That picture really got to me when I saw it earlier this morning. R.I.P. Anvil.

Wow, this sucks. The Anvil was one of my early favorites when I was growing up and got into wrestling. My first real favorites were Big Boss Man and The Hart Foundation, and now of my first 3 favorites, only Bret is left. From his high energy, to the signature goatee. In fact, I actually have similar facial hair now, because of him. He was always entertaining, especially in the interviews. Sad to see him go, and just awful for Nattie. At least, he was able to be around and see the accomplishments she was able to achieve herself. From the stories you'd hear about him back in the day, the man was larger than life both in the ring and out.

Wow this has been quite the year for wrestling deaths! My thoughts are with Nattie and the rest of the family. RIP Jim Neidhart.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Neidhart fell at home and hit his head, which caused his death.

This one hurts. Growing up as a kid, especially in Canada, I was a HUGE hart foundation fan. Then in the 90s when the hart foundation returned that was one of my favourite times as a fan. Crazy to believe that only Bret Hart is still with us. . I met the Anvil twice. Here are some items I got signed. RIP Anvil

What a shame. Jim was always so entertaining and one of the best big guys in the business.

Just a promo I always loved with Anvil. I don't know what it is, but I just loved the way he said, "I just don't care!" I'm sure I'm not the only one that can say this, but The Hart Foundation was the reason I loved tag team wrestling. the paring of Bret and Jim was just so perfect, they complimented eachother so well, and each brought something to the team.

RIP. Surprised no one has mentioned the infamous "Anvil Fan" guy who was a member here for years.

If you have a beard/goatee give it a tug today in Anvil's honor

Like I was mentioned in a previous post, I have a similar goatee, and I actually find myself doing the tug on it like he did, without even noticing.

It's always disheartening to read of a wrestler's passing, but I think because Jim's daughter works for WWE and she's loved by seemingly everyone there it feels that much more tragic. My condolences go out to his family and close friends, as well as the fans who've enjoyed his work through the years.
Even though I didn't grow up watching the original Hart Foundation team as they were tagging, I caught up on them by renting the wrestling VHS tapes when I was a kid. He and Bret had such a great dynamic between the two of them. WWE could never replicate what they brought to the table. Anvil's laugh was infectious and I dare anyone not to laugh at one of his promos.
The Hart Foundation stable he was a part of in '97 is my favorite ever. I just recently finished watching their run again and it's bittersweet. There's really nothing else like it in the history of WWE. It's hard to put into words just how special it was. When it's done, as much fun as you know you're going to have watching guys like Austin and DX take off in popularity, you can't help but want to see more of heel Bret and his family rule the WWF. Without Jim in the mix, I don't think they would have been complete. His contributions to the careers of the Hart family members cannot be overstated.

Damn shame. Enough to make you cry. It’s such a shame. I can’t believe that a stable that was just a hair over two decades ago is down to one man. I always favored The Anvil over The Hitman. Prayers for the Hart family. Major prayers to Natalya who is an absolute sweetheart. I never personally spoke to her but she connected with my ex/best friend. She is a strong and kind hearted lady. This is sad.

This is sad. Bret was always the “Shawn” of the Hart Foundation, as his push would also indicate. Absolutely loved heel Hart Foundation during the Attitude Era. Never really reached it’s full potential, but still a very memorable faction.
