WWE NXT - Thursday 8th May 2014 - Winter Park, FL (#220) Taped: Thursday 24th April 2014 - Broadcast on the WWE Network! "THE LONG, HARD ROAD TO UNLEASHED"
Tonight on NXT:
- It was under two months ago when Corey Graves betrayed his tag team partner Adrian Neville and left him injured in the middle of the ring. However six weeks after the assault by the 'Savior of Misbehavior', the 'Man That Gravity Forgot' is seeking revenge, and it could be settled tonight when Adrian Neville and Corey Graves clash in the Winter Park Street Fight.
- Last week Adrian Neville won a number one contender's battle royal to be able to challenge Bo Dallas for the NXT Heavyweight Championship in three weeks at NXT Unleashed. However Bo Dallas echoed last week that tonight he will address the NXT Universe and reveal his thoughts about the number one contender.
- We saw a lot of collusion and collision in the BFFs' camp two weeks ago during the fatal four-way Divas main event. However tonight, number one contender Charlotte will now have to team with Summer Rae and Sasha Banks to take on NXT Women's Champion Emma and the Funkadactyls in six-Diva tag team action. Will the BFFs be able to get along? Will Charlotte be able to make a statement three weeks before facing Emma at NXT Unleashed? We'll find out tonight.
- After Tyson Kidd turned his back on Sami Zayn by eliminating him from the number one contender's battle royal, and then assaulted him with a set of brass knuckles in the main event giving Kidd his first win in 2014; tonight we will hear from Tyson Kidd, who will hopefully explain why he did what he did.
After the opening WWE signature we went to a video package recapping the events of last week's episode, with the number one contender's battle royal taking place. In an action-filled twenty-man melee, it came down to former NXT Tag Team Champions turned rivals, Adrian Neville and Corey Graves. It was a battle, but in the end the 'Jumping Geordie' was able to pick up the win, cementing his spot in the NXT Unleashed main event, able to challenge Bo Dallas for the NXT Heavyweight Championship. Though after the match, Neville was confronted by his former tag team partner Graves, and the challenge was made: a Winter Park's Street Fight in the main event tonight, as two former partners collide for the very first time!
The video faded out, as the opening video package for NXT followed, showcasing the ensemble of stars in NXT today - among them being Bo Dallas, Sami Zayn, the Ascension, Emma, Corey Graves and Adrian Neville. We went to the Full Sail University where the theme of the NXT Heavyweight Champion Bo Dallas was playing, as Jason Albert, Renee Young and Byron Saxton welcomed us to the show, talking up the events, including the main event of Adrian Neville going one-on-one with rival Corey Graves in the Winter Park Street Fight. "I'll be surprised if there's an NXT Arena left after this collision", echoed Albert.(00:03)
"And here comes the most arrogant man walking the planet" spoke Byron Saxton, as the NXT Heavyweight Champion held his title high, Bo Dallas walking down to the ring to loud boos from the NXT Universe. As Bo, dressed in a casual suit entered the ring, he waved to the hundreds of booing fans in Winter Park, the NXT Universe not excited to see him. "Thankyou, thankyou, you're all so great", he commented in response. Suddenly, a "No More Bo!" chant began to drift through the NXT Arena, causing Bo to look confused. "You know the great thing about you fans, is that I owe so much to you...but at the same time it comes hand in hand, because you fans owe me so much! I've been the NXT Heavyweight Champion for nearly a year - and here's a fun fact, when I arrive at NXT Unleashed, I will have been YOUR champion for over one year! Isn't that great!?" he smiled, as the fans continue to boo and chant. "And it's a funny thing, we saw Seth Rollins win the NXT Heavyweight Championship. We saw Big E win the NXT Heavyweight Championship. But I am a champion for YOU, the fans! I gave you what you wanted, and that's a breath of fresh air. And I protected you from the people the non-Bolievers adore - people like Kassius Ohno and Sami Zayn. I did everything I could, and that is why you people owe me big time! But it's alright, I can wait", he obnoxiously spoke.
"Is he hearing this ovation?" questioned Renee Young, as Jason Albert responded "I'm hearing 'Go Bo Bo', what are you hearing? These people love him!", defending the champion. Bo Dallas meanwhile continued as he basked in the glow of the boos, thinking they're cheers. "And now, I have an opponent for NXT Unleashed. The 'Man That Gravity Forgot', they call him. And believe you me, after May 29th gravity won't be the only thing to forget about him. His name is Adrian Neville - and he's a young kid that I've seen progress through the ranks of NXT, and he did such a GOOD job last week when he became number one contender. But he lacks the Botivation, and the will to win like myself. And it's clear to me now: Adrian Neville is just a big fad! No wonder he's gotten so popular! But after I beat him and further extend my storied championship reign, he will disappear like Kassius Ohno. Why? Because he's not as good as I am!" he spoke. Dallas grinned obnoxiously as the fans began to chant "We want Neville!" at Bo. He looked around and spoke off-mic when suddenly...
The theme of Adrian Neville began to hit igniting the hostile NXT Universe, the fans turning to applause as the 'Man That Gravity Forgot' made his way onto the rampway, gracing his presence among the fans in attendance. "What is the meaning of this?" questioned Bo Dallas in the background, as Neville stood before him with a microphone in hand on the rampway. "I've heard you're adamant about NXT Unleashed, eh Bo. That's right I've heard ya talking about how I'm a fad that will go away. That you're gonna beat me at NXT Unleashed and that I'll be forgotten about. But the thing is, champ, I don't go away easily. I've been working to get this title shot for a long, long time. And I've seen ya around, beating guys by any means necessary. But understand this, my man: on May 29th at Unleashed, you're losing the NXT Championship." spoke Neville, defiant of the champion. Bo looked around before quickly retorting.
"You seem so sure, don't you Adrian. I admire your heart! It reminds me of a rookie Bo Dallas...but that's why I'm no longer a rookie. I am a full-fledged WWE Superstar, a future World Heavyweight Champion. What about you? At best you're going to be a Cruiserweight Champion - go you, kid!" the fans booed, as Bo Dallas cheaply pandered to the booing audience. Neville smirked, as he went to respond. "Bo, you can cockily deny everything for as long as ya like. But it doesn't change the fact that unlike everybody else you've beaten, I'm going to give the NXT Universe a champion to believe in. And I'm not going to let you sly your way past another big title defense!" he responded, as Bo stared down with Adrian...until suddenly Corey Graves came from behind, a big chop block to the previously injured leg of the 'Jumping Geordie'! Neville fell to the rampway on all fours, as the "Savior of Misbehavior" then began stomping away at the bad leg! "Corey Graves! He couldn't wait for later tonight, could he?" rhetorically asked Byron Saxton, as Jason Albert responded "A headstart for Corey Graves! Graves stomping the bad leg of the number one contender!" Graves stood tall over a hurting Adrian Neville, as Bo Dallas watched on from the ring, a big smile on his face holding the NXT Heavyweight Championship high. "The road to Unleashed is on, and it could be a long and hard one for the 'Man That Gravity Forgot'!
(00:10)
We cut to the backstage area where Devin Taylor was standing by with Tyson Kidd, Kidd removing his headphones to talk to Taylor. "Tyson, the NXT Universe is buzzing after you turned your back on friend Sami Zayn last week. So my question to you is why did you attack your friend?" Tyson put his hand in front of Devin's microphone suddenly. "Let me cut you off. I turned my back on Sami? Wrong. I shocked the NXT Universe? Wrong. Now here are some tidbits for you to understand. I won last week for the first time in seven months last week. FACT. I beat Sami Zayn. FACT. I beat Sami Zayn in under ten seconds. FACT. Does that make Sami Zayn weak? You know it. He was using me to get ahead, but now I'm in control of everything, and I'm going straight to the top from here on out. FACT." he spoke, before walking away putting his headphones back on. (00:11)
An advertisement aired, promoting new episodes of WWE Legends' House, exclusive to the WWE Network.
(00:12) DOLPH ZIGGLER def. BULL DEMPSEY - Last week Tyler Breeze was in singles action, victorious against Jason Jordan - but after the match 'Prince Pretty' again focused his attention on the 'Show Off', telling him to "beat that". And tonight he was out to do so, the WWE Superstar getting a big ovation from the appreciative NXT Universe. Ziggler went up against up-and-coming Performance Center talent Bull Dempsey, clad in a black singlet resembling some kind of long haired, big bearded animal. But Ziggler was able to sidesteps Dempsey's first few charges aiming to take down Ziggler, who charged to the occasion early on, delivering several big clotheslines managing to take Dempsey down, as Dolph then decided to come off the top rope with a big missile dropkick, unable to keep the unknown rising talent down for three. Ziggler then attempted a superkick, but Dempsey blocked it, a big headbutt taking Dolph down. Dempsey was now on offense, as he pounded away on Dolph, delivering a backbreaker and soon locking in a headlock: but Dolph soon began to fight back, breaking free of it eventually and nailing Bull with a big hanging DDT! The 'Show Off' was back on form now, as Ziggler's Zig-Zag attempt was blocked, but when Bull turned he was met with a superkick, which led to a successful Zig-Zag giving the former World Heavyweight Champion victory in 4:43. **
"Good win for Ziggler!" exclaimed Byron Saxton, as Dolph Ziggler's hand was raised to the NXT Universe's appreciation in Full Sail tonight. Ziggler continued to celebrate in the ring over Bull Dempsey, taking a microphone from ring announcer Eden Stiles. "So, how was that Tyler? And I hope you know. I'm coming for you next", said Dolph, in an exhausted post-match tone, as the fans applauded Ziggler in his quest to face Tyler Breeze. "One day he and Tyler Breeze will square off and it will be one for the ages" spoke Renee Young, as Ziggler began to leave. (00:19)
We cut to the Divas locker room, where Charlotte was shown preparing for her upcoming six-Diva tag team match when suddenly Summer Rae and Sasha Banks walked in, causing the 'Flair of NXT' to turn around and engage in a dramatic stare with both BFFs whom she managed to beat two weeks ago in a number one contender's match. The three shot daggers, before breaking out in hysterics and laughing. "I'm so proud of you!" cried Summer, as the three engaged in a tight squeeze. "We're gonna rule NXT when we beat Emma at NXT Unleashed!" spoke Summer, as Charlotte raised an eyebrow. "We? Girls, I'm so happy we're all cool and stuff, but I don't want to win the NXT Women's Championship with your help, ya know?" Sasha sensed some tension from Summer, who looked at Charlotte and said "Okay...that's fine. But tonight let's take care of business. Let's show everybody who the rulers of NXT are" bombastically smiled Summer, who then walked away. Sasha remained, 'the Boss' turning to Charlotte and asking "Is she okay?"
(00:20) We went to the office of William Regal, who now had a desk, chairs and posters on his wall, the General Manager finally having settled in to his office. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to announce two new matches for NXT Unleashed on May 29th. Tyson Kidd will take on Sami Zayn in what should be Sami's chance for retribution on his friend; and also Tyler Breeze will go one-on-one with the 'Show Off' Dolph Ziggler!", he smiled, happily presenting.( 00: 20)
- NXT UNLEASHED, MAY 29: Tyson Kidd has turned his back on his friend and is out to become his own man: however his first big test comes about when in three weeks he goes one-on-one against the man he stabbed in the back and humiliated last week, Sami Zayn.
- NXT UNLEASHED, MAY 29: For weeks these two men have been rivals, with 'Prince Pretty' adamant to prove that he is above the 'Show Off'. However on May 29 it will be a clash of the counterparts, as WWE's Dolph Ziggler meets NXT's Tyler Breeze.
THE BFFs def. NXT WOMEN'S CHAMPION EMMA & THE FUNKADACTYLS - Six-Diva tag team match was set to take place here with the Funkadactyls reigniting their recent rivalry with Sasha Banks and Charlotte of the BFFs; meanwhile the 'Flair of NXT' won a number one contender's match two weeks ago to gain the right to challenge Emma for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Unleashed in three weeks time. Emma and Summer Rae started off, with Emma immediately going on the offensive, the 'Dancing Queen' proving why she is the champion in her first in-ring appearance in a while due to minor injuries. Emma nailed Summer with the Emma-mite Sandwich then tagged in Cameron, who came in and tried her fair-share of offense, but the more experience Summer Rae took her down with a big boot. Summer brutalized Cameron, a lot more aggressively than we've seen in the past; as Summer then took to tagging in Sasha Banks; 'the Boss' working away on Cameron further. Banks and Summer worked over Cameron before Charlotte came in and added to it; the 'Flair of NXT' working the leg. But soon, Cameron made a comeback, an enzuigiri taking down Summer Rae! Naomi got the tag, as she took down Summer and then Sasha Banks as well with the Rear View, before Charlotte came in with the Natural Selection on Naomi! Suddenly, Charlotte found herself face to face with NXT Unleashed opponent Emma, as the NXT Universe began to cheer loudly. Emma and Charlotte were about to face off, when suddenly in the corner of the ring, Summer Rae covered Naomi, and stole the victory in 7:29! **
The NXT Universe booed as Summer Rae rolled out of the ring quickly, Rae celebrating with Sasha Banks at ringside whilst Charlotte remained in the ring staring down Emma. Charlotte looked back in confusion, as the her fellow BFFs had scored the victory without her even paying attention. "Summer Rae may have just upstaged Charlotte!" spoke Byron Saxton, as Jason Albert responded, "But it worked because her team won, why doesn't she look happy with Summer and Sasha?"(00:30)
An advertisement aired, promoting the next NXT on WWE Network special: NXT Unleashed, live on May 29 featuring Adrian Neville challenging Bo Dallas for the NXT Heavyweight Championship.( 00: 31)
We returned to NXT to see Danny Burch and Oliver Grey stood outside in front of a brick wall, as an police or ambulance siren was heard in the distance. "A few weeks ago, we made out NXT redebuts, and it felt grand. We aren't going to let anybody get ahead of us anymore." spoke Burch. "We are ourselves now, and there isn't no filter to block who we really are now" continued Grey. "I used to get pushed around, treated like a lil' nancyboy. But now I'm allowed to show my true colours, ya see we're mean, mean blokes" uttered Burch whilst Grey continued: "I was NXT Tag Team Champion. It won't be long before we get there again. Just you wait. We're mean blokes and we love to fight. And there isn't anything that can stop us". The Ruffians began to leave the scene, as the camera then panned out to reveal a man unconscious and in pain on the floor. (00:32)
Cut back to the NXT Arena, where the Ascension's theme was playing, as Konnor and Viktor made their way down to the ring ready for tag team action. "The NXT Tag Team Champions have been on a roll since winning the titles back in March, but apparently from what they've said recently, they've found a new set of target on their radar" mentioned Renee Young, as Konnor got on the microphone in the ring. "So, we said a few weeks ago that we have set the marker on two poor fools. Enough, let's get down to it. Tonight the Ascension rises...above these idiots. Hit their music." briefly spoke Konnor strongly, when suddenly the theme of Kalisto and Sin Cara played! And with that, out came...two masked midgets!?
NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE ASCENSION def. SMALL CARA & KALILSO - The NXT Universe's cheers for the two Mexican luchadores turned to boos as the announcers weren't happy about this approach one bit. Konnor and Viktor laughed aloud from the ring, as the two masked minis approached the ring just for Konnor and Viktor to roll out of the ring either side, swiftly nailing one with the Fall of Man before they even had chance to get in the ring! The other one climbed into the ring, trying to run away but Viktor got in the ring in hot pursuit, a big boot into the face of the little guy! Konnor laughed as he scooped him off the canvas and gave him a fallaway slam, before the NXT Tag Team Champions got into position, delivering one final Fall of Man. "Oh come on" groaned Byron Saxton, as Konnor put a single boot on the mini's chest for the win in 0:37. n/a
The Ascension stood dominantly in the ring, Konnor and Viktor retrieving their NXT Tag Team Championships as Jason Albert asked the big question: "So it was the Ascension that jumped them last week, but why!?" Suddenly however, the two were cut off by Sin Cara's music hitting, and out came Kalisto and Sin Cara, taped ribs and arm and all, the two luchadores hitting the ring and slipping in, ducking Konnor and Viktor and running them off with stereo-springboard dropkicks to the NXT Tag Team Champions! Kalisto and Cara united tall in the ring, as Konnor and Viktor slipped out onto the ringside floor. "They've proved so much in such little time, these two luchadores aren't about to be underestimated by the Ascension!" remarked Renee.(00:35)
We went to the backstage area where Baron Corbin was shown stood in the interview area when suddenly he was approached by Devin Taylor. "Baron, just briefly, last week we saw you and Alexander Rusev get into a little scuffle, and later on we saw you involve yourself in Rusev's business, running him away from a six-man tag team match. What made you do that, and why Rusev?" asked the interviewer, as Baron simply looked down at the much shorter Devin and commented. "I've kept a good eye on Alexander Rusev for some time. He's very big, he's very fast, he's very dominant. Maybe I like competition. But Devin what you should ask him is, is he intimidated of Baron Corbin? That is what I think the NXT Universe wants to know". Suddenly, a growling Alexander Rusev emerged onto the scene, with Sylvester Lefort behind him. "He's not intimidated of you, you're nothing but a nobody" commented Lefort, as his client continued to growl. Without saying another word, the 'Bulgarian Brute' began to leave with Lefort, as Baron remained still, refusing to break eye contact.(00:36)
- NEXT WEEK: A graphic aired promoting the in-ring return of Enzo Amore next week on NXT. "He's been gone for months with a leg injury, but FINALLY, after so many months of anticipation, he's baaaack! Next week, "the Mouth of New Jersey" Enzo Amore returns to NXT!" promoted Byron Saxton.
(00:36)
#WinterParkStreetFight
WINTER PARK STREET FIGHT COREY GRAVES vs ADRIAN NEVILLE We returned to NXT as the theme of Bo Dallas was playing, the arrogant NXT Heavyweight Champion making a surprise appearance at the announce table with Byron Saxton, Renee Young and Jason Albert. "We didn't expect you out here, Bo!" sarcastically spoke Byron as Bo Dallas quickly retorted: "I'm the NXT Heavyweight Champion. I go where I like. I own this house!"
The theme of Corey Graves soon hit arousing the NXT house to begin loudly booing the 'Savior of Misbehavior'. "Well, here comes the man that has been a thorn in Adrian Neville's side ever since NXT ArRIVAL. And he has no compassion for the 'Man That Gravity Forgot' either, as we saw earlier tonight", spoke Byron Saxton, referencing Graves' attack on Neville earlier in the night. Graves took a methodical walk down the rampway, when suddenly Neville appeared through the crowd, jumping the guard rail and blindsighting Graves from the side; tackling him down the side of the rampway! "Adrian Neville wasting no time, and who can blame him!?" exerted Renee Young, as Neville and Graves fell to a heap on the floor below, Adrian burying Corey in lefts and rights, his injured knee all bandaged up. "This is Adrian Neville's first singles match since he was taken out of action by Graves six weeks ago - will ring rust be a factor?" questioned Jason Albert, as Neville picked Corey up and sent him into the ring officially starting this match."I think he's a fool for getting in there with Corey Graves, much like he will getting in there with me in three weeks time" arrogantly spoke Bo Dallas on commentary as Neville whipped Graves into the ropes, ducking Corey on the rebound before following up with a dropkick; the Geordie then following up with more lefts and rights on Graves! "This is a side of Neville we have not seen before" noted Byron, as Corey desperately grabbed the bottom rope and dragged himself to the outside. However he didn't have much time to react, as he came over the top with a somersault plancha onto Graves! Neville took in the NXT Universe's applause, before going back after Corey, sending him furiously into the steel steps at ringside. "The number one contender is motivated, and he is all over his former tag team partner who stabbed him in the back!" exclaimed Renee, whilst Adrian picked up Graves's leg and began to stomp away at it! Neville picked Graves up and attempted to send him into the guard rail, but Graves reversed and Neville went spine-first into the opposite guardrail: and the Pennsylvanian followed up with a kitchen sink knee into the gut of the Brit; Graves then repeatedly stomping at the knee!"And now the tables have turned, Graves is so ruthless that he can go from defense to offense just like that!" Corey then followed up with a clothesline, as Adrian went to clutch onto the knee on the floor. Corey picked Adrian up and rolled him to the inside, where the 'Savior of Misbehavior' joined him, non-chalently delivering a chop block to the leg of a stumbling number one contender. "Maybe Adrian Neville won't even make it to NXT Unleashed. How great would that be?" asked Bo to no response, as Corey then returned to the outside, going under the ring and collecting himself a Singapore cane, Graves tossing it to the inside and returning to work on Neville in the ring. Graves noticed Adrian tried to stand up, which is when Graves stomped the knee of the 'Jumping Geordie' to keep him down: Graves then reaching for the Singapore cane and going to swing at the knee, just for Adrian to somehow get out and drop toe hold Graves! Neville rolled to his feet and limped around, then executed Corey with a springboard moonsault from the second rope: but Corey moved and Neville landed on his bad knee injuring it - allowing the opportunist Graves to come in with a flatliner on Adrian! Graves covered, but Adrian kicked out at two. "Corey Graves is just so slimey. He's so weasly. And right now he's making a point to injure your opponent at NXT Unleashed, Bo" commented Albert, as Bo smiled back at Albert: "It's magic, isn't it?" Corey noticed the Singapore cane again, as he picked it up and ruthlessly slammed it into the bad knee of Adrian, not once, twice nor thrice: Graves then following up with a shot to the chest of Neville for good measure! The NXT Universe booed whilst Graves gloated, posing with the Singapore cane high before awaiting Neville to reach his knees, ready to swing the Singapore cane like a baseball bat into the head of Adrian: but Neville at the last second jumped to his feet and took Graves out with an enzuigiri! "Look at the cat-like reflexes of Neville!" pointed out Renee, as both men were now down: Adrian stirring now, as he slowly reached his feet, a desperation clothesline however taking Neville back down! "Unable to capitalize. I will dismantle Neville if he makes it to Unleashed", cockily commented the NXT Heavyweight Champion. Graves stomped on the leg of Adrian again, former NXT Tag Team Champions now bitter enemies. Graves left the ring suspiciously, as now he dragged Neville's leg around the ring post, securing it tightly wrapped around; his bad knee exposed. Graves grabbed a steel chair, as Byron Saxton forecast the probable. "Oh no...", as Graves went to swing the steel chair into the ring post-bound Neville, as Albert spoke "This is what took Adrian out before, if he does this there won't be an Unleashed main event!" But suddenly, Neville escaped and Graves hit the post with the chair: Adrian slowly crawling away inside the ring; but Graves slid inside and grabbed the bad leg of Adrian: the 'Savior of Misbehavior' trying to drag Neville, but Adrian got to his feet and clotheslined Graves; Adrian hanging onto the ropes to keep standing: as Neville saw Graves down and picked up the Singapore cane."Now's his chance!" spoke Renee, as Neville slammed the cane into the spine of Graves repeatedly, before suddenly nailing Corey into the face with it knocking Graves down and out! Neville saw his opportunity as he slowly went up to the top rope; the NXT Universe chanting Neville's name as he slowly ascended the ropes aiming for the Red Arrow..."Send for them", strangely spoke Bo Dallas on commentary, as Neville came off the top with the Red Arrow! Neville covered, but that's when Alexander Rusev charged the ring, dragging Adrian out and nailing him with a sharp superkick to the jaw at the 12:38 mark halting the match!WINNER: NO CONTEST (**1/4)"What the...Bo!?" questioned Byron, as Alexander Rusev stood dominantly over Adrian Neville, the 'Bulgarian Brute' then joined by Sylvester Lefort. Then, the NXT Heavyweight Champion arrogantly left commentary and waltzed down the rampway, Bo Dallas joining Lefort and Rusev over Neville's body; Dallas smiling and shaking hands with the Frenchman Lefort. "Bo Dallas, back to using the Legionnaires as hired guns...for his own cause!" exclaimed Renee, as Adrian Neville was down and out at ringside. Bo raised the NXT title high in the air, as he looked down at Neville with Rusev and Lefort by his side. "You won't make it to Unleashed!", spoke Bo, as NXT went off the air. Here we go, NXT baybay. We start things off with Bo Dallas, the NXT Champion. God damn, that man was actually over in NXT... too bad on the main roster nobody gave a darn, eh? Adrian Neville interrupting was cool and it was a nice touch to have Corey Graves come out and attack him before their main event match later on, definitely gives him a... LEG UP. HAHA. PUNNY. Good interview with Tyson Kidd, showing his character after his actions on Sami Zayn. Dolph Ziggler beats Bull Dempsey, thankfully. God, I hate Bull Dempsey. He probably smells like sewage waste. Yeah, Dolph and Breeze will face off eventualy. We know it. The girls seem to have some tension amongst them... Charlotte might be breaking off on to her own? Hm? Nonetheless, the BFFs beat Emma and The Funkadacytyls, which was good for them. Giving the women time was good for the feud and having Naomi get pinned was big for the BFFs... but, like I said, there may be some tension and there certainly will be after Charlotte got the win robbed. I like the characters you're giving to Burch and Grey, very old school 'mess you the F up' kind of tandem from England, you bloke. Next up, The Ascension fae... midget versions of midgets. Laughable at Renee's commentary. Such LITTLE time. What a snarky, sexy bitch. Baron Corbin and Rusev stare down. OH YEAH ENZO AMORE IS COMIN' BACK NEXT WEEK! BADA BOOM, REALEST GUY IN THE ROOM! NXT, HOW YOU DOIN'!? Brutal main event in store for Adrian Neville and Corey Graves but... Bo Dallas calls for The Legionnaires to come in, interestingly. Not overly sold with the finish to the show, but we'll see what comes of it. Another good, progressive episode of NXT, Danno.

NXT News of the Week (May 8 - May 15, 2014)
- In breaking news, Irish born independent star Prince Devitt has officially signed a contract with the WWE. Devitt, who was offered a contract this past February, took his time to think about the move (which would include departing from all independent promotions, and relocating to Orlando, Florida). Devitt, who has been working more in New Japan Pro Wrestling than anywhere else in the past year, will report to the WWE Performance Center for fine-tuning in July, with a period in the NXT territory expected. A former multi-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and former leader of New Japan's 'Bullet Club' faction, has a lot of experience, being a pro for the past fourteen years and yet still only 31 years of age - which could lead to big success in the WWE in years to come. (May 14, 2014)
- Pro Wrestling NOAH are hyping the May 17 show at Korakuen Hall as being KENTA's final appearance for the promotion. KENTA, who was offered a contract earlier this year will sign with the WWE leading to subsequent appearances on WWE's tour of Japan this coming July. KENTA will most likely report to Orlando for further enhancing with learning English and adapting to the American style of wrestling this summer. (May 12, 2014)
- WWE has signed three women's wrestlers to contracts, these including Savelina Fanene, Dasha Kuret and Dani Jackson. Fanene interestingly is related to The Rock and has a sports background as reportedly being a star basketball career. Meanwhile Dasha Kuret is a fitness model and gym enthusiast; having a degree in health science studying at the University of Central Florida, where she was crowned Miss UCF 2009. Dani Jackson meanwhile is the only one with a wrestling background already, having worked on the independent circuit, particularly former WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling; who began training under Rip Rogers in 2013. (May 9, 2014)
- Apparently there is a big angle in the working for NXT Unleashed, which as you know will take place on May 29. Unleashed as of right now is being talked about as being the definitive show to showcase NXT talents to a wide audience on the WWE Network - with the plan being to expose these talents and to promote NXT as the future of the WWE. It appears that this is to brand NXT and put it on the map as being the home for future talents to grow en route to the main roster. (May 13, 2014)
- It is worth noting that the WWE has not yet contacted any members of the WWE Performance Center training camp session held in March. It is unknown yet whether they will be: this camp tryout included several ROH talents, such as Kevin Steen, ACH and Roderick Strong. (May 8, 2014) |

WWE NXT Live Event: May 9, 2014 Orlando, FL - Orlando Armory
# | Match Result | 1. | Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady def. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy after the assisted top rope splash by Enzo from Cass on Blake. Enzo's return match was pretty good, he looked a lot better than the last time he was in action. Great promo from Cass and Enzo before the match. | 2. | Ricky Edwards def. Dash Wilder after the Achilles Lock concluding a short, nice showcase of the yet to debut former Eddie Edwards. The crowd knew who he was and he got a good response. Dash Wilder looked good in taking bumps - after the match Scott Dawson hit the ring and attacked Ricky leading to Sami Zayn making the save for him. | 3. | Sami Zayn def. Scott Dawson in a terrific match. It shows how underutilised Dawson truly is, he hung in there with a world class star like Zayn. Sami got the win after a competitive, back-and-forth encounter with the Helluva Kick. After the match, Zayn talked good things about Ricky Edwards (who remained ringside), and the two posed for the Orlando crowd. | 4. | Kalisto def. Konnor after a top rope victory roll. I was not expecting to see a great match with these two, but it was solid. With Sin Cara absent being on the road, Viktor watched from the ringside area causing multiple distractions by Kalisto allowing Konnor to take control. Konnor looked great in the dominant role, and Kalisto played the fan favourite underdog. Kalisto's upset win was great before he was taken down after the bell by the Ascension. When Cara's there at NXT Unleashed, it should be an awesome match. | 5. | Baron Corbin def. Garrett Dylan in a fun squash. Baron has a great presence about him, and he got the win against Garrett with the End of Days. Baron cut a short promo after the match pronouncing Alexander Rusev a beast with his life soon to end with the End of Days. | 6. | The Ruffians def. Aiden English & Simon Gotch, Jason Jordan & Tye Dillinger and C.J. Parker & Cal Bishop in a fun four-way tag team match after Oliver Grey pinned Jordan after a double knee backbreaker by the Ruffians. C.J. Parker's partner, Cal Bishop looks like a duplicate of him, and the two were actually given a good response. Sylvester Lefort took a lot of heat and actually took some bumps for trying to help English and Gotch get the win tonight. Jordan and Dillinger were the underdogs, but in the end the Ruffians got the win - who then began to pound away on Parker and Bishop to boos. Oliver Grey and Danny Burch in particular looked very comfortable here more than they have in their past babyface tenures. | 7. | Emma def. Charlotte to retain the NXT Women's Championship in a great match. This was a tune-up match ahead of their battle at NXT Unleashed, and it was very fun to watch unfold. Charlotte got a lot of heat on Emma with her sly antics inspired by father Ric Flair; and additionally from having fellow BFF Sasha Banks in her corner; who tried to cost Emma the match repeatedly. Bayley eventually came down to equalize things, and eventually she got into a brawl with Sasha at ringside - I can't wait for Bayley to return to television. Emma got the win with the Emma Lock at the eleven minute mark, match was good although I expect even better at NXT Unleashed given the talent involved in this match. | 8. | Tyler Breeze & Corey Graves def. Dolph Ziggler & Adrian Neville in an awesome main event. Since Dolph Ziggler took a break from jobbing out on the main roster and floundering, he has been great on NXT; and he wasn't even announced for this show, giving him a huge reaction. Bo Dallas was at ringside for this one, and he eventually distracted Adrian Neville setting up an NXT Championship belt shot from Graves giving Corey the assisted win. It was awesome seeing Ziggler in there with Tyler, and if they face off at NXT Unleashed like I predict they will, it should be amazing. Great main event; Ziggler hit Breeze with the Zig-Zag after the bell, whereas Graves fled from Adrian and hit Bo Dallas with the Red Arrow to close the show. |
