Looks like the start of the Iron Sheik, but hopefully his title reign will not last, as hopefully an American like Dusty Rhodes or Billy Graham or Bob Backlund will get his hands on him, My Starrcade Card is up if you want to comment it.

Moose Monroe via submission with his sleeper finisher Vince McMahon is with Dusty Rhodes for a post-match interview: Vince: At Madison Square Garden Dusty Rhodes, many of us were grateful you were in the ring on time to save Superstar Billy Graham, who had lost the WWF Heavyweight Championship to the Great Hossein Arab, or should I say the Iron Sheik as Blassie calls him. Dusty: You know I wanted to first thank every fan out there and throughout America for having my back all these years, but Mr. McMahon, what I saw was a tragedy like no other baby. Dusty: I got a lot of respect for these guys, Andre man Andre is larger than life and I wish him the best in everything. But that night belongs to every hard working American, everyone who believes and wants to continue believing in the Dream so I'll do whatever it takes for all of you sitting at home, to win, and be the man at the top with guts and glory! ________________________________________ Matches: WWF North American Champion Pat Patterson def. December to Remember Special WWF at Madison Square Garden December 17th, 1979 Televised on the MSG Network Host: Vince McMahon
For this special, the New York Athletic Commission waives the 11pm curfew. Televised Matches: The Fabulous Hulk Hogan (w/Blassie) def. Ted Dibiase via Submission. This is the famous MSG debut of Hulk Hogan. The match went on as it originally did with Hogan getting in the bearhug and making Dibiase submit. In this diary, after the match Dibiase is taken out on a stretcher as Hulk poses with a laughing Blassie. Vince is shocked that Hulk squashed the former North American Champion Ted Dibiase so easily and wonders who can take on such a big man. He tells the fans about the Spectrum show where Hulk won a tag match over Superstar and Dusty Rhodes. Bob Backlund (c) def. Bobby Duncum in a Texas Death Match to retain the WWF Intercontinental ChampionshipGRUDGE MATCH: Superstar Billy Graham def. The Iron Sheik (w/Blassie) via DQ after the Iron Sheik uses his boots to strike at Superstar's neck for the referee to notice something strange about his boots. The referee demanded the Sheik to take off his boots and forces him to do so with a WWF Official. They notice a foreign object stuffed in the boots! The match goes in Superstar's favour. ____________________________________ MAIN EVENT: WWF Heavyweight Champion Dusty Rhodes vs. NWA World Champion Harley RaceThe WWF calls it a "rematch" from the Superbowl of Wrestling III held earlier in the year, but that both men are champions and both titles are on the line here. A recap of that show shows Dusty Rhodes gaining a pinfall over Race in what was a non-title match. Dusty and Race start it off with grapples and holds. They test each other out, Race wants a win over the American Dream badly and works on Dusty's arms and brings him down to the mat for more holds. It's more of a technical mat match as Race has the advantage. Dusty gains the advantage three minutes in, reversing an armbar and sending Race to the outside. Both men fight to the outside till Race smashes the ring bell over Dusty's face when the ref wasn't looking! Dusty is cut open, they're both in the ring as Dusty now has the upper hand. Rights and lefts the crowd is going wild as Dusty goes for a big elbow smash for three, but Race's foot is on the ropes. Dusty is bleeding profusely, he whips Race to the ropes for a big clothesline. He gets to the ropes only to fall to the outside because he was "blinded by his blood" (this happened the same night when the two met) The ref calls for the bell. Winner: Harley Race via Referee Decision, WWF Heavyweight Championship remains with Dusty Rhodes. The fans chant "bull$hit" (which did happen) and are furious with the results. The get the fans to calm down, Dusty shoves the referee on the outside and manages to grab a texas rope he found from beneath the ring and starts to choke out Harley! Race is taken out to the back nearly fading away as he walks out and Dusty celebrates with his WWF title up high.

Hulk, you have made a mark... Blassie: The whole world should take notice at the size of this man, the whole world should see that Dusty Rhodes wouldn't stand a chance in the ring. Dusty is frightened, he won't challenge Hulk Hogan for the WWF Heavyweight Championship, because Hulk Hogan is the real Superstar. Billy Graham is a has-been, he's got nothing on this guy, look at those arms, 25 26 inches, 6 foot 8, 370 pounds of muscle, he's the future of the WWF. Hulk: Everyone saw what happened at the Spectrum. Dusty Rhodes and Superstar Billy Graham tried to cheat, they were embarassed, they couldn't bend or break me. Blassie: That's right Hulk, not even a giant could take you down.... Suddenly Andre the Giant makes an appearance to much applause.Andre: You can't just come to the WWF and try to make it here. You have a long way to go. Blassie: Why don't you challenge Hulk Hogan in a match or are you afraid? Andre: Don't act so cocky Mr. Blassie, I ain't afraid of anyone, and Hulk Hogan you have to still prove that you're one of the boys, because so far I'm not impressed. Vince: Andre the Giant if Hulk Hogan even has a chance to beat you, he could very well be the next giant of professional wrestling. Suddenly as Andre is on the mic talking to Vince and Blassie distracting Andre, Hulk Hogan grabs a chair and smashes it over Andre's back!
