Just started RTTS, and 2nd game into AA , I break my leg running to first. 60 day DL.
I'm terrible at hitting.

Yeah I suck at hitting, I'm just constantly out in front, even on fastballs. I just can't seem to sit on a pitch long enough to really get a good hack at it.
And even with pitching, I can be in a good rhythm, and then all of sudden start getting crushed and I just can't stop the bleeding. I pitch shut out ball for 4-5 innings and then I'll give up 7 runs in an inning and there's just nothing I can do. I'll be throwing fastballs out of the zone and the CPU just hits 9 home runs per game off me, and these are nowhere close.
The game is incredibly difficult this year. I usually play on All-Star, but I am playing on veteran this year and I still have not won a game. I've played like 9 games so far and I just can't win. Even when I don't get crushed and I have like a 5-3 lead in the 9th, the CPU will just decide to tee off on me and win.

Yea Lozo I have the same problem. I feel like I'm getting the hang of hitting and will crush a homer or two and have a couple of singles and doubles but I just cannot win. I'll pitch great the first like 5 innings and blow up in an inning and can't recover. This game is so hard.

I completely agree. I'm doing rivarly mode mets/yankees. Johan has a 1 hitshutout going and I'm winning 5-0. Then Brett Gardner pinch hits, and hits a pitch low and way outside outta the park. Then they score 7 runs. I come back and tie it with a home run, and then they score another 3 runs. Unbelieveable.

I'm 0-2 in my franchise mode with the Sox. Only notable things have been a Youk, Pedroia, and Bay homeruns. Ortiz hasn't gotten extra bases yet and I hate Manny Delcarmen.

Just finished my first Franchise game with the Mets. Losing 2-0 in the bottom of the 8th, brought in Ramon Castro to pinch hit for Johan, Castro and Reyes single. Castillo grounds into a double play, and David Wright hit a 2 run homer.
Ended up winning on a Ryan Church single in the 9th.
This game is really hard, but it's a lot of fun.

Holy sh*t....I just won my first game too. This game is awesome. When I brought in Rivera in the 9th to save the game (7-5), he jogged in from the pen just like in real life and Joe Girardi was out there and everything. I can't wait to upload Enter Sandman to play when he comes out of the pen.
This game kicks serious ass.

In RTTS, what does training the break of a 4seam fastball do? Are you even supposed to train it?

In RTTS, what does training the break of a 4seam fastball do? Are you even supposed to train it? You want to train. Whether you're a pitcher or a hitter, training boost your points which add up and boost your level(s). |

But I never train the break of a 4seam fastball, my question is am I supposed to be and what it does cause 4 seam fastballs are supposed to stay straight, as opposed to a running fastball or 2 seam fastball. |

This game kicks serious ass. dude seriously, i uploaded enter sandman today and put it as riveras entrance and played a game just to see how it was, and when i saw that angle of mo coming in with enter sandman playing, just freaking amazing man. so far i am 2-2 with wins against the red sox and nationals and losses against the mets and red sox at fenway. the game is difficult but its a good change of pace. you have to work the pitcher and be a smart player. if you win too many games, the game becomes boring. |

So far I am 3-2 in this game. The atmosphere at away games are great, considering the 2 in the L column were on the road. I am getting better at pitching, although I HATE how where ever you set up the pitch, the actual ball is no where near where you put it. That is the best thing I have heard from people with 2k9, where ever you put the pitch is where it ends up.
BTW, Shining Wizard, what happens when you break your leg? Do you just fall down or something?

I put 'Enter Sandman' onto my PS3 and created a playlist for it just like in Smackdown vs RAW 2009.....but how do I get the song in the game? I'm not sure where to go to find the song in any of the menus. "Sounds of the show" seems like the likely place, but I can't find anywhere that clearly states I should upload my own custom tracks. I've read the booklet and still can't figure it out. Can anybody help? Thanks *edit* nevermind, I figured it out, my file was in WM format instead of MP3. I changed it, put it in the game, and it RUUUUULES. lol hahaha I also just put "This is why I'm hot" as A-Rod's walk-up music. It's the little things like having somebody's actual music that just make me sooooo happy.  |

I remember in MLB 2k7 I was playing and Roger Clemens got hit in the face with a line drive and he went down and Joe Torre came out and like cradled him in his arms and then the game told me I needed to take him out of the game.
That is the one thing I wish MLB 09 The Show had, and IGN listed it as a reason why the game is an 8.7 out of 10 because after all these years it's time to add some collision detection.
MLB 2010 The Show had better have guys be able to be hit with the ball and fielders able to crash into each other....I love this game, but in almost every game you play you will see guys running through eachother and the ball going through people. That is the only thing holding this game back from being perfect.

I finished spring training in RTTS yesterday. I'm a 1st basemen with the Giants. Not that bad. In spring traing I hit .356 with 9 hrs and 23 rbis. In the first month of AA todat I hit .282 with 4 hrs and 18 rbis. This game is awesome.

That is the only thing holding this game back from being perfect. yea i still dont like the fact that you can run through guys. however something did happen when i was playing someone online. im pitching with joba and the guy hits a liner and rocks joba and the ball ricochets back to posada and he throws the guy out at first. just crazy seeing the ball bounce like that. anyways, if anyone wants to face me, my sn is dadrumma. right now im 3-2 |

That happened to me....I watched the replay and the ball hit the pitching rubber. I was pissed because all the CPU is single me up the middle to death, and when I hit a single up the middle it bounced off the rubber and back to the catch and I get thrown out, lol.
Soooo not fair.
