How do you figure they’ll be in stores? Target isn’t going to stock a double bundle of these things. And their half assed website will probably never get things right either Then go pay $50 for it 🤣 I’ll pass. But to act like they’ll be in stores, when it’s been announced GameStop isn’t carrying them and Target is selling as a bundle is a stretch.

lol @ another cancelled line. smh. we just cant win. Mattel is turning into a joke, their distribution of these figures is downright horrible (I would expect distribution problems from a smaller, independent not a big a$$ toy conglomerate like Mattel) and they keep cancelling lines one after another. For those that collect figures from other toy lines from different companies, have you ever seen a company cancel as many lines as Mattel has?! It’s not Mattel’s fault GameStop is almost dead

How’s that a distribution issue? GameStop has had all the past figures, but people aren’t buying them until they are put on clearance for $5-$10. I picked up my doubles of Michaels, Hacksaw and Flair for $5 each. That’s not a distribution issue when all the figures are on the shelves yet being sold for 50%-$75% off the price. 100% this You could point the blame at Mattel all you want, but you’re wrong. I say it to comments about Mattel distro all the time, they’re not making figures to just sit in a warehouse and not be sold. GameStop wanted these and it was up to them to continue ordering and to keep the like alive. When everyone waits till the figures are discounted to 75% off, then what do you expect? Only one to blame here is the consumer. Wasnt there a thread a couple months back that spoke of precisely this? People were saying they wanted the Retrofest but would wait until they went on clearance at Gamestop. Others who were more in the know were saying that was a bad idea because Mattel would just cancel the line. Looks like they were right...

What stores are these you are referring to?! According to the info we have, they will not be available at Gamestop and Target (the apparent new home of these figs) will be selling them through their website. Are you talking about Target stores, discount stores or perhaps the new mini TRU stores that are supposed to open soon in the USA?!
My comment about distribution was referring to the constant problems Mattel seems to have getting retailers to carry these figures and keep them stocked on their shelves on a consistent basis. I don't know if Walmart and Target are both incompetent or that they simply don't care to stock these figures regularly but the shelves should have product on them throughout the year just like any other toy where you can walk in and find something on the shelf.
100% this You could point the blame at Mattel all you want, but you’re wrong. I say it to comments about Mattel distro all the time, they’re not making figures to just sit in a warehouse and not be sold. Mattel is to blame IMO for allowing them to sell the figures at such a low price (at $5. they are basically giving them away for nothing) as this devalues the product- does it not?! Yeah, I know Mattel sells to the retailer and then they can do whatever the heck they want but that is wrong IMO. If they are going to allow elite figures to be sold for such a low price then why not allow dollar stores to sell them as well?!
Also, the blame should be on GameStop more than on the consumer- why are they discounting the figures so heavily?! People are waiting to buy them on sale because they know that Gamestop is going to heavily discount them at some point so why pay full price today when in a short while they will be available for 50% or 75% off?! Its no wonder this company is headed for bankruptcy as they don't seem to know what they are doing.
Most of the figures I have purchased have been bought at full price or close to full price. Clearance sales are foreign to me as I have never see one here in Canada in the time I have been collecting these figures. Walmart has regular sales but only once in a blue moon and TRU (where most of the figures I bought at retail were purchased) had 25% sales on a regular basis and once in while they would have a 30% or 40% sale but no bigger discount than that. I was stunned when I read posts on here about these crazy sales you guys get in the USA, most recently this $5 GameStop sale or the clearance sales at Walmart.

Sure it is, they are the ones that decided to do business with them. They should know something about the companies they deal with like whether they are on solid financial footing and thus will be able to pay them for the products they are going to be purchasing from them.

This is such arm chair quarterback thinking. Try explaining to shareholders that stores want figures but you won’t give them to them. That will go over well. TRU owed companies hundreds of thousands of dollars but was still getting figures because you gotta get your products in stores, companies want GameStop to survive cause it’s another outlet. You lose TRU, Kmart, and GameStop in short order and you really are just left with Target and Walmart who have their own troubles. You guys all bitch about store exclusive lines and they have their disadvantages sure but look at the other side. Without them we get less figures! More elite series you scream! While you do that and it guarantees stores will get less sets in than they do now plus if you have a lineup that just doesn’t click, then a store sits on product for months. So many of these lines suffer the same exact thing you guys just all wanna blame Mattel. My Target is still loaded with Antman and Wasp Marvel legends and Black Widow from Infinity War.

I never said that Flashback 3 would hit discount stores ... in fact, I’ve always said the exact opposite. See, NOW you’re just grasping at straws 🤣 All hail Ryder & Hawkins 🥃 Btw, hit that 50 post mark yet ? Gald to see you’re embracing our “wrestling figure gods” Ryder and Hawkins are definitely in the know and have relayed news several times that has turned out to be true. So go ahead and keep searching those retail stores broski! 💯💯💯 Spoken like a true local scalper ... Maybe we shouldn’t search retail after all, when someone could just hit up your local flea market spot and pay twice as much, right ? Youre pathetic, hwa205 🤫

If you want to continue to get figures like this, support the line and buy at full price. Sure it’s great to get a deal, but it’s dead because people didn’t want to spend the 22.99 and knew GameStop would clearance them out.

If youre waiting for it to be on clearance, its more like "I want it...but at the same time, I dont really want it". Weve seen so many collectors demand Legends then balk at the price when they come out.

These ppl looking to save $5-$15 are the reasons stuff peg warms for months until clearance happens. Quit being cheapskates and pay the price, otherwise move on from the toy buying world if you’re living pay check to pay check. Simple!!

They were never worth $24.99 to begin with. Flairs robe is nice but so was the original DM and it had a title belt with it for the same price. Until they added soft goods these were regular elites in fancy packaging that like 5 people agreed they’d pay for. GameStop’s price for figures is dumb high and I never pay full price for one. They’re a garbage business that can’t and won’t last. Vintage Stock is much nicer and has more than ps4 and Xbox games....

Well with that explanation you can’t be upset when GameStop is a thing of the past.. but hey, I’m sure you’ll be able to find some of those retrofest figures at a local yard sale 12 yrs from now for $2 ea!! Good thing you waited it out.👏👏👏

While i am highly against paying $70+ for a new figure from scalpers, i have no problem paying $25-$35. I bought Perfect and Sheik each for $35 ea. Considering shipping can be up to $15 domestically, i consider that a pretty good deal.

Same thing with Entrance Greats Goldberg and the ring version. Told myself that’s too high and their garbage marketing plan failed on me. When I saw Goldberg for less than $15 I went ahead and grabbed it. You can call it whatever you want, and call me broke or I should “get another hobby,” but I’m telling Mattel with my wallet that some of these prices and tactics as bs. I’m not gonna just roll over and overpay for crap so we can keep getting bent over. “Yes daddy Mattel, can I please have some more overpriced crap? I’ll gladly pay double for it....” It drives me insane. People telling Mattel how much more they would spend and blah blah blah about less articulation and more money. It’s like you guys love exposing your weaknesses so they can fully take advantage. Well here’s my consumer report. I AINT PAYING MORE THAN $19.99 FOR A LITTLE PLASTIC MAN. You’re more than welcome to. Go ahead and put premium in the car too and order crab legs while you’re just blowing money

No it isn’t. Mattel is in this to make money and they don’t care who it comes from. It’s not their fault GameStop is dying just like it’s not their fault Toys R Us died. I get you’re upset your toy boxes aren’t all the same shape and have different logos but you’re crying over spilt milk while trying to blame someone who didn’t spill said milk.

Not sure what you are rambling on about but my beef and the source of my frustration is in how difficult Mattel has made finding these figures. These are not high end or limited edition collectibles, they are mass produced crap from China and should not be this difficult to find IMHO- especially in this day and age. I don't really care one way or the other about these Retrofest figs- if I find the Mr. Perfect figure great, if not then I can live without it just like I have done with many other figures I have missed out on. Its just frustrating that one has to go to such difficulty to find these figures- LJN, Hasbro & Jakks figs were all much easier to find than these damn Mattel figures are and I don't understand why?!
