I am a bit concerned about some recent products. I wanted a Ron Simmons/Farooq for a long time, but I just can't buy the one we got without thinking it looks like Big E dressed in APA gear. To me it just doesn't cut it. I don't see Ron Simmons in that face.
Likewise, Sting's head doesn't look like Sting's head. Either demote the sculptor or fire the person who shot the photo images.
And Sid??? His cynical laugh was only creepy in the context of the evil glare he would immediately switch to. Just having a permanent, stuck-on smile is just plain goofy. I really hope Bill gives us another Sid sculpt on a BP or Basic, or maybe even an elite Sid Justice.

I guess that response confirms that E39 Sting WAS his best effort. It's just a matter of if we like it or not.
Unfortunately for MDT, I think the general consensus on this board is that, no, we DO NOT like it.

Why are people complaining about others complaining about the figures? Isn't that what this board is about? This isn't meant to be a "Hey I found Elite 35 in Wyoming.. take a look at my pics even though you have all clearly already seen the figures!", is it? I thought this was a place where we can praise or criticize figures?
Honestly Bill, I get some people's comments can be insulting, but that comes with the territory, no? You (or someone) released prototype images (although they look pretty close to final, to me at least) of Elite 39 and some figures were pretty cool, but others weren't. Wouldn't you want to know what others outside of the Mattel office think of the figures? What you can fix? What you should change? What you did great?
Or at least that's how I see it.

I like the figure personally, Is it perfect? No or course not but it's the first current WWE Sting why would they get it perfect & leave nothing to make later.

Gotta be able to take criticism.... Hopefully it helps MDT improve.. Or at least take majority of the comments to upper management and say "see, collectors aren't happy when we put out crap, we need more budget... We are Mattel!!!"

I think that maybe they needed the additional budget for e40. Maybe with balors paint apps and entrance gear and zayns paint apps and belt mold, they had to cheap out on e40. Just a thought. That's IF they're in the same set even Plus mania 31 sting will probably be a baf elite set Are they still doing baf elites? I hope so! I really want that mania Ziggler headscan :-( |
