WWWF Championship WrestlingJanuary 13th, 1979 Hosts: Vince McMahon and Bruno Sammartino Vince McMahon interview with Superstar: Vince: Such exciting action is taking place here in the World Wide Wrestling Federation, and we are told that Peter Maivia's suspension has been lifted as he will be taking on his son-in-law from the CWF, Rocky Johnson at the Superbowl of Wrestling III event on January 28th. What a match that will be. Speaking of the Superbowl, Superstar Billy Graham has accepted the challenge from Ric Flair. Here with me now is the Superstar himself with a few words(walks in). Superstar: Let me tell you something brother, as much as I want to get my hands on that Freddie Blassie and squeeze his guts out, I got a war coming with a certain Ric Flair. Now I know all about the Nature Boy, I know that for seven years he's been fighting for his life and now wants to make it to the top of the ladder baby by beating the Superstar. But you see here is the thing, he just lost the NWA United States Championship to a good man Ricky Steamboat. So why does he think he deserves the WWWF Heavyweight Championship because let me tell you something there is no belt like this, this is a true World title, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep it around my waist. Vince: I don't doubt your ability... Superstar: Ability is about sustainability to achieve tranquility, a man's got to do what is necessary, and the Superstar and all his fans can see that we're faster than a locomotive and more powerful than a grizzly bear with this 23 inch pythons (poses) so Ric Flair you better be at your best, before I stomp you because the Superstar ain't gonna rest! (rips up his shirt, something he used to do at times). ________________________________________________________ Baron Mikel Scicluna def. Steve Travis via pinfall

Vince: At Madison Square Garden on June 4th, a Number One Contender will be determined for the WWF Heavyweight Championship between Ivan Putski and the up and comer Great Hossein Arab managed by Fred Blassie. What a match that is going to be. Also on the card we will have WWF Champion Superstar Billy Graham teaming up with Bob Backlund to take on Peter Maivia and Victor Rivera, both managed by Fred Blassie in a tag team match. Superstar: (appears) You know I've been stylin and ridin in New York City....(a clip is shown of Superstar signing autographs and posing for the fans at a recent MSG show that wasn't televised) Superstar: ....but everyone's been asking me about the camel clutch. I know how dangerous it is, I admit I passed out, but that only means I'm human, but the only difference is I got these 23 inch pythons that tell a diffeent story that the Superstar has what it takes to go the distance and I intend to do so. Vince: Great Hossein Arab has a long way to go to make it to the top I'm sure, but Superstar he has a chance to actually become No. 1 Contender. Superstar: I'm willing to take him on or even Ivan Putski, because I've faced Ivan before in the ring so I know what to expect, but with Hossein, you can't possibly know what to expect. And did you notice those "shoes" he has on? So the Superstar baby is going to watch this one, because whoever comes out the winner they'll be facing me right in the middle of the ring brother. Just starting to read this now. There's some interesting story development going in but I wish there was a lot more detail. Using quick results for each show takes away the potential of what could be great storyline building.
