I recently put over a hundred loose and MOC figures in bins in my basement. I'm not gonna sell them, but I've lost interest. I can barely watch Raw tonight. My walls which were filled with figures are blank now and it's kind of a weird feeling. The current product has made me lose interest mostly. Why the are Undertaker and Brock Lesnar still wrestling? Why does John Cena HAVE to be in the title picture? Do they even know what they're doing with Dean Ambrose? Why has Bray Wyatt never held a title when Erick Rowan has? Can't the Bella Twins go away? Can't they build up another monster heel diva? Why the are we even discussing The Authority 3 years after they first started? The Authority has lasted longer than The Shield has. All of it is just irritating me. All I've been doing is watching old wrestling recently and all my collection is going to be are Flashbacks and Big E. That's what I do, go for Flashbacks and maybe some current stars like Wyatt, Finn Balor when he comes out, etc. I too stick with the Network and my DVD/Blu-Ray collection.

I only feel like I'm wasting money when I buy a basic to properly fix up an elite. I give my three year old son the swapped out basics, he doesn't know any better, and he'll run them into the ground. So it's a win, win. Them thoughts I tend to stay away from because this what I love to f*cking do!!!! Don't plan on stopping until they dip the casket homie!

You're probably going to waste money on something else.

Honestly, just get flashbacks or guys you really care about. The mid-carders or whomever won't matter much in 3-5 years. As long as you don't mess up college or anything, do whatever makes you happy. Seriously. I know this is completely unrelated but GO TO/FINISH COLLEGE. I wish I could tell 18 year old me that. Doing it 10 years later sucks.

Collecting toys is a lot better than drugs and alcohol. That's what I tell myself anyway.

Not really. I've convinced myself that it would be a waste of money sometimes though i.e. I already bought all of E36 and the thought keeps crossing my head to check for e35 but I know that there was nothing in that series I really want or need so it would be a waste of money. If you think it's a waste of money though then you should probably stop collecting. Nothing I've collected has ever been considered by me as a waste of money... there's a reason I started collecting it

I collect Marvel LEgends for example, and I lose interest as they keep recycling the same bodies and almost no tooling. Just repaint, slap a RE-TOOLED head and bingo. Just awful imo. So I do lose interest.
With Elites, ever since they canned the NWO Hogan, I am really falling out of it. I am so tired of Mattel Nickle and diming me. NWO is not a Defining Moments, extra accessories, figure. They just are charging a higher premium for long awaited figures, while giving less than regular Elites a lot of times.
A defining moment figure would have interchangeable heads and hands imo.
And the recent decision not to use belt plates, just continues to drive a stake into the coffin.

If I wasn't buying figures, I would be buying more useless crap anyways. This.

I'm 18 years old, just got back into collecting several months ago (now at about 20 figures). I sometimes look at my displayed figures and wonder whether or not i should continue to collect just based on the fact that prices are increasing (Especially for figures i missed out on over the past couple of years), and if i should be spending my money on other things more important for my future, etc. Do you guys ever feel like you're wasting money? What do you do to get rid of these thoughts to keep on collecting? I'm 5 figures in and already over 100 dollars wasted. Yeah i'm wasting the money, but I'm very specific when buying, I only buy elites, and I only buy my favorite superstars, I don't go overboard and collect entire series. In all honesty my hobby before this was collecting Jordan Sneakers and Nintendo Games, Sneakers cost me 200 a pop and Games were 40 dollars each, so for me this is the most inexpensive hobby I have ever had. Looking at those figures just reminds me why I collect them, and if you're ever in need of money just sell a really rare figure. Life is short and it's better than doing drugs!
