Hitting is a lot harder in MLB 09 The Show.....you reeeaaally have to stay back on pitches. I found myself WAY out in front most of the time the first time I played the demo. I have always struggled with hitting in the first two innings in an '08 game, then I score little by little. The way I win games is by pitching. On '08 I have had 4 no hitters, 5 one hitters, and 4 two hitters. All of those games were won 4-0 or 3-0, or something like that. In a way I'm kind of like the Yankees in real life every year, I get a lot of hits, always have guys on base, but I have trouble scoring. I'll get 10-15 hits a game, but usually only score 3 or 4 runs.

Just something cool I saw while playing the demo. Cole Hamels hit a double, and then when he was on base he was wearing a jacket like some pitchers do. Nice touch.
And whats this new Legend difficulty?

Any idea if there will be 40-man rosters that we can use in Spring Training? I find in the past years of the game, it's tough to do spring training because you pretty much have to use your regulars every game because you only have 3 or 4 guys on your bench, so they all get tired pretty fast.
Hopefully they let you use your 40 man in spring training and set your 25 before the season, and then do September call ups.

Just picked up MLB '09: The Show. The video game store across from my house always gets sports games about a week early. Haven't played it yet, but I will in a little bit.

Well, RTTS is better this time around, although I'm still just in Spring Training. Got drafted by San Diego Batting practice is fun to me but I'm not a big fan of the new baserunning controls. I haven't got around to much besides RTTS though. The new accessories you can put on your player are cool and graphically, the game is incredible. And the soundtrack is pretty sweet.

RTTS sounds pretty cool. At least you actually get drafted by a team. I hope you can actually succeed as a hitter. Can't wait to pick it up.

I'm doing good so far, started hitting just .111, but I'm up to about .320

I played about 20 minutes earlier. Jesus, I suck at hitting. This game is amazing though.

I played two games. I threw a shutout with CC the first game but got rocked the second game with AJ. I am finding it impossible to hit and drive in runs. And that new pitching meter is pretty difficult. Eh, practice makes perfect.

i got the game early today, and have played about 8 hours total....and man is this the best "The Show" to date. Graphics are amazing, the new Citi Field looks sweet, gameplay is great. Definitely worth the $59.99

This game is amazing. The only thing that bugs me is that Tropicana Field is always empty.
Just had a great game against the Yankees. Kazmir vs. CC
CC had a no-no going into the 6th, Yanks were winning 7-0. Then I hit a grand slam with Longoria, three run homer with Pena, and a 3 run home run walk off in the bottom of the 9th with Kapler. I have gotten better with timing in this game.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that is god terrible at hitting.
Played 3 games so far with the Red Sox and have gotten like 1 hit from Ortiz and Ellsbury has my only HR

Just from the Demo I knew hitting was a bitch. Haven't bought the game yet, will do before the regular season starts...

I hate how the native resolution is 720p again. I have to uncheck the 720p in the display settings to get full 1080p.

I'm very happy with the game. I like how I'm not going to win 149 games this season. I'm still in Spring Training (in Season mode) and am 6-3 so far.

I got this last night, and I'm very impressed. Citi Field looks amazing. I'm actually good at hitting so far. I'm a little confused with the way the 40-man roster works, but it's still good. As far as RTTS goes, I'm a little disappointed. It's PS2, so I kinda expected that they wouldn't have batting practice, but the only thing they did was make it harder as far as the attributes goes. I like the system, but it's gonna be much harder to be a pitcher. I got drafted by Houston, but I had to exit and remove memory off my memory card because there wasn't enough room. Now I'm just doing season mode. Can't wait to play some more.
