Such a shame looking back on that first title run for LOD in the WWF.They win the belts at SSlam to big fanfare and their only feud post that is this one here.Like I said I enjoyed it but man so underwhelming.

Nice feud here, but it could have been better. We probably would have gotten LOD vs Disasters at WM8 for the belts, probably in a no DQ no Count-out match. I would bet that LOD would win, though, I could see the Disasters winning by interference which would set up a rematch of LOD vs the Disasters at Summer Slam 92 at Wembley. I would imagine LOD would win the belts here, finishing the feud. But, since Hawk failed the drug test, all plans were changed. I wonder why they didn't have the Disasters take the belts off of LOD at the House show instead of Money Inc. setting up a rematch when LOD returned. They could have done an angle where the Disasters hurt Hawk when taking the belts, when he returned at WM8 or Summer Slam, they could have taken the belts off of the Disasters in a big triumphant return. I wonder if LOD didn't have their issues, would Vince had gone out and signed the Steiner Brothers?

Excellent write up Brain.
What a match that was in Japan. Much more edgy than what you would have seen in America. Loved the outside brawling at the start and when Hawk got slammed through a table. Seemed to get a huge reaction for the sumo square off between Earthquake and Animal (and was kinda funny hearing the commentators refer to ‘Quake as John Tenta). At the finish, I thought Animal was going to put Typhoon on his shoulders.
Thanks for posting.

I wonder if LOD didn't have their issues, would Vince had gone out and signed the Steiner Brothers? The tag division during that time was hurting so I guess they thought turning ND babyfaces was the best option. It's a shame they didnt get a longer run as a heels though with them getting the belts at that house show with them locking back up at Mania against LOD with Ellering at their side like you mentioned. All things considered though I didnt mind how it turned out in the end with Money Inc taking over to feud with ND.It was a simple story with Jimmy selling them out for the newly formed team.If they didnt wanna keep the Disasters heel then going this route was the best option. As far as would Vince sign the Steiners if LOD was still around, I know I would still. It will enhance the tag scene that's for sure.Imagine those two for the belts at a Mania.

LOD vs The Natural Disasters was good while it lasted. It was funny though after Earthquake and Typhoon won by count out at RR92 they thought they were the champions. Don’t they know the rules?

I could never get behind the Natural Disasters, especially Earthquake as a face, they were always bad guys to me. This was a fun feud with two big monster teams just smashing the hell out of each other lol.

Coming up is the first wccw feud discussed and how appropriate it’s the one that put them on the map! Looking forward to that right up.

Von Erichs vs FreebirdsThis legendary 80s feud would begin on Christmas night way back in 1982.It was there at Wrestling Star Wars in Dallas in which Ric Flair would defend the NWA Title against challenger Kerry Von Erich inside the cage. Michael ''PS'' Hayes would be the enforcer for this one. This seemed like a sure thing Kerry would capture the gold but oh boy were we wrong.Near the end of the match with both guys spent/bloody Hayes would deck Flair with him the cheering on the Von Erich to capitalize on by pinning em. Hayes would then throw a bloody Kerry on Flair but Kerry would roll again in defiance as he didnt wanna win that way.As Kerry went for the door to escape for the big win, Terry Gordy would slam the door in his face and with this one of the greatest 80s feuds was born. What made it more shocking was earlier in the show both Hayes and Gordy won the 6 man belts with David and here they are stabbing em in the back by costing Kerry. Just awesome all around storytelling here. This match would also cause a riot there in TX. The crowd was livid to say the least. This match is a masterpiece. What we would see next is an iconic feud that would last a good 4 years. David would give up his 6 man belt post the cage match with the Freebirds keeping as Buddy Roberts was the replacement. They would trade back these belts many, many times. This entry I'm gonna let the footage do the talking as every time these two got in the ring it was magic. When you talk 80s feuds this one gotta be near the top. It's the feud that put WCCW on the map and rightfully so. Overall...Yeah this one is up there.Classic in every sense of the word.

This feud was so hot that according to Gary Hart, you couldn’t get within 2 miles of the arena when the Von Erichs vs The Freebirds headlined a show.

Yokozuna vs EarthquakeThese two big men first encountered each other in early 93 in the Rumble match. The pop when these two locked eyes late in the match was great. In the end Yoko would throw out the big Canadian.Fun fact for you humanoids though they would actually have a match at a house show in Nevada a day prior to this. Following the Rumble they would have a match that was filmed for Coliseum Videos ''Invasion of the BodySlammers''(fun tape) in which Yoko would pick up the win.Quake would leave the WWF following this match but these two werent done with each other yet.In the Spring of 94 they would collide once again but this time in a way different setting that being a sumo match.I liked how Quake's real life sumo background was finally brought to light here.Quake would prevail in this one but the feud would end soon after as Quake left the WWF once again. Overall...Not much to this feud here with the sumo match being the main portion of it.Like I said it was cool to see Quake's past in sumo acknowledged. You can tell he had fun doing that.

It was a good big man feud but yeah not too memorable. It’s funny how someone said Earthquake beat Yokozuna in his own game when John Tenta was a real sumo and Rodney Anaoi wasn’t.

Shane Douglas vs Ric FlairFor years in ECW Shane Douglas would proclaim his hatred for the Nature Boy. He didnt throw down the old NWA belt in 94 for nothing thats for sure. For these two to finally clash in the ring we would have to wait to the new millennium. It was there in WCWs final year in which these two would collide during the ''Milionaire's Club vs New Blood'' feud. They would face off for the first time on Nitro that April but the match would end in DQ.WCW sure loved those. From there at Spring Stampede Douglas and Buff Bagwell would defeat Flair and Luger but the big showdown was still on the horizon. That would come at Slamboree that year in KC with Douglas picking up the upset win. Nothing special here as it was more about Flair/Russo than Flair/Douglas. This would end the feud as Flair would feaud with Russo/son David and Douglas would go on and feud with the Wall of all people. Overall... It was cool to see these two finally in the ring together after Douglas was ripping on em for years but it still felt flat with how bad WCW had become.Plus it was all about the MC against NB.Imagine if Flair showed up in ECW in 98 to confront em.That wouldve been a great moment.

Didn’t Shane want to wrestle Flair in ecw in like 94 at the spectrum? The feud in wcw 2000 was based off real life heat from 1993 when Flair supposedly held Shane back as he didn’t see him as a star. Flair I believe was booker from 93-94. I liked the little feud in 2000 but I don’t think Flair was into it and that’s why it was short and not memorable. In a RF video shoot interview Flair was asked if he was supposed to have a match with Shane at TNA’s ecw ppv. Ric said something to the effect of “Never, why would I want to work with the checkout boy at Target”.
