I've made up my mind. I'm picking Sonnen in this fight. I don't give a damn what anyone says or thinks. I think he stands a hell of a chance of pulling off the major upset. I don't know how he will win or what round, I just believe he will. I also believe "Big Country" will defeat Junior and move his way into title contention. I think this is a tremendous card from top to bottom and I'm really looking forward to it. I agree completely. Everybody expects Silva to win, but I have no doubt in my mind Sonnen will win. Sonnen is an amazing fighter (as is Silva), but I see Sonnen with either the decision or a submission victory. |

I'll catch hell for this or have people jump on me explaining it won't happen, but does anyone else want to see what would happen if Silva clowns/not really engages Sonnen like he did Maia the last 3 rounds in their fight? Personally, I want to see if Dana would actually have the nards to fire Anderson like he said it would. We all know he most likely won't do anything but it would be interesting to see how he spins the performance as a way not to fire him
I don't think Anderson will toy with Sonnen but if he does, that post fight press conference would be interesting.

I fully plan on laughing my ass off when Anderson finishes this up just as quick as other fights. Sonnen has done nothing to impress me, inside or outside the octagon. The only thing he's done worth noting is beating a guy Silva'a already beaten. And you want to talk about who does or doesn't finish fights? Last time I checked, Sonnen went 3 rounds and won a decision against Nate. Anderson finished it in the first.
I'll give Sonnen props for selling the hell out of this fight, and talking some Frank Mir ****. But there's nothing about Anderson's last performances, any of Sonnen's performances, or anthing the media's saying or writing that makes me think for a second that Silva is going to end this.

Chael Sonnen is so delusional that its funny i cant wait to see Anderson rip him apart......... There is NOTHING that Chael does or is better at than Silva in any facade whether it be striking, grappling or in the clinch.... Its insane the things that comes out his mouth.

My guess would be Sonnen's wrestling is what gives him so much confidence, since Silva has had trouble with great wrestlers. I see this fight going to at least the 2nd round, with Silva being taken down at least once. The thing about Silva is that he's great at keeping his cool while on the ground, to the point where he doesn't waste all of his energy trying to get a better position.

Regardless if Sonnen gets knocked out in the first 10 seconds, he has single-handedly brought in TONS of buy-rates for this PPV.
