I hav almost read all of the Hitman book now, and I suppose it is written to make me dislike Shawn Michaels. But if all the things he said are correct then its quite hard not to! Has anybody else thought this too? I knew he was hard work but have only really been watchin wrestling since he was a 'christian'
Any other parts of the book that have changed ur view on any other wresters or even Bret? Thought it was gud overall.

I think he should get the over it. It's been over 10 years and he's still bitching left, right and center. Shawn and Vince got over it, we got over it, why can't he? I'm a HUGE Bret Hart fan and he was my favourite up until I was about 14, but he needs to build a bridge and get over it.

Bret has or at one point moved on, but HBK & Vince kept involving the screwjob in current storylines or promos. I'm one of Bret's biggest fans and I know his dislike for HBK. WHile I enjoy some of HBK's matches, I'm not a big fan of his and have never really cared for him. On a different note, many wrestlers have expressed their dislike for HBK. The Rock has flat out refused to wrestle HBK due to Michael's mistreatment of him back in 1996/1997 during Rock's rookie year. It has been made apparent that in 1998 and in prior years HBK was a prick to many and stepped on a lot of people's toes.

It does not change my view of HBK at all. I know HBK was not the greatest guy in the world back then, but he has changed. He is not like that anymore. Bret is still the same ol' crybaby he always was. He has this thirst to be right all the time, and a desire for people to side with him. He is very bitter and it is quite annoying. He's old, and all he can remember is the MSJ (which was his own fault for refusing to give up the belt when HE WAS LEAVING! He made the decision to go to WCW. Vince made the decision to take the belt of Bret at SS, but Bret did not want to. You can't do that. It doesn't work. Bret was too full of himself to lose the belt the right way, so Vince and HBK did what they had to do. Not necessarily a honest thing to do, but Bret leaving for WCW wasn't the nicest thing to Vince, either...both were business decisions, and both men did what they thought was necessary. It is over, Bret. Stop whining. We do not feel sorry for you.

If Bret wrote a book about his life why would he just forget the things with shawn ever happened. It was one the biggest things ever, he can't just leave it out and not give his opinion.

Bret Hart used to be my favorite wrestler, but since I read his book, he isn't anymore.
He whines ALOT, not only in his book.

Bret ever wanted to forfeit the belt the next night on RAW (I believe that was the plan had the MSJ not had happened). Also, Vince told Bret to go to WCW because the WWF at the time could not pay him the money on his contract due to the poor business condition the company was in. Thus Vince HELPED Bret leave the WWF to go to WCW. Here is a link, scroll down a little bit, and do yourself a favor and read the facts regarding the MSJ www.100megsfree4.com/wiawrestling/pages/wwf/wwemontreal.htm

I try to see it from all of their points of view, and do not favor a side, because noone really knows what the whole story was aside from the 5-6 people involved. But some people have a complex with forgiveness when they have been hurt. He may be over it and just appears to still let it bother him just because of his mannerisms and dialect, you never know, but it was obviously a big deal for everyone around the incident, so I wouldn't ride him to hard. Wrestling was his livelyhood, it's what defined him and his family, what Bret was asking wasn't a lot, but I can't defend him because I don't know the "whole story", but I can say if it still bothers him today, it must have been a really big deal. With all of the craphe's dealt with since then and it still lingers, man, that must say something.

Bret just recently said in an interview to the Wrestling Observer Radio or whatever that no one in wrestling including HHH and HBK has ANY psychology. After he said that, I have no plans to read his book which I am sure bashes HBK to the hilt. I have always had a love/hate thing with Hart. Love the wrestling Hart, meaning, I love seeing his matches. I do not doubt he was a tremendous wrestler. I do not doubt that BACK THEN HBK was not a great guy. OK? The "hate" part is his constant whining about the past. His constant whining about Montreal. His continual bashing of the product. Did he see the matches at No Mercy that HHH and HBK had? Get ing real!! He also said everyone tries to wrestle like Edge. WHat was that supposed to mean? Was that a backhanded compliment? I thought Edge , if Bret means everyone didn't have psychology. I am tired of his bitterness towards WWE. Did he get treated "badly?" Maybe depending on your view of things. Bret has to learn to put things in the past and stop holding grudges. He got upset at some banquet with some author who years ago ranked him 14th in some book. Ok, you can dispute the ranking, but this book was written YEARS AGO. Get over it Bret!! I just do not like Bret all that much because of the whining he does. He is a very nice guy as I have met him once. It is just the whining he has done and continues to do that I just think puts a pall over his great matches , at least for me. JMO

HBK is changed person, ya he used to be a douche bag back then but he's a totally different person now and Bret Hart needs to realize that and get over it already.

If your brother was killed because of WWE. If your legacy was forever tarnished because of the lies of Vince and HBK you'd be bitter to. Get over it? If he hadn't been screwed over because of Shawn's antics and Vince's need to destroy his stars before they left than Owen wouldn't (imo) been in that stupid costume coming down from the rafters. IF Owen was allowed to leave he wouldn't have gotten killed. Before you say get over it remember what was taken from him, alot more than pride my friends.

Bret got in that situation because of money. If he would've just stayed put, he would've had a job for life and would possibly still be wrestling. There would've been no screwjob, no concussion, no nothing.
But he wanted money. So he got what he wanted, and it ended his career because of it.

It's much easier for any one of us to say that he should "stop whining" or "get over it already," except for the fact that his legacy was tarnished with the WWF because of the MSJ and he lost his brother because of it. After reading Bret's book, I learned a few things about his personal life that I had not known before, but it did not change my views of Shawn Michaels. I already knew all of the stories about Shawn from the mid to late-90s but he'll still always be one of my favorite wrestlers/performers to ever step in the ring. However, I did enjoy Bret's book more than Shawn's, as I trust Bret's word more and preferred his unfiltered writing. I doubt we will ever hear Shawn go off on anyone like we all know he could, as he may be a born-again christian, but he hasn't completely changed since those days 10-15 years ago. That's what I want to see (read) from Shawn, almost as much as I would love to see the two in the same room together before either of them die one day.

The past is the past it cant be changed. The future is the only thing we can do something about. Bret needs to forget it.
