The Aftermath:
Ricky Steamboat challenges Rick Rude at Wrestlemania IV in the first round of the WWF title tournament. Steamboat wins, but Rude injures his leg after the match which turns it in to a bye.
Steamboat doesn't regain the IC title ever again and he shortly leaves for the JCP. In a shoot, Steamboat says that he was promised the IC title for three years, but Vince felt that Randy Savage who was over with the fans despite being a heel when he lost the title, would make a better babyface champion. He says that he legitimately got hurt prior to WMIV, and left and decided to leave the WWF when his contract came up so he can feud in main event matches.
Macho Man Randy Savage defeats King Harley Race for the IC title at Wrestlemania IV.
Ted Dibiase wins the WWF title in the WMIV tournament.

4. Macho Man Randy Savage's 1994
Some might say he overstayed his welcome, but most would agree that he was underutilized in the WWF. Wrestlemania X was the last televised and PPV match for Randy Savage where he beat Crush in a last man standing match. In this alternate timeline, after Wrestlemania X, Vince makes a deal with Randy Savage to let him work more often on TV with new feuds.

Jack Tunney enters the room.Randy: So Mr. Tunney ya do you have an answer for me? Will I face Bret "the Hitman" Hart at the King of the Ring for the title ya because I can feel it ya I can feel a threepeet! Tunney: I'm sorry Mr. Savage, but after careful consideration, Diesel is the number one contender. Randy: (looks at Piper) Is this what you meant by surprise huh? Piper: Ah gosh Mr. Tunney... Tunney: We thank you for your service after all these years Mr. Savage, and I wanted to say that after discussions with WWF officials we wish you would consider your old position on the commentary desk and I do believe this is the best fit for our relationship between you and the WWF going forward... Randy suddenly assaults Tunney! Piper tries to hold him back. Randy shoves Piper, Piper fights back!
Vince: I can't believe what we have seen Randy Savage has assaulted the President of the WWF in such an inhumane way, thankfully Piper was there to save him in time before Savage had done more damage. Monday Night RAW July 18th, 1994 Hosts: Jim Ross and Jim Cornette
Jack Tunney makes an announcement: "As we enter a new era in sports entertainment with the New Generation, the World Wrestling Federation recognizes what the fans want, out with the old, in with the new. As we promote younger and brighter WWF superstars to new heights and opportunities, at the King of the Ring we had seen one of these younger superstars, Owen Hart, become the new King and deservedly so. However last week on Monday Night RAW, Owen Hart was forced to surrender his crown and a shot at the WWF Championship.
After WWF officials gone through a thorough investigation, we have discovered that it was in fact Randy Macho Man Savage who ensured that Owen Hart would not be able to participate in the match. As a referee's decision is final, I have accepted that the Macho Man is the new King of the WWF. However, due to his actions and his past actions that are quite evident, I have therefore stripped the Macho Man of the contendership and have automatically given Owen Hart a title shot at SummerSlam to face Bret "the Hitman" Hart the current WWF Champion. Thank you."Diesel (c) fought Lex Luger to a double DQ
