wallet will sure be happy about that. I still get excited to see what's coming out, whether its one new release like The Red Rooster, or a series of them at SDCC. Yes, Mattel has any more characters they could do, but the kids will still buy up the Cenas and Ambrose, which gives them the budget to make us new characters. No matter which company had the license, we would still find something we didn't like. If collecting wasn't fun, I wouldn't do it.

We haven’t had an updated Orton for almost 3 years so I wouldn’t count him in. I hate when they oversaturate guys at retail, but the only exception I had was Rey Mysterio. I literally wanted to buy every Rey Mysterio because each one was different.

The problem they have is when the repaints run out and they don't have any new talent to make. which is starting come rather sooner than later for MDT. Eventually they will have to ask WWE if they can do a talent who might've been hands off (Chyna, Scott Steiner, etc...).

I literally wanted to buy every Rey Mysterio because each one was different. I think we’ve gotten a few basics within the last year. There’s a BP with Wyatt I am looking for. My Walmart has the Club and Ascension last night, but not the Orton set. And my TRU just put out a WrestleMania Basic ring set with Orton. I wanted to pick it up, but my wife will kill me if I bring another ring into this house. lol and I think one of the recent basic singles lineups he was in. And his talking figure (forget what they are called just hit) Elites we just got the Legend Killer and and finally the WrestleMania Elite. And if not Orton Balor could be added as he has been getting a lot of late. In any case the point is they always have and always will release the guys who are the big names. But it makes sense for them to do it. I look at it like making a Batman line. Every wave is going to have a Batman in it.

I think it's inevitable that a line as long as this tends to lull after a while. I'm also not a fan of the current WWE product, so that's a huge part of it. I'll follow up this suggestion with a similar sentiment -- check out another line that you may have some interest in. I've dug into the Black Series and Masters of the Universe lately and it's scratched the collecting itch way more than the WWE line at the moment. No shame in taking a little time off.

I mainly pay attention to the NXT line and that has always been pretty solid IMO. And now the Walgreens Women’s line.
The only thing I don’t care for in the main Elite line is that is pretty much the same characters being released over and over. I would just like to see more new faces in the line.

Because of those figures you mentioned, Kerry and Kevin were only sold in the US, Elizabeth was a matty collector figure, her 2nd release was US only, Savage DM arguably the best Savage elite was US only, thennowforever Savage US only, Steamboat elites were both US...not so great when you get into the nitty gritty.

Elizabeth was in the regular elite series. You're correct. She was initially going to be sold on matty collector and I believe because of poor sales they moved her to the standard elite line. However if memory serves me correct she was still hard to get, similar to the Outsiders Nash which even though released in the regular elite line he was shipped very minimally per case and many people had to get him online including myself. I think the same applied to Liz.

To an extent it gets boring. Personally I hate seeing so many Cenas and Hhhs. But you have to realize that these are children's toys. The promotion pushes those guys as top guys or important people so when children see this, that is who they want to buy when they go to the store. Mattel hopes children will go to the store and purchase these toys. You buying a toy as a collector is a given for Mattel so they don't cater to us as much as they do to children. Because they know your money will be headed to them, but they want to try and get the children's money as well.

I couldn't disagree more. I'm having more fun than ever. Non-wrestler additions like Mean Gene and Fink add a ton my collection. The Heartbreak Hotel set is literally a childhood dream come true. HOF Piper and Diesel are two of the nicest figures to date in my opinion. And with the 205 Live and NXT rosters being built out we're getting figured of some of my favorite current products. And I love all the Hasbro, BCA, and Galloob attire remakes that have been released. I buy what I like, and am happy to pass on the rest.
If you had told me in the late 90's I'd be able to have figures of Austin, HBK, The Rock, Sting, Bret Hart, Hall, Nash, and Luger all in the same style with great detail and realistic scale, I'd have lost my mind.
If you told me in the late 00's/early 2010's that I would have figures of Styles, Samoa Joe, Nakamura, and Daniel Bryan alongside those same figures I mentioned above, along with the rest of the WWE roster, I'd have lost my mind even more.
The line isn't perfect, there are plenty of my favorite wrestles who I would like to see made, and distribution still causes some headaches. But overall I can't think of a better time to be a wrestling figure collector. But that's just me.
