So while filming the last edition of the Bash & The Kevstaaa Wrestling Podcast, it made me realize that our generation (those born in the mid-late 80s and grew up in the 90s) are the last generation to experience a lot of things that have since been phased out. I figured it would be fun for us old timers here to make a list of things that we will literally be the last generation to experience. My list: Renting movies from a video store (VHS tapes, "be kind rewind", etc) 56k dial-up internet Actual landline phones in your house Hi-C Ecto Cooler Disposable cameras you have to drop off at a pharmacy to have the film developed Hiding dirty magazines under your mattress The rise & fall of Sega The introduction of CGI in movies (for better or worse) Total Request Live I can probably think of a lot more but want to leave this open for other people. What is on your list?

The Boy Band craze Skip-It Commercials for figures and board games Passing notes instead of texting AOL Instant Messenger When you want a song, you'd wait for it to come on the radio, tell everyone to be quiet and record it on cassette Walkmen Getting booted offline because a phone call came through Blockbuster Pogs Nickelodeon was actually good Blowing on video game cartridges

Going to channel 3 in order for video games to work -WMD My Super Nintendo had a switch that you could use for either channel 3 or 4. I remember getting the Super Nintendo and The Addams Family game for my birthday. I also remember bringing the SNES to my grandparent's for the weekend. Grandma took me to the video store to rent a game and ended up renting an NES game. I just saw it was wrestling and grabbed it.

If you've experienced some of these then you are included.
Effin Millennials.
Anyway, more to add:
Portable CD players that would skip and were useless Actually buying CDs Tamagotchi (it wouldn't stop sh*tting) Those finger skateboard toys Y2K

I was thinking not too long ago about the New Year's part we had in 1999/2000, thinking how it seemed not that long ago but it was actually 15 years ago. We all gathered around the TV and waited for something to happen. None of us bought into it but we were still curious.

But I've done/had all three of those things in my lifetime, so there are still a few of us to carry the torch!

I remember getting up to turn the channel. This makes me wonder how the remote control changed television ratings.

I bought a CD last week, and it was a Waylon Jennings CD too so that pretty much tells you how behind the times I am.
