Thanks for posting man I love these old event center things. They get you more pumped up for a PPV than a whole episode of RAW manages to do these days!

Mean gene could make you want to watch any match with these. Great graphics and the event theme playing in the background building over the weeks up to the event - so much more effective than X saying I want a match with Y next week at the PPV and then the outcome and result all being forgotten by the next raw /smackdown.

Nobody could hype a PPV like Mean Gene could that's for sure.

The 89 Survivor Series, Martel was on Boss Man's team a Slick protege but i can't recall if he was still managing Martel then and it was just s coincidence that Martel was on Slick's team or not.

This was the last time he managed em I believe. When 90 rolled around Martel was on his own with him doing those fashion segments and that brief feud with Beefcake that pretty much went nowhere.

I'm surprised that feud didn't go anywhere, I would have imagined the crowd would have gone crazy every time Brutus tried to cut "The Model's" hair.

It was a weird one as they started the feud in January with them announcing Beefcake vs Genius for the Rumble outta nowhere. It should've been Beefcake vs Martel at the Rumble with them starting the feud with Perfect on the SNME right after by having Brut-I face Genius on that show.

They could have had the Genius in the Rumble and let him come in when Warrior and Hogan were down after their showdown.

Dusty Rhodes vs Macho King
This feud kicked off at Royal Rumble 90 during the Brother Love segment in which he had Queen Sherri and Sapphire as his guests. Good segment here with both Love and Sherri playing the heels to perfection. This would lead to both Dusty and Macho getting involved in the end which would set in motion what was billed as the first ever mix tag in company history at WM VI. The strong point of this whole feud IMO was the promos leading up to it especially with Savage being intense...
The match at Mania was nothing to write home about. The highlights being Jesse ripping on the faces on commentary and Miss Elizabeth returning after nearly 8 months. My favorite segment of the feud would come on Superstars post Mania in which the King and Queen would attack Dusty and Sapphire on an episode of Superstars. Very well done here. A crazed Macho is always must see TV...
The feud would continue into the Summer months but was nearing it's end after they started going into a new direction with the whole ''Who is Sapphire's secret benefactor?'' They would meet at SSlam in their last high profile match together in a short match with the whole purpose being to officially start Dusty's feud with Ted DiBiase. Good transition here though as this feud definitely ran it's course by this point. They would meet one more time on SNME that October but again it was more of a backdrop to his current feud with the money man.Serious Dusty during this time was so refreshing. Great throwback to his NWA days.
Overall... Even though this feud never had that one great match I still enjoyed it for the promos alone. Looking back it's sad that only Brother Love is the only one living from everyone involved . Fun feud during this era of the company that I was invested in.

Great feud. But like you said, too bad they never had a classic match to go with it. Most of what made this feud was the promo's and segments on Superstars (when Savage and Sherri would attach Rhodes and Sapphire). Also, Jesse on the mic for all of it was great too. Good work by all four, five if you count Brother Love's involvement in the feud.

That mixed tag at WM VI is one of the few matches I skip during my Mania binge. 3 outta the 4 participants deserved a much better stage.

Great write up.
I was all in with this as a kid. I liked both guys, but even as a heel I loved Savage. The Superstars segment you talked about was pretty shocking to see back in the day.
