Hey y'all. So over the past month or so I've gotten the itch to focus on some other lines now that I feel pretty good about my Mattel collection (partly inspired by Zack R's collection photos from recent months). I already had a complete Hasbro loose collection from when I was a kid, but I got out of the game for a while so I missed out on some pretty cool sets. I was crushed when WWF changed from Hasbro to Jakks, so even though I had the first couple of BCA series I stopped after that (and stopped watching wrestling for a decade or so starting around then). While I was never a fan of the modern RA/DA Jakks figures, in hindsight I realized that the BCA line looks pretty great and is a fun representation of the Attitude Era. So ... with some help from Chicago (thanks again!) and some other research, I went on a little spending spree. The best part is that these figures haven't gone up in price like LJNs and Hasbros; I originally bought two large loose lots on the bay but was deeply disappointed by how damaged they looked. Luckily, because of the reasonable prices, I went nuts and bought the best carded versions of each character; right now I'm missing only two (Brian Christopher and Skull, and 3 if we include "Cameraman") ... I've got a few multiples for my favorite characters but I'm glad that I've been following the 1 per character rule lately with lines like these (and modern Mattels), it makes a lot of sense to me when the whole idea of a "complete set" gets a bit out of hand. I got really lucky in that there was a local seller from the Bay whom I bought like 20 figures from and was able to do so in person to cut out the shipping. It might be a little crazy to buy carded versions of all of these and open them all but to me they look 1000 percent better this way (I've been doing this with some LJNs and that is borderline insane on my part, I admit). Anywho, here's what I've got (I don't include the pre-Attitude Era ones here, I've got those elsewhere): Now it's on to finishing sets of LJNs, Galoobs, OSFTM and Bend-ems!

I'm honestly surprised RSC hasn't started an Exclusive "Legends" line. Unless the popularity truly isn't there for an entire line and would cost both Mattel/Ringside. Same here, like you said unless the costs/total amount of figures just doesn't add up somehow. I know Matty Collector sucked as far as distribution/shipping cost/etc. went but I would totally be down with a RSC Legends subscription service.

I hear ya, and I've posted about my issues with this before. I find what works for me is clearing house with some older figures that I no longer feel the need to keep around any longer -- whether it's because I have a better version of that character now or simply lost interest. I keep all flashbacks but when it comes to the modern roster I've tried to thin out to only 1-2 favorites per character (I've tried a strict "one" but that's too limited for me, lol). It may not be the most financially prudent way to go but it seems to work for me.

Just because we're getting a new line called Entrance Greats doesn't necessarily mean that we're getting a base with music again, just a thought ...
Edit: My bad! I didn't see that video. My initial thought was that elite Entrance Greats would essentially be the same (and possibly take over) for Defining Moments, but the music base means they'll be more like the old ones. Cool either way!

1. Like everyone's said, I have no idea why these weren't announced this weekend, lol. 2. I absolutely love the potential of these "epic moments" sets, as somebody who loves specific attires from big matches/moments/etc. But man do I worry about a line like this selling enough due to the cost, just like the initial Defining Moments run, legends four-packs, etc.

I can't see how anyone's disappointed. There has to be at least ONE figure that appeals to everyone individually on this board. They showed a ton of different stuff. Only reason I can see why they were able to do Kurt and Not Hardyz was because Kurts return was announced like a month before Mania. Bill probably got right to work on it. Hardyz made a surprise return at Mania that barely anyone was smartened up to. Bill is definitely working on them as we speak. Just be patient. As much as I hate the complaining and moaning over little things (like The Great Bicep Debate of 2017), it's perfectly fair to be underwhelmed or disappointed this time around compared to previous SDCCs. It always makes me laugh when people get super excited for modern figures -- ooh, I can't believe we got a new Bray!! -- like, of course we're going to get new versions of current characters. Duh. Prior SDCC's had a ton of surprises. Last year's was phenomenal and had a ton of unexpected faces (plus the debut of the retro line, for example). Other SDCCs had big debuts like Hogan, Razor and Sting. This time around I would have been shocked if we didn't see Angle or the Hardys. Was hoping for some surprises on top of that, not that Angle may be the only "big" new addition. Still hopefully more to come, and there's still plenty of figures I'm going to buy. But it still feels underwhelming compared to previous years, and I think that's a perfectly rational take to have.

I love how Greg Valentine has somehow become the new Legend Killer Randy Orton, where people all of the sudden go nuts wanting him. I'd love Valentine, too, but there's a whole lot of 80s guys on the same level that are worthy of a figure as well ...

Yeah, I zoomed in, Angle clearly has the ab crunch and elite legs. Calm down everyone, lol.

Per WWE Twitter, Angle is part of 2018 Entrance Greats line.

I may be misremembering, but I heard something like that somewhere. It may have been that Quake left because they were about to make him job to Yoko on house shows, etc. And maybe that's bad information. I think it was Meltzer or Prichard. From what I read or heard (I don't remember if it was Meltzer or Prichard podcast), Earthquake was pissed about having to job to Yokozuna consistently or something like that which led to him quitting. I think Typhoon was brought in as a bit of an emergency replacement because Quake left pretty abruptly. I could be wrong but I remember researching it because I was confused about it all too, lol. After looking at some of results from 1994, Earthquake did get a lot of wins against Yokozuna and Bam Bam Bigelow. In his last televised match, Earthquake went over Yokozuna on the 5.16.1994 RAW. As far as Typhoon's televised matches in 1994, here is the list: WWF @ Erie, PA - May 25, 1994 (3,500; papered)WWF Superstars taping:6/25/94:Typhoon pinned Quebecer Pierre (w/ Johnny Polo) at 5:49 with the splash (Typhoon's return match) WWF @ White Plains, NY - Westchester County Civic Center - June 20, 1994 (3,400; sell out; heavily papered)Monday Night Raw taping:6/20/94:Typhoon pinned the Black Phantom with a splash at 2:45 WWF @ Wilkes-Barre, PA - Wilkes University Marts Center - June 21, 1994WWF Superstars taping:7/16/94:Typhoon defeated Yokozuna (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette) via disqualification at 3:49 when Crush interfered and tripped Typhoon as he ran the ropes; after the bout, Typhoon fought off both men before eventually being double teamed; Joey Marella was the referee for the bout, notable for the fact he was killed in a car collision two weeks before the match aired WWF @ Poughkeepsie, NY - Mid-Hudson Civic Center - June 22, 1994Wrestling Challenge taping:7/3/94:Typhoon pinned Corey Student with the splash WWF @ Bethleham, PA - Stabler Arena - July 2, 1994 (3,000)7/31/94:Yokozuna & Crush (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette) defeated Mabel & Typhoon WWF @ Youngstown, OH - Beeghly Center - August 1, 1994 (8,000; heavily papered)Sunday Night Slam - 8/21/94WWF IC Champion Diesel (w/ Shawn Michaels) pinned Typhoon in a non-title match at around 4:20 with a boot to the face and clothesline Typhoon's last match: WWF @ Tacoma, WA - Dome - August 18, 1994 (6,000)The Barbarian (sub. for Yokozuna) pinned Typhoon Source: www.thehistoryofwwe.com/94.htm

I was always more of a WWF guy as a kid but from what I remember of watching WCW my dad I and loved the Hollywood Blondes. Who would have known what they would turn into (and what Pillman would have further turned into had it not been for the injuries and his untimely passing).

Hey guys, here's a random question. Is the LJN figure of Ted Arcidi supposed to have a drastically different skin tone than the other figures with a similar complexion? Instead of a beige, mine is more of an orange/yellow type of deal. From what I can tell it looks like that's the case with him compared to other LJNs online but I just wanted to ask the experts to make sure I don't have one that has changed color from the sun, old age, etc. Got it via the bay a few weeks back.

I hope tomorrow is great, because while there is good stuff being shown, I'm just not as excited as usual. Could be the stuff being so spread out. I already had time to come down off of yesterday's reveals. I hear ya. I'm all about not overreacting and I hated the complaining and moaning yesterday on here. But, all of that said, unless they're saving something big for tomorrow, it's very fair to say that this year's SDCC is underwhelming compared to previous years. I thought beforehand that I was going to be shocked if we didn't at least see teasers for Angle, Hardy and flashback Goldberg -- I thought they'd be the big reveal at the panel, like other years -- and though they could come tomorrow it's still been underwhelming overall.

Macho Man is one of the top 5 WWE performers of all-time. In my personal opinion, top 3. Keep 'em coming.

I love this board and spend a ton of time on here but I seriously think next year I'm going to avoid this thread entirely for SDCC. My God, the complaining is out of this world. It's bumming me out.

im confused.....wasn't all the big reveals in past SDCC's on Friday/Saturday? aren't we still in "preview" mode? Almost all of the past years featured the big reveals during the panel (Hogan, Sting, Razor, etc.) but last year was definitely different and it seems as if this year is patterned off of last year. Here's RSC's photo pages for each of the three days last year: www.ringsidecollectibles.com/san_diego_comic_con_2016_mattel_wwe_figures.htmlPretty much same as today's first day, a couple of elite series, a couple of basic series, something special involving the panel. Last year almost all the big flashbacks came on Day 2, with the hasbros and a few more flashbacks on day 3. So hopefully everyone can relax a bit, lol.
