YES is my short answer.
HEre is my long answer as to why.
First of all, I want to thank you for a great line and want you to know how much I appreciate the scale WWE Mattel Elite line of figures. The best wrestling figures ever. I am old school and a long time collector - I spend THOUSANDS of dollars a year and love my figures for multiple brands. I know I am a minority, but what makes me collect current figures (since I don't watch WWE as much anymore) is knowing you have legends coming out.
I know Bill/Mattel has challenges of what WWE will allow - who has licenses as a legend deal - cost affiliated - who wants to buy them and how to release them.
The whole purpose of the WWE creating their own NETWORK is they have massive hours of programming of the past that they can make exclusive to the viewer. Working in conjunction with Mattel - to release a figure with spotlighting the success of that legend could benefit the Network (wwe) The Legend, Mattel and of course the collector.
When I see figures coming like Harley Race it increases my interest in the line ... when the legends struggle to find a home or a way of getting released my interest in the current figures and line in general fades.
I know you have tried a Legends line (with some less than classic images) like Slaughter without his fatigues, or Snuka with the long pants and not a great face, or ROad Warriors in the black pads but not the red. The Andre the Giant was released in a strange way as I recall and same with Bundy with the relatively unknown and not publicized Matty - stores ordered some (so Target is an hour away from me and on-line is not abundant. Toys R us is closed. Gamestop yes or no? There was a legend added with each elite series which I loved now that has seemed to end. I would love a legend -even if it was a build a figure in the elite line. Or exclusives to an on-line source either way ... just putting it out there. I love the Legends and we have many more to go that could benefit Mattel, WWE, and LEGENDS.
Finally, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY love if Bill would just tell us what legends have a deal with WWE ... and have a little more insight as to why someone like Bob Backlund former WWE champ, or Rocky Johnson or Hall of Famers like Greg Valentine, Superstar Billy Graham and many others are not in.
Thanks

Wrestling lost me. Still interested in import figures/Marvel legends, but I care more about kicks and clothes right now then figures for sure

Nope not at all. Sure, it’s not what it used to be but I’ve been collecting figs my whole life, not going to stop now

I’ve been done with wrestling since about 1995. Zero interest in anything past that year but I’m still passionate about finishing up my golden era and new generation figures.

I’ll add my two cents on the topic.
I am a legends/flashback only collector and at this point in the life of the Mattel WWE line (read: 8 years or so in), we’re definitely at a point of diminishing returns. Mattel has done such a great job putting out many different characters since 2010 that there’s really not a ton left that would A) sell B) please the flashback collectors like myself and C) be able to be made under an agreement with Mattel. So naturally, my purchases have slowed significany to match the significant reduction in new character legends. I’ll buy some repaints, but only of certain characters (I’d call it 50/50).
So yeah, my interest has waned but only because production of new flashbacks have dropped. But should Mattel announce at SDCC 2018 that over the next 6 months we’d be getting elites of Mabel, New Gen Bob Backlund, Greg Valentine, Power & Glory, The Barbarian, Bad News Brown, Slick, Mr. Fuji, The Genius, The Mountie, Dino Bravo, Beverly Brothers, Owen Hart, Smokin Gunns, Nailz, Giant Gonzalez, Adam Bomb, Ludvig Borga, Max Moon, Marc Mero, Dean Douglas, and Ahmed Johnson, my excitement would come right back.

I mostly like this entire post except some minor characters you named that I would have no interest in like Borga, Nailz, Moon, Beverly bros, Giant Gonzalez, Dean Douglas and smoking gunns. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who wants bad news brown though

So much so that I've sold off my entire collection. Between Marvel Legends just flat being better, waves being difficult to find at retail, scalpers, months between new figure waves, and a general lack of new Legends, I got tired of it all.
I like following the board still and hearing Hogan is back might make for some exciting figure talk, but other than that I'm done with WWE figs.

I have yes but that's mostly due to me being a WCW collector, so there's not always a lot for me to be pumped about.

I only collect figures from the Golden Era so my interest was limited from the start. However, ever since the introduction of these damn store exclusive lines, my frustration levels have increased and my interest is starting to wane because its becoming a lot HARDER to find the figures I am interest in. I hope the bigwigs at Mattel have some sort of annual review of product lines and look at making some changes to the distribution of their product, which is currently horrible! It should not be as difficult as it is IMO to find these figures yet for some reason it is!? I hope they reconsider their stance and go back to the way things were, namely including 1 or 2 flashbacks into the main elite line- at least for international collectors.
The rumoured reveal of a new Steamboat figure at SDCC has me only partially excited because I know its going to be very difficult to find, depending on what line they put it in. I don't understand why they are making it so difficult to purchase these figures- business 101 you should not frustrate your customer and make it difficult for them to find and purchase your product. I am close to giving up but my love for this hobby and my inherit nature not to give up is making me keep at it, although begrudgingly.

I only collect Golden and New Gen eras, so my interest has waned as the selection has gone down. Figures like Patterson, Backlund, Mabel, Sherri, etc. are great news for me.

My head only pokes out when we get a new Edge, flashback Taker, Flashback HHH, HBK, Flashback Jericho's, or any other AE or RA midcarder.

After today, still have a lost of interest? Yes, speaking as someone who primarily collects Flashbacks and is looking for fresh faces.
