I think the Retro release will probably be somewhere in the middle of some of these expectations. I’d imagine they’ll sell out relatively quickly, but I can’t see them being anywhere near as limited as an SDCC exclusive.

Steve had made a comment in the Q&A about trying to ensure that anyone who wants them can get them.

Steve had made a comment in the Q&A about trying to ensure that anyone who wants them can get them. That is pretty exciting to hear and has given me some hope. I think that these are awesome and the more I see them, the more I like this lineup. Would it have been who I would have picked for the start o this new series? No, not at all, but the figures look great as does the carding. I would love to add these to my collection, but at the end of the day if I cannot get them I can live without them, I will just have to live through you guys on here posting pics of them

i hope they just do the "pre-order" model. where everyone who wants one can get one, limit of 2-3 per customer. personally with this re-launch I want 2...one to keep MOC and one to open. this is a pretty special set, I still wish I had the foresight to get all of Series 1 MOC when they were easily found at Walmart

Tell me about it! Roman Reigns was a peg warmer at my Walmart. Loads of them. Now Reigns is the most valuable one of all retros.

I was in the US the summer that first series came-out, but I didn’t bother visit a Walmart to get them as we knew that Smyths would be carrying them so I wanted to support them through Smyths in the hope they might continue stocking the line.
Of course we didn’t know at that time that Owens and Reigns wouldn’t come-out here, and while I probably would’ve bought one of each due to my weakness of seeing them all together, Warrior and Taker were still the rare ones at that time, so if I had gone to a Walmart then I probably would’ve bought extras of the legends rather than the current guys.

Everyone fights on his own. Hey Steve, Any chance that the new Retro figures on Mattel creations will be sold as a made to order model to avoid rediculously fast sellouts? Many of us fear to habe an Ultimate Sgt Slaughter dejavu... It won’t be a made to order pre-sale in January. They’re already produced and on the way to the US.

On the bright side then maybe those lucky enough to get their orders in can hope to receive them reasonably quickly after they go up.

This is a really good point. I want all these -- but won't be heavily disjointed if they sell out. EXCEPT for that Mean Gene...

We should maybe just open an own topic in the members section and try to work out a system to get everybody covered at cost. Personally I’d be willing to sell extra figures without any profit in a community I can relay on receiving the same benefits if needed.

So it's not really a pe-order, it's just a straight order if they're already produced. I seem to recall them being referred to as a pre-order or pre-sale but I certainly could have that wrong. Really hope enough have been produced for us all to get them. It would be a very disappointing return if they sell out immediately. A sell out would be good to reinforce demand but not to the point where it's prohibitive.

Respectfully, you are wrong. Action Figure Attack said from the very beginning they would not be made to order based on pre-sales

You’d have been lucky to find them all. Warrior and Taker werent in the same cases as Owens and Reigns. Wave one was Cena, Lesnar, Owens and Reigns. Wave two swapped out Reigns and Owens for Taker and Warrior. I was in the US in March that year, and nowhere in the Orlando area still had any Reigns or Owens. They’d moved onto the Taker and Warrior shipments, which was annoying.

does anyone know what the expected lead time is for the Retros once they've been ordered in Jan? are they shipping within days/weeks of order, or will it be like the Chella/ZST ordering process where you pre-order on the date they become available, but then it takes a few months for the manufacturing and shipping to complete?
just wondering whether people will be playing with them by the end of Feb 2022??

Am I right in thinking there’s been no official info on price point for the new series that’s dropping in January?

I think AFA had hinted around 50-60, but nothing official.

It really surprises me that someone like Andre the giant is not locked down for a retro figure. I guess they are just taking this line as it comes but still it shocks me that independent toymakers can make a licensed figure in the same format WWE is currently marketing with one of the most iconic personalities of all time.

It sounds like Andre’s estate is doing open-licensing. An Andre Retro still might be possible. I would love to see them try one.
