Take it for what you will, but Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times supposedly talked to Lorenzo Fertitta, and had this to say:
UFC will stage Anderson Silva-Chael Sonnen rematch on New Year's Eve or Super Bowl card, depending on Silva's hurt ribs.
Not sure if I agree with the decision for a rematch or not, but Sonnen definitely dominated Silva and did a hell of a job hyping the fight. I was sort-of hoping for Belfort vs. Sonnen in November, but I guess that changes those plans. Vitor is still scheduled for November though.

Sonnen vs. Belfort made a LOT more sense than an immediate rematch.
Even though Sonnen dominated Silva he lost by submission. It didn't go to a decision. So there really should be no dispute.
But whatever...I really would love to see a rematch. Their first match was amazing. I just didn't think it would be happening so soon.

I will also say this: All these immediate rematches in the UFC have to ing stop. It's getting crazy now. Atleased have the loser fight someone credible to get a rematch first.

Well, If Sonnen tapped and Silva did not leave it to the judges then I think GSP should not have been given a rematch against Serra. Just saying.

He wasn't given a rematch. He fought Koscheck, Hughes, then fought Serra.

He wasn't given a rematch. He fought Koscheck, Hughes, then fought Serra. Well Wiki then because they show him losing to Serra then getting a rematch back to back on his record. Thank you for setting me straight James. I have not been into MMA all that long. But who else is there? Belfort? Nate the Great? EDIT: My bad again, I was reading Serras Wiki. My fault.

Okami, Belfort and I think Leben can be right there if he gets another big win like the last one, but I would say it's more or less between Belfort and Okami.

Wandy, and Bisping as well, if Bisping gets his craptogether and be more consistent. Leben should get a shot I think, I just think he puts his chin out way to much.

However, it is Wandy though so maybe a fight or two could put him right back in this thing. If you had to rank the middle weights though how would you do it? In terms of getting a title shot?

Belfort (Just on principal, he's a great fighter and I think he'd give Silva a good run for his money) Sonnen Okami Marquardt (Although he needs another dominating win)

Leben vs. Anderson II would be amazing. Especially if Leben could really build some momentum in the MW division and if it were to be Andersons last fight in the UFC.
I think Anderson would still wreck Leben but I love watching Leben fight. The guy is literally uncapable of having boring fights. He has so much heart.

yeah Leben takes WAYYYYY to many shots to the chin. It pisses me off that he doesn't cover up more or use more head movement. It is nice to know he can take a solid shot to the chin but there are only so many times you can get punched like that without getting KTFO.

yeah! After this, hopefully Chris Leben is given a shot. Leben/Sonnen and Leben/Silva are both great fights.

Leben still isn't up there. The win over Akiyama was huge, but he needs a few more big ones to move up the ladder.
