That's the thing that's got to make it doubly sad for his family, is from here on out, the holidays will always have that attachment of the time of year that they lost him. I saw someone mention in the comments on the other site, talking about how at the Holiday Bash tapings, where Brodie Jr. 'won' the title from Omega. They were speculating, maybe the seriousness of whatever ended up taking his life was known to the AEW crew, and they did that as a way to try and give some cheer in some bad times. Now that we’re here, I think it was clearly done to make them feel better if only just for a moment. When I read about it last week or whenever it was, my first thought was “ohh maybe this means Brodie’s return is imminent.” If his family is there, surely so is he. Unfortunately, it was the absolute complete opposite. Yeah, the way things are looking, whatever the lung issue he had whether it was cancer or something else, probably took a bad turn around the time of when they did the tapings, and so they decided to do something for his oldest son, to maybe take his mind off of it for a brief moment, and maybe even to give Brodie himself a happy moment. |

This is horrific. I’m gutted. I hope his family can find peace. This is an absolute tragedy. As a father of 4 young kids, I’m heartbroken for them. I couldn’t imagine my kids not having me here!! As a fan, he was one of my favorites!!! |

I desperately hope they pay his downside guarantee and royalties to his wife for as long as his contract was supposed to be. If I died the only concern I have is about how my wife and two sons would get on without me, and Brodie was in the same position as me in terms of family. I only care about his wife and two sons at the moment. I hope to high Heaven they remain part of the AEW family and there's provision made for them by TK.

This is still so sad to me. This one hit me like Eddie did and when I saw the news I legitimately said “you gotta be joking man”. I always wanted more for Brodie when he was with WWE so when he came to AEW I knew he’d get the chance and I think he made his very brief run the best he could. I’ll never forget the dog collar match and the fact that it’s his final match makes it even more special. Hell of a talent and from everything I’ve seen an amazing human being

Literally stunned by this news. Always heard lots of hype about Brodie from his indy days, and was immediately sold on him in the Wyatt Family in NXT. Was always disappointed he was squandered in WWE, and it looked like he was finally poised to be a long-time main eventer in AEW. He helped turn the Dark Order from a joke to one of the most entertaining acts in the company in a matter of months. And always heard nothing but great things about him outside of the ring. This  ing sucks, man. This year ing sucks. |

This is utterly heartbreaking. I'm stunned.
I knew he hadn't been around for awhile, but I never would have guessed this was coming. And so close to the holidays too. Speaking from experience, losing a loved one this time of year can really make the holidays horrible for a long time to come.
I pray that his wife and children will be able to remember the good times and I send out my deepest condolences to his entire family, both blood and Wrestling.
RIP Mr. Brodie Lee.

Watching a Brodie BTE highlight video on YouTube. Such a bummer man. And the match with Hangman would’ve been a war. Can’t wait to see how they honor him this week on not only AEW but also all of WWE’s shows

This one feels a lot like when Owen died to me. I said that for whatever reason, Brodie, Owen Pillman & Eddie all kinda feel similar to me. Not in that the way they passed was the same, just how it feels. Their age. Their family being left behind. Having watched these men every week, week in and week out, hearing "shoot" style personal interviews or what have you.. it's creates this odd connection between "hardcore" fans (all of us here, I'd classify as that) and the performers. Mind you, not that psychopath connection where we are stalkers. But we feel like we have a bit of insight into who they are. Makes it doubly hard when one of em who seems so genuinely good, pass away. Ugh. |

It still doesn't feel real. Feels weird to grieve for someone I've never met, but that's part of what makes wrestling so amazing. I was lucky enough to meet Owen before he passed, but never got to meet or see Mr. Brodie Lee live.
Some really cool stories and tributes popping up. CM Punk is donating all of his proceeds from PWT over the next month to Brodie's family. While I'm 100% sure Tony and the entire AEW locker room is making sure Brodie's family never has to worry about his lost income, it's still a really cool gesture.
Bruce Mitchell can go f*** himself for that stupid article he wrote, and it makes me feel quite off that WWE is so petty they will only retweet memorials from their own company, and Braun had to have a memorial fan drawing edited to remove Cody (and the artist signature) so it was just the Wyatt family and he could post it. I was hoping we could set all that crap aside for something like this, but apparently not.
