Well I have all my Mattel figures MOC except two that I got online loose, and I have to say that the stands that came with them really did add to the figures because they made it so much easier to stand. But I was always glad to know that if I opened my MOC Mattel figures that they would have stands to stand on and look wicked on display in loose form.
It probably does have to do with cost, and I get that totally, but they shouldn't have included the stands with the basic series or the tag sets then. Because now we want that all the time with them. I can see Elite, Legends and Entrance Greats having stands, because we do pay more money for those figures. But to give ups stands with Basic line and then stop, that just kind of sucks.
I also get that kids don't care for the stands because they buy the figures to play with, but I kind of thought (and figured) that is what the Flex Force line was for, the kiddies. Not for us - and for the record I never really heard anyone say anything good about the Flex Force line anyhow, so why not just stop making them all together - that would totally save on money.

I enjoy the Flex Force line. They remind me of Hasbros.

WOW. I can understand that some might be upset because they take away from displays, but for me they were taking up to much space for me.
But to react the way some of you are to this is border lined childish. I like that I have a stash of these in the case that I choose to make a small display I can use them. But to sit there and throw a temper tantrum over it is just ridiculous.
And as far as the flex force goes I buy them for my little nephew all the time and he loves them.

If they are no longer going to come with Elites and Legends, I will most likely stop collecting these.

Here's a thought. Instead of cutting the stands and name tags, how about cutting the PPV sets. Lots of people still haven't even found Basic 6 because the PPV series are clogging shelves. Not to mention the overabundance of "Best of..." figures. Instead of skipping the stands and name tags, skip the repaints and you'll make a lot of people happy + save money on paint, plastic, and packaging.

I love how everyone acts like Mattel is becoming like Jakks, just because of a piece of plastic and piece of cardboard. Yes, I love the stand, but I recently took them off the stands to allow for more room. I love my Mattel Collection, and don't ever want to sacrifice detail for accesories. Especially something that we as collectors would've never thought of getting until Mattel came along. So, in short, Mattel is doing what's smart for them, without taking away the amazing detail they put into their figures. Maybe, later on in the year, we will get belts with the figures. It's possible, but we'll just have to wait and see.

it's understandable, and besides, maybe they are cutting costs, because figures like Hardy, Regal, and certain two packs, elites, etc are still clogging up pegs, I wonder if mattel takes a hit for stores not reordered alot because the ones that they have on shelves are not selling as well.
People want details and more accessories, yet wont let the mattel team cut out display stands to keep these awesome add-on's

Considering my stands and name tags go into a baggie then into a box...I'm a happy camper with this news.

Ya know, this wouldnt be so bad, if the figures could stand on their own! I have a bunch of figures that just cannot stand without the stand.

At first I was kind of mad at this news, but it really doesn't bother me with the basic figures, but if they don't have stands with elites or fix the feet then we are going to have some problems.

I just want to say I'm a MOC collector and I do have the figures I really like 2x to display loose and MOC!!!! The display stands are good for the elites but the basic figures stand very fine!!!! As far as packaging I love it and I think they are doing a great job with it not like the cheap TNA Jakks figures packaging that u can't keep MOC because they just fall apart by itself!!!! I had my TNA figures MOC but the bubble just came right off so I had no choice but to have them loose!!!! Mattel is doin a great job and some people have to also think about MOC collectors and Mattel does that very well so for them to cut detail in general in a figure or packaging I'm fine with no plastic and cardboard!!!! I think it won't be to hard to find extra stands!!!!
