Has to be Elite!
Other than that is has to be an attire of a wrestler I like.

I collect mostly women's figures but I do also collect certain flashbacks and suited figures.

I stopped buying people who have passed away. I play with my figures and just can't stretch my imagination enough to include dead men. I have a few, but those were from when I was just collecting anything and everything WWE. Like you slowed it down due to having a wife and 3 munchkins. They love the figures and play all the time. That's funny. I had an idea to have those who passed away into their own fed. The HWF, Heaven Wrestling Federation. Then after a year or 2, do a brand split with the second HWF, Hell Wrestling Federation.

Elites and Ultimates: Golden Age-Attitude Era with my cutoff being WrestleMania X7, when Austin turned heel. I stopped watching right around here. I collect every Elite/Ultimate released from this era, with no quantity rules or anything like that.
Retros: All.
Try to buy as many MoC to ensure condition, but I open them all up.

Depends on the series. For regular Mattels, it has to be either an indie guy I've never had a figure for before. Or it has to be someone I'm a big fan of currently(that I DESPERATELY need).
With Retros, I just bought them all because I loved the series. Will be doing the same for AEW.
But I never ever get basics, besides one here and there. Not a fan of basics at all.

I used to get everything but ran out of room. Now I’m picking up one of each person unless they have a gimmick change or look. Unless it Undertaker then I buy two one moc and one loose.

Legends, started basics and elites loose, then loose for basics and 1 loose and 1 MOC for elites but that got too expensive, now basics loose and Elites MOC. Started collecting about 5 years ago at first WCW roster then it spiraled out of control into pretty much all legends, but it’s a great hobby and a great line to collect.

The only people I buy in different attires are Shawn Michaels, Trish, Lita ,Goldberg and Rock. Aside from people on NXT 2007 is my cut off for buying figures except the above.

Rule 1: Bodytype needs to be accurate to the person it represents. So no skinny Bryan, no mick Foley until they make hin at Triple H's height he is a no.
Rule 2: only relevant people for me. I dont have much space to display wwe figures so dont expect to find Ryder, Nakamura or Owens on my shelves.

If i like it i buy it, only buy Elites and they have to be MOC. I might buy a basic or ultimate edition if it's an exclusive or if it's of someone i really want.

If I don't display, pose or otherwise enjoy a figure anymore I trade it or sell it to someone who will.

Elites only! ( Seems to be like the rest of you haha)
I just started collecting again and most pick ups have been older elite series that have been on sale! but I recently bought elite 75 Jeff Hardy and the scan and figure is soo much better! The rest look cartoony haha!

MOC only
Elites and above only (Ultimate Edition / Storm)
Try to limit the current wrestlers (Seth, Roman etc).
All Warriors, Hitmans and Machos (Same basically for Hogan)
I am in the chase game, have every dam one of them this far 😰
Always buy the RSC exclusives
Sell off if the preferred figure is released (e.g - I’ll be selling my Mark Henry elite 15 cause NOD Henry is coming)

Loose collection with accessories
Only duplicates are different looks of the same character (i.e. bandana Macho, Macho King and cowboy hat Macho).
Only Elite.

Since collecting Mattel figures I only collect from the Attitude Era and WCW. So basically anyone from the Monday Night Wars time period is in my collection.

I dispense with rules and buy whatever the heck strikes me as awesome.... really save multiples for horror figures since that is my bread and butter. With all this downtime though, I have started foaming at the mouth to buy some figures....
