Are you spending lots of money on figures that you could be putting towards buying a car? A house? Do you need new clothes? Gym membership? Money to go out?
All I am saying is that stuff is so much more important that keeping up with the latest toys. If you have all your ducks in a row then do whatever makes you happy with your money but just don't sacrifice for Ito
When I first started collecting Mattel's, I had to get every legend and every flashback and make customs of who ever hasn't been made yet. It was fine because I was home a lot with our girls who were babies at the time, I needed a hobby. Just this year I woke up one day and felt like most of it was a huge waste of money and I sold around 150 figures. Now I have 20 figures and the Hobbies fun again because it doesn't consume my thoughts or wallet lol. I only plan on buying maybe another 20 figures max if they make the wrestlers and Attires I'm waiting for.

In all honesty no even on older figures I had to go the ebay route to get I never felt like I was wasting money. Now some ex girlfriends they were a waste of money, time and peace of mind. LOL

No way, i'm amassing a nice colletion for my boy when he's older. Haven't quite decided what I am going to do with some of my over $100 dollar value figures though. Don't think I will sell, probably just let him have those too.

when I buy a figure; somewhat current in look, then the guy goes out and changes the attire the RAW after I order the figure, yes I realize its a waste. To me, not to everyone.

It really just depends on you. I am an Accountant so I feel bad everytime I spend more then $30. My wife constantly has to tell me that these make you happy so get it. I don't go over board with it but I do buy. I have a few duplicates but mostly because I really like the figures. Just started collecting Star Wars black series as well and bought 4 already since yesterday (also because I got a bonus which gave me the extra funds to get them). If you are looking for an answer, my suggestion is to make sure you have a roof over your head, you eat, and can get to work. However, basics are only $10, which is cheaper than a glass of Johnni Walker Black here in DC area so it's not too bad. These figure collection is still the cheapest collection i have ever done. Also if I ever get tired of my collection of figures, i will give them to my future child. So it works well for me.

Here recently I've felt like I'm wasting money mostly because the product itself on tv just isn't that good In my opinion.

Now you sound like my family. I just started collecting about 7 months ago? Have about 15 Elites now, family keeps telling me i'm wasting money, but really, I would have been spending money on some other crap. Before WWE Figures I collected Retro Jordans, they didn't tell me I was wasting money then, even though each pair costs upwards of 200 bucks, and before that I was collecting old Nintendo games. Still didn't tell me I was wasting money. I digress, we are all wasting money, but we're wasting money on beautiful pieces of plastic.
