I keep hearing about the Rock And Roll Express being part of this line, but I’ve not seen anything “official”. Is there a tease or hint somewhere that I’ve missed? I’d love for them to be a part of this line. 👍 There was a tease quite early on with Zombie replying to a Tweet from Ricky Morton (I think) about something exciting that was coming. Matt Cardona has since confirmed in this thread that they are coming as a two-pack, but we’ve not heard it officially from Zombie yet as far as I remember. Thanks man. I’ve kind of been out of the loop for some time and have just started to visit this forum again after bouncing in and out for a few years. 👍

I like Krylon Low Odor Clear Finish in Matte. Garbagemon knows what he’s talking about- lol! I’ve used it myself for years on custom figures and model kits.

So using the hot water method worked for you? These figs have been sitting in that bin for YEARS, so I'm fearing the worst. I hope the damage isn't permanent, but we shall see.

Odd question here: I just retrieved a storage bin from the attic full of old, loose Jakks CS figures. From being stored all these years, a lot of them have legs (lower legs, mainly) that are all bowed out or warped and thus are unable to stand. Is there any way to get the legs to regain their original shape? The only thing I can think of would be to brace the leg and possibly use hot water, or a blow dryer? I'd hate to think all those figures are ruined, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

My God, these are awesome. I've never seen this before! The two vehicles are definitely from the Rock n Wrestling cartoon (both featured prominently in the cartoon's intro). The motorcycles, I'm not so sure, but damn, would I love to have these. What's with the Hulk & Roddy figures in the cars, though? They look totally different than the regular bendy figs. Were they to be made exclusively for the vehicles?

Great to see more from you garbagemon! I just happened to watch a little bit of IWA action on Youtube recently, and then I see this post - I'm totally stoked over these! As mentioned in a previous post, Mighty Igor is a great likeness with awesome accessories, just a top notch job. And I never in a million years thought I'd ever see an Ivan Kalmikoff custom (how many people here would even know who he is without Google search? Lol!)
You told me some time back you had a Tex McKenzie in the works and what a fantastic job you did. Another great likeness which is sometimes hard to pull off with someone like Tex who despite being fairly tall, had a bit of a generic look.
Bulldog Brower? Damn, this is one great looking custom. Brower was absolutely nuts and this custom captures his deranged look perfectly! I honestly can't think of one thing about this custom to complain about.
Giant Haystacks was another added surprise another wrestler that I don't recall seeing a custom of. And once again, a tremendous likeness - the clothing from Ralph's and the fur vest really does the trick here.
With so many IWA mainstays, have you considered a custom of IWA announcer, Jack Reynolds? And any updates on the Mil Mascaras custom we spoke of some time ago? I have a Jakks scale Mil Mascaras casted head that I was hoping to send to you, but we moved into a new house back in April and all of my custom fodder has ended up in storage for the time being.
There are some great customs on these boards, but I'll always have a fondness for "old school" guys like these. Can't wait to see who you have next!

Kevin Sullivan is openly a Satanist and has threatened to kill multiple people, Benoit including For one, satanism is not what you think... Two, Kevin Sullivan blows and that’s the real reason And three, Sullivan has openly claimed to NOT be a Satanist. It's a gimmick, folks. During his 80's Florida wrestling heyday, he never once uttered the word "Satan". Most of his promos were gibberish that dealt more with Hinduism. It was Dusty Rhodes and the news stand magazines that made the "devil" references, not Kevin. Sorry for the mini-rant. Oh, and sticking to topic, I'd definitely buy a Mattel Sullivan fig, his Jakks CS one DOES blow.

Do you mind me asking what you paid? I've got a couple of those vinyl banners from when I worked at TRU back in the day, I've always wondered if there was any value to them at all.

Hey Garbagemon, are you trying to say I'm some kind of a Masked Superstar mark or something? Hell....you're right. These are some great pieces, man. The mask sculpting from Henchmen4hire is absolutely top notch so it got off to a good start right off the bat. Superstar had so many masks over the years, these 3 colors are certainly the ones he used most often, so good choice there. Using the Lawler torso was a given since I think that's the only Mattel with that style of singlet. I've tried sculpting singlets like that in the past, and they were kind of a pain to make look decent. The paintjobs are reasonably smooth as well, and what a smart move having pre-match gear available. Is it handmade or did you get it from Ralph's? Either way, I love it, and I love the MACW backdrop too. I have a similar one that I used for some of my older customs (I used to be a fairly active Jakks customizer back in the day). Things like that make a ton of difference when it comes to photos and having them on display. Fantastic job overall, my friend. I can't wait to see more from you. MSF

Ok, as you can guess from my username, I'm very intrigued by this- lol! I hope you post updates- oh and that's a freaking phenomenal job so far, by the way. By far the most detailed job I've ever seen on a masked man. Masked Superstar ready for action on Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. Used a Lawler elite body which has the perfect over the shoulder singlet. Oh...my...God. Ok, my mind is officially blown -Lol! This is great work here. Obviously the details on the mask is top notch from the sculpting to the smooth paintjob. The pre-match gear is a nice touch - is it handmade or did you get it from Ralphs'? And the MACW backdrop is a great addition as well. I have a similar one that I used for some of my older customs (I used to be a fairly active Jakks customizer back in the day). Any chance you can post a pic him without the shirt as I'm interested to see how the Lawler torso worked out. Regardless, this is damn near flawless and looks as if it just came out of a package. As a huge Superstar mark, I can't find a thing wrong with it - except the fact I don't have it -Lol! Just a fine, fine job all around - thanks for sharing.

No one from the AWA results from around this period really jumps out as possibly being this figure. The biggest names that didn't end up with a figure were Kevin Kelly, Buck Zumhofe, Mongolian Stomper, Brad Rheingans, Bruiser Brody, and Jerry Blackwell. Blackwell actually was released in the two pack with Stan Hansen. That two pack, along with the Carlos Colon/ Abdullah the Butcher two pack were my favorites.

Woah are you kidding me?!? Man I wish my Target had the Heenan set. We are jammed with Horsemen. I don't think I've even seen Heenan. I really wanted the Brain and Mr Perfect. Agreed! I passed on the Heenan set when I first saw it as it was full price at that point. I did get the Horsemen set for 20 bucks some time back but I never saw the Heenan set again.

Nice to see an update! Very cool Mighty Igor custom - another one where I don't know if I've ever seen one of him. The head and face are a great likeness. I know we had previously spoken of using an RA Eugene figure as a base, but your method came out looking fantastic. My concern was the torso choice as he had more of a "barrel chest" power lifter-type physique but the more I look at it, you were definitely able to make it work with the great sculpting and painting. The kielbasa as an accessory is pretty damn funny - my first recollection of seeing Igor actually involved him crushing a watermelon with his bare hands. Aaah, the memories.... Great job, my friend. Can't wait to see some more IWA alumni (did I hear someone mention the name, Tex McKenzie -Lol?)

Hello, Nick! Great to hear from ya again, my friend! I echo your sentiments about thinking outside the box, especially when it comes to old school guys. And garbagemon, I've posted my Ernie Ladd custom although it's more of a fix-up, I guess. I just swapped out a CS Ladd's torso with one of the molded jacket torsos and repainted it. To top it off I swapped out his hand with that of Umaga. That way, he has the dreaded and infamous taped thumb to ram into the throats of his unsuspecting opponents -Lol! As for future customs, have you considered a Eugene head as a base for Mighty Igor? The hair may need resculpted a bit but I've always thought it was a pretty close resemblance. Furthermore, if you want to tackle a Mil Mascaras custom (a former IWA Champion, no less!), I may have an extra recast Mil Mascaras head that I acquired from another member here a few years ago. If I can find it, I'd be more than happy to send it to you. Here's my Ernie Ladd fix-up, by the way:

I'm a little sad that no one has yet to comment on these, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of members here may have never even heard of Crybaby Cannon, Eric the Red, or the IWA. I,for one, think these are awesome as I am a great fan of the IWA (and old school wrestling in general). I grew up watching Mid Atlantic Wrestling so when I discovered the IWA in the early 80's, it was the first chance for me to see a lot of the guys who I had only heard of or seen in magazines. But I digress.....
Sticking to topic, I really dig these figures. It's great to see something different from the norm and I don't think I've ever seen any customs of these two before. They're great likenesses and I've love to know what figures you used. Is Eric the Red an RA figure? The lettering and the small flags on Cannon's jacket are a nice touch (decals?). The use of a "real" IWA backdrop just makes it that much cooler. Just a great job overall.
Any chance of more IWA guys in the future? I'd love to see guys like Mighty Igor, Tex McKenzie, or Bulldog Brower. In fact, I have an old IWA-inspired Ernie Ladd custom that I'll post here later. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I'm a long time member but don't post much or even visit these boards much anymore due to work, life, and sometimes pure laziness however I must comment on these. I love old school, and I love the Jakks RA style so needless to say, I love all of these. I don't know that I've ever seen a Kobayashi or Kansai custom before - a phenomenal job on them both. The use of a HHH (I'm assuming?) head for The Sheik was interesting. I dare say its just as good a likeness if not better than the CS version that Jakks released way back when and I love the foreign object! Kabuki? Another great job. He was one of favorites and I like the spewing green mist effect you gave him. As a fan of old Florida wrestling I truly marked out for the Sullivan, Haze, & Hart customs. I never really liked the CS Sullivan that Jakks made - you knocked it out of the park. I did an old Sullivan custom years ago but with different face paint. Your version is the one I had originally wanted to do, and yours looks tons better then how mine would have turned out.
I used to do a lot of customs of mostly old school guys (including sculpting and even dabbled a bit in casting my own repro heads). However, I haven't picked up a brush in well over 2 years now. I still have a ton of parts though, and seeing your work is quite the inspiration for me to start back up.
Who is standing behind the Bruno custom? It looks like Ted Arcidi or maybe Scott Norton, but I can't quite make it out.
Lastly, I'd be interested to know what parts you used, atleast for the heads. You can PM me if you'd prefer. Again, just an absolute fantastic job on these - hope to see more from you!
