Tugboat was cool but thank god for Sgt. Slaughter... I feel they should have had Tugboat turn on Hogan instead of the Bushwhackers, it would have had a bigger impact in my opinion, especially after he and Hogan fought each other in the Rumble in 1991 with Tugboat trying to eliminate Hogan and Hogan actually eliminating Tugboat. I do wish that Tugboat could have lasted a little longer so we could have gotten that Hasbro figure of his. They also teased tension in that battle royal on SNME post Mania VII. That would've been a good time to form the Disasters with him turning on Hogan.

This happened a bit before I started watching wrestling. Having watched parts of it seems like a good feud. My perception of earthquake was always that he was a guy to beat not THE guy to beat but he seems to have been booked strong throughout the Hogan/Tugboat feud. Would I be right in thinking that Earthquake was never pinned throughout this?
On a side not was never a fan of Hogan. I hated the predictability of him coming out on top. But watching this, it made me think that regardless of the outcome, he could sell like crazy and could make you believe that whoever he was feuding with, that they were the biggest threat he’s ever faced.

Yeah looking back I don't recall Quake being pinned on Tv during the feud. It was usually DQs and count outs. Loved the way he was pushed as a monster during this time.
And I'm not an Hogan fan either but damn he could sell his a$$ off and make his opponents look like a million bucks. He excelled at that.Just the way he was clutching his chest on the stretcher post Quake attack. Selling 101.
*edit* Also welcome back nibs92! Haven't heard from ya in ages brother.

Did Tugboat and Dino Bravo have a ono on one match during the feud? I know they they tag team matches They did wrestle each other a bunch in singles matches at house shows in 1990 and early 1991. I believe one of their matches made it on Prime Time Wrestling in early 1991.

One match I recall is during a televised MSG show circa Fall 90.

As a kid Tugboat seemed like one of those characters that was always on TV nearly every week be it Prime Time, Superstars or whatever I think that is why I liked him so much. Plus when he would come out from the curtain he was always on and pretty hyped up during his entrance. I really think that him and Earthquake belong in the hall of fame as The Natural Disasters, but both guys are deserving in their own right.
I think that had they gone the "Shiek Tugboat" route like Bruch Prichard says was the plan that I would have hated it. Also, was he actually going to be called, Shiek Tugboat? Would he still wear the same pinstripe costume, but with a turban?

Yep according to Bruce the original plan for the Iraqi sympathizer gimmick was gonna be Tugboat aka ''Sheik Tugboat''.My guess would be they would change the red and white stripes to black and green. A turban would've been definite.
Like MKSavage said, Thank GOD for Slaughter coming in and getting the role instead.

Bossman Heenan family was great but Rude leaving really took some air out of it for me. Was it even going to be against the entire Heenan Family or was Bossman-Rude going to finish at WM VII? I don't think I ever heard.

Big Boss Man vs Heenan Family
It was during the Summer of 1990 on Prime Time and Wrestling Challenge in which Bobby Heenan would keep ripping on the Boss Man about his mom. Classic heel insults by the Brain here. This would lead to the Boss Man snapping that Fall in which he handcuff Bobby to the guardrail. The selling by Bobby was fantastic.
This officially started the feud with the family with Boss Man/Rude being teased but not going to far as Rude would leave in October.I remember being disappointed as a feud between these two had me invested.
From there Boss man would go through Haku and Barbarian respectively before setting his eyes on the crown jewel Mr Perfect and his IC Title at WM VII.Decent match here but I still don't understand why Boss Man didn't get a little run with the belt here. All the torment/obstacles he had to go through to finally triumph in the end would've been a good end to this feud.
Overall...Even though Rude left and Boss Man didn't win gold, This feud was still entertaining.Heenan was gold in the antagonizing role. The appearance by Andre at Mania was a nice treat since we didn't see em on WWF TV in nearly a year.
