He was having a really strong run in 2001 (see Royal Rumble that year) and was a big part of the Two Man Power Trip angle along with Taker- even taking the IC title from Triple H. I think he has suffered a bit from what I call "Big Show Syndrome"- hes been turned heel to face back to heel so much that people lose interest. Just look at his most recent run. He was brought back as an unstoppable monster heel and then went into "anger management" in about a 6 month span.

Yes L5 Macho is in orange. I made a WM5 elite custom of Macho Man using that fig. Acetoned off the stars and used L6 Warrior knee pads, along with a spam cape. Theres a pic of it in my collection pics. Might have to get a purple "Macho Man" decal for the back of the tights from Dean to finish it off though.

I dont know how he would have fit in 95, but in my 1996/1997 EWR diary he had a heck of a feud with Owen Hart!
In reality, I dont think he would have made much noise in 1995 when the Kliq was running the show and bad gimmicks abounded. However, I think he would have been a nice fit in 96-98. I think he would have been able to showcase his skills in the ring more and would have been a good fit in the Hart Foundation

I think for it to really seem like a "take over" it had to be Hogan because he still had very strong WWF ties. I dont think people would have bought into the "WWF sent these guys over" vibe if it was Sting.

The hardest part of booking this would be the match itself. The lead up I think would have been pretty easy.
Following Mania, Bret has a few month feud with Lex Luger (they planted the seeds for this at the Mania brunch when Luger knocked Bret out) while Hogan builds up to KOTR with Yoko.
KOTR: Hogan beats Yokozuna to retain the title, Bret wins KOTR (maybe by beating Luger in the Finals), and possibly a Hogan/Bret staredown to end the show.
SummerSlam: Bret goes over Hogan (pick your poison here- either submission, quick pin, Hogan passes out in Sharpshooter, interference from Yoko/Luger causing Hogan to lose, etc). Bret would not have been turned heel here either.

I know it seems Ryback turned heel on Cena last week, but judging by Cena's promo earlier in the night and his body language with the crowd even before being attacked by Ryback, do you think Cena could be played as a tweener simialr to Bret Hart back in 97?
I would envision it similar to Bret being cheered in Canada but booed in the US. Cena would really play up his squeaky clean image and talk about winning his matches fairly and being a role model to kids and his work with Make a Wish, etc. whereas Ryback would be the powerful ass-kicking machine. Cena would continue to be cheered by kids and probably women while Ryback would be supported by the men/adult audience. I know this audience split will probably take place anyway, but have Cena actually embrace it and be a bit of a tweener, scolding those in the audience who boo him due to how good of a guy he is. Thoughts?

Thanks to ataris I hit up TRU on Outer Loop today and picked up a BAF Christian and Prime Time Players BP!
Went to Target and the WM is Hillview and Fern Creek looking for Damien Sandow but no luck, though the WM in Hillview had gotten shipments of that basic series. Plenty of Sin Cara, Rey, etc but no Sandow or Tensai.

Hogan jobbing in Japan is one thing. Hogan jobbing in the WWF, at the peak of popularity, to a tag team, is another. No way I believe Hogan would have put LOD over
