What was the plan for nwo going to be had Nash not tore his quad I think the plan was going to be that the nWo would eventually become HBK, Nash, HHH, and X-Pac (assuming HHH would go along with this. Word was that he wanted nothing to do with the nWo) I always found it interesting that at the PPV when the nWo confronted Triple H in the back and hugged him, Nash had a new shirt on with the number 4 on it instead of the usual nWo shirt. I always wondered if this was going to be the new "Kliq" shirt (4 members: Nash, HBK, HHH, Pac)

I used to love going to TRU and finding Hasbros. They always had a good selection of them when they first came out. My first two figs were Jake Roberts and Warrior in his white attire.
As for playing with the figs, since I was a little younger when Hasbros were out I would just switch out the figs and play up the current storylines and characters. However, once BCAs came out, I started doing my own angles and characters. I even had a fig fed here on the forums for a while back in the day.

IMO the KOTR win is not what launched Austin into the upper card. Yes it did give us the Austin 3:16 promo, but remember that after winning the KOTR in June, Austin was on the Free For All against Yokozuna at SummerSlam in August! Austin rose up the card because he was given a feud with Bret Hart that fall and was handpicked by Hart himself.
I think this is also why a 97 win was better for HHH. Had we won in 96, and then not been given an upper card feud with a top star like Austin was, he would have continued to muddle around the mid card. It was his win in 97 IN ADDITION to a good feud with Mankind that elvated him.
So really, I dont think the title of "King of the Ring" alone in actuality did much for Austin or HHH.

Didn't he also legit break his nose twice during the time of the wedding angle and feud with trips? That might have derailed him a but too.

Why was he trying to put on weight? I may be wrong, but I think in the Samoan culture weight/girth is enviable. Its seen as a sign of success/wealth/respect

Since Flair had the title, I would assume the list was all faces. Assuming this I would think it might look like: Bret Hart British Bulldog Undertaker Warrior Mr. Perfect
The sixth spot is probably the most up for debate. Maybe Crush? Maybe Tito Santana ( if his stories are to be believed though I doubt it).

I think they just needed a hook to generate buys for the PPV, and guaranteeing a title change was a good one in my eyes. I remember buying that PPV just for that reason. However, booking wise, I dont think they saw any reason to have any of the titles change hands, so they pulled the Bulldog/Owen switch so they could have an easy loop hole to return the titles back the next night. Though Im not sure why they then had them drop the titles to the Gunns right off the bat. I would have at least waited until the next PPV.
