Ah I see. Jesus... frighteningly careless stuff. I'll have to rewatch this episode after work I think. I may be misremembering about the rehearsal using the older clip. I know they said Owen refused to do the rehearsal because they had done the stunt before. A few things that the documentary left out: Vince and Kevin Dunn fired the original guy that had worked with them before on the stunt. According to Martha, they thought that it took Owen too long to get the harness off in the ring and they thought it looked dumb. That's why they switched to the newer clip. The professional they hired told them it was too dangerous to do it the way they wanted and that someone would get seriously hurt. Vince and Kevin Dunn told him his services were no longer needed because they couldnt pay him the $5,000 he asked for. They hired someone that claimed he was the lead designer of the stunt that did Sting's entrance for WCW. He wasnt the lead designer, he just worked on the stunt. After hearing this, the original guy came back and said he would do the stunt for free as long as they did it the right way. The WWF declined his offer. That's what lead to the accident. I'm always confused when I hear the part about WWE officials wanting the quick release mechanism because the previous stunts took too long. Exactly what other times are they referencing? As far as we know, Owen only did a similar stunt ONCE before when he repelled that time on Sunday Night Heat and was attacked by Steve Blackman. He never even detached from his rigging and was raised back into the rafters immediately afterwards. Never understood the whole "all of his entrances take way too long" argument as it is pretty well-documented that Owen only performed the stunt twice: the Sunday Night Heat episode in late 1998 and then at Over the Edge. What other time before the accident did he do the stunt and have to actually release himself from his rigging? Pretty sure that never happened.

Just a heads up humanoids, I've read the producers/Vice are all aboard for season 3 with talks happening now about stories but with COVID19 still out there they cant film anything right now as this show involves a good amount of travel.

It's a lot of hearsay and he said/she said, and I to be honest I don't know who or what to believe. That's why I largely stay away from this topic. All I do know (with 100% certainty) is that this was the darkest day in wrestling, and it was not intentional. To even hint that it could be, is absolutely awful.

I’d like to see an episode on Marc Copani/Muhammad Hassan. Guy is an Italian-American who played an Arab-American. The gimmick started well as he played an Arab-American who was discriminated against in the post-9/11 years. It was a twist on the overused “foreign heel” gimmick as in a way, Hassan was a face despite his heel tendencies.
His character was never a terrorist...until the WWE decided to have a bunch of masked men attack the undertaker with piano wire in a poorly-written segment (that aired the same day as the London-subway bombings). All of a sudden the WWE was getting heat from UPN and news outlets, and rather than stand behind their performer and accept blame for the segment, the character was quickly written off TV and Copani soon left the wrestling industry when it became clear that he would never be able to get away from that gimmick.
I’ve read he’s the principle of a school now but I’d love to hear his thoughts on how his career died pretty quickly because the WWE wrote one terrible segment that didn’t fit with his character what so ever.

Why a story on Collision in Korea?? I don't recall anything negative about that event, unless I am getting that one confused with another wrestling event??

I don't recall anything negative about that event, unless I am getting that one confused with another wrestling event?? Im guessing it will be more political aspect of the trip. Going to Communist N. Korea where wrestlers were pretty much told "we cant guarantee your safety"....you're in a country that essentially hates Japan (NJPW) as well as America (WCW). Inoki was heavy in Japanese politics at the time. Here's a pretty good article/interview about the trip that some wrestlers talk about.... www.si.com/extra-mustard/2015/04/27/muhammad-ali-ric-flair-oral-history-pro-wrestling-north-korea

When he attacked Boss Man on TV he screamed ''how does it feel Boss Man!''. You think he said ''How does it feel McMahon!'' in that voice of his?
