Really.....what happened to Elite 39 Sting? Honestly? Can Bill or anybody from the MDT with an honest belief come on here and claim, or say to themselves, that THIS was the BEST they could do? It's kind of sad when in 2015 Mattel can't even touch the head scans of something Marvel did 10 years ago: How did anybody look at Elite 39 Sting and green light that? Who suggested the shirt mold? How did that head get approved? Who thought it was ok to cram the scorpion design onto his CROTCH? I would even be ok with the horrible plastic coat, that's a burden we've all just come to learn to accept with Mattel, IF the rest of the figure was a home run.....but this is one that, if I was in charge at Mattel, I would have said "let's just scrap this one until we can get it right". If the prices of the figures are going to keep going up and up and up, we can NOT start to have the figures start to become illogical and unrecognizable to the actual real life wrestlers. The quality control is bad enough, but at least UNTIL NOW the figures were good if you actually managed to get one that didn't have any flaws. I'm sorry....Elite 39 Sting might be the most disappointing figure in Mattel WWE history.

TNA Masked Fury Sting (in the left in the above pic) is still THE best Sting headscan ever made.

The scan looks crap, but you can't disregard all the other amazing scans they've produced just because of 1 iffy one.

I thought it looked kinda derpy at first, but it might just have been a bad angle.
I don't think it looks worse than those WCW figures at all.

I hear you. I don't know what the hell that square headed thing is, but it is unimpressive to say the least. When Mattel botches a head like Trent Barretta's we can at least say, well, he's not a legend yet or anything. When Mattel botches Sting it is doing a disservice to one of the biggest icons of all time.

I am loving that Sting now. It's his WWE debut attire.
Not sure why, but yeah, can't wait.
They even gave him his TNA gloves lol

That Sting scan looks almost just like the OP's avatar and sig. Perhaps it is just ever so slightly wider, but maybe it's just the pic/angle too.

I love sting and was really excited for him. Reason I preordered him and sid regardless of them being 2 per case but I think most were disappointed with the turn out. Gives us a cloth shirt instead of a crappy painted on 1 n drop the jacket. I throw all those plastic coats in the trash. Main reason I don't have the rs Bret

I think the figure is ok. Although if it had a better headscan, no t shirt on and a cloth coat is would be amazing.

The figure is nice, but I don't see the need for a cloth shirt if he didn't take it off during the debut. Why would you want something that would be inaccurate? What would be under the shirt, he never took it off. People said MDT was stupid to make E26 Road Dogg have two shirt and shirtless, yet this is a different situation?

I don't think the head looks bad in the jacket off picture. But the first pic we saw with the coat on looks odd. Hey that TB pic looks familiar. (I miss that camera) lol
My biggest complaint is the scorpions being so low...and then the shirt. I would have rather had a cloth shirt with correctly placed scorpions on the singlet with the coat. Or remove the shirt or coat if it was a cost issue.
But depending on my mood at the time I will either give my extra e39 Sting the Bushwhackers torso with the same sized upper arms. And repaint the scorpions. Or I will swap the head and forearms/hands with my extra b55 figure. And that will be my modern Sting.

Jakks TNA Sting was WAY better. This is awful. I am glad you made this post cuz I was going to. The head scan isnt HORRID....but its really bad. The molded shirt just kills this figure. Why?

I love Sting and he's my favorite wrestler of all time so personally for me it's a HUGE letdown. I don't think anything about this figure is justifiable. We all know what Mattel is capable of. a.k.a the beautiful DM. If the headscan would of been the only flaw I could of easily overlooked it. Here's my problem.
-weird looking headscan (That thing looks like a Lego block head)
-molded t-shirt ( I would rather they sacrifice the plastic cocoon for a cloth T-shirt) They also have that new RVD torso which would of worked great for a modern Sting
-Scorpion design on top of the pads
-Ripped arms... Are you kidding me??? Sting hasn't had ripped arms like those in years
-Inaccurate boots ( his current boots do not look like the ones he wore at Starrcade, they're a bit shorter and they're glossed) I guess this answers why Mattel gave his elite the wrong boot height.
- Wood grain bat ( Sting's bats were aluminum)
I really hope they fix whatever Sting figure is next. I'm passing, I really want a modern Sting.

Guys seriously it is okay... Its like E34 Hogan. Its an attire that he would basically wear for a casual appearance.
WM 31 Sting will be made. I guarantee it! At Ringside Fest we will most likely see it.
I really like this figure.

Mattel has been sub par as of late. This Sting is bordering Jakks kind of bad. I feel as if they are coasting on past years work, but this year has been underwhelming.

Seriously, sometimes Mattel can be really lazy. I really doubt they don't have the ability, or the means to be consistent with their designs. I honestly think they work on so many things that they get careless or lazy with certain figures. but why you get careless on a Sting? I'll never know. Or maybe they are rushed to get figures out so they decide not to go back to drawing board? Either way, this Sting is such a disappointment.

This Sting is bordering Jakks kind of bad. I keep seeing this phrase...is it just one of those things like "I literally died of hunger" or "I've been waiting for a million years"? Is this the best Sting figure ever? No, it's not. But even if this is the worst figure Mattel ever makes, it's still miles better than the best Jakks figure.
