Not too sure about that. Daley is a different animal. He's one of the hardest punchers in the sport. I don't think BJ has too much KO power, but he is very accurate with counters.
It's a very even fight when you look at it. I love both fighters, but I think it comes down to cardio here. It will be even on the feet and on the ground as well. Both guys are Gracie black belts, so it will be interesting if it hits the ground too (which I don't think it will).
I leave for Vegas next Saturday. This week is going to be hell with work.

Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see on the 29th. Like you said, it's practically a mirror match, so it's really hard to make a case one way or the other, but I see and respect all your points James.
Good luck with your schedule. Sorry to hear it's going to be so hectic.

Still have today (Sunday) off, but from Monday to Friday, it's 11-hour shifts. God, I hate banks. Good thing they gave me the week of 137 off. Sometimes, it does pay to have an assistant manager position.

11 hours? Jesus cops don't even take that many hours a week. But hey at least you can pull rank with your position. lol I was tied down with school sh*t to do all weekend during 136. I even missed the expo because I was up until 5 the night before writing papers. I did luck off and meet Forrest who was signing pictures during the actual even that night though so I got to meet at least one of my favs.

Yeah, stylistically, the match-up for Penn/Diaz is about as close as they come. Great hands and great ground game. I will however take Penn's hands slightly over Diaz's, but ground game is up for grabs.
I'm picking Penn over Diaz because I think Penn has the ability to finish Diaz, but I don't think Diaz has the ability to finish Penn. Should be a close match.

Diaz has been clipped and dropped enough times to in past fights validate a prediction for Penn to win via TKO or KO. Diaz won't go to the ground with Penn unless BJ takes it there, he's already said that he's gonna stand with him, and Penn's never been dropped by anyone before. Not Edgar, not Hughes, not GSP, etc.I've got Penn by TKO or KO in this one too. This is why I slightly favor Penn... both guys have great stand-up, but Penn has an iron chin - while Diaz has shown (especially in the Daley fight) he can get hit and badly hurt. I don't think cardio will be too much of an issue... it's a 3 round fight, so even if Penn fades towards the end, he might have already done enough to win (or make it very close - like the Fitch fight). I take Penn by TKO or a points win. Should be very exciting though! And GSP has said in an interview that he DOES NOT want to move up weight to fight Silva, he says that he's too big for him. Hence, he's scared. There is talk about Bones Jones moving up to Heavyweight though.... ...isn't that more an issue of fact and common-sense, rather than being "scared" though? GSP is quite a bit bigger than Edgar... fact - so I doubt that Frankie would want to go up and fight him. Similarly, Jones is bigger and taller than Silva - and Silva doesn't appear too keen on fighting him (...did you see Silva's face when it was brought up?). For some reason though, it's become acceptable to pick on GSP for not wanting to fight Silva... even though he's said time and again how comfortable he is at WW, and if the fight did ever happen, he'd want time to build-up muscle and gain the weight naturally. People just seem to want him to go straight up and fight the greatest MW - and possibly pound-for-pound fighter - of all time in his first fight at the weight... where Silva has dominated for years. If not, I guess he must be "scared"...

Fully agree with SteveHulk. You're stupid if you think GSP can click his fingers, move up a weight class and still fight at a top level just like that. If he done that, Silva would annihilate him. GSP is simply stating facts. He's not scared, he's not stupid either.

He did say that Silva should fight a top welterweight before he fights him, which is laughable.

He did say that Silva should fight a top welterweight before he fights him, which is laughable. Yeah, if anything he should fight a top middle weight before fighting him.

Diaz was 45-plus minutes late onto today's conference call... Controversy at first, but it turns out it was probably just miscommunication.

Would have been funny if he said he was afraid to use a phone outside Stockton. I swear, those dudes are straight in their home town. When you get them out though they lose their minds.

I can't remember him ever saying it(?).
