I don’t need this era ddp anyways. I want the jeans look with taped ribs This seems to be the figure most of us have been wanting for years along with an updated head with big hair. Mattel seems to be listening to us more since Steve joined but stuff like this still baffles me. No one seemed to be asking for self help guru DDP but somehow we get him even tho many other better options still need to be made including the one a vast majority of us actually want. I agree that they're listening, but I don't know how much of that truly gets filtered into the line vs things that they already been thinking about. There were some comments from Steve to the effect of "really? Greg Valenting is who you're obsessed about?" when that was the figure that constantly came up in q&a's and comments here. They finally made it. But when Sting fell through, they double packed Razor - a figure people have been asking for in literally any attire but that blue they made - and weasel Heenan - which I don't think I have ever seen brought up - and left Hammer as the short packed figure. Look at how well Hammer did, and most of my stores still have Razor and Heenan. Jeans DDP is a really plain figure design wise. It's probably something that they either think won't sell or that Bill doesn't want to design because it's not fun for him. But it's the figure people want and will buy. |

Good, hopefully now this makes all of you so mad that I can actually get one!! Hahaha. I will proudly display him complete on my shelf - with the headset up his head hole.
Clearly some of you never had those WCW figures back in the day with the TWO GIGANTIC SCREW HOLES IN THE BACK!!

For the life of me I don't remember him ever wearing a headset, so I don't know if it was worth having a hole in the head....I don't think anyone would have complained "why doesn't he come with a headset!"....it is what it is, I guess. I guess you just don’t remember October 2001 to April 2002 then? |

Oh damn. Even worse. I got mixed up because I stopped watching around this time. Sting not coming over was a big bummer for me and some of my other favorites disappeared. Skipped TNA but maybe I shouldn’t have in retrospect. |

In a perfect world, there would be two head with this this figure: one with molded headset, one without (which is what I wish could be the norm for figures with ha'd accessories like this or glasses *COUGHBRETHARTCOUGH* or bandanas) but I understand that that's likely unfeasible budget-wise. That said, this realy doesn't bother me. TBH. I'd rather Mattel try something like this every once in a while to make something work.
Also, I've been banging the drum for jeans DDP as load as anyone (specifically Starccade 97, but any late 97-spring 98 look will do)) but I admit I do chuckle at the thought that if that look was in the thread, there'd be 10 threads already complaining about it being in a Target exclusive set. I just hope it comes as a regular mainline Elite at some point.

With them always saying how expensive the cost of new tooling is you’d think they wouldn’t want to dip into that budget with such an insignificant accessory. I remember the earpiece but it wasn’t something he wore all the time and I believe stopped wearing altogether shortly into that gimmick. |

This forum can be so sad and pathetic at times. It’s a toy! This type of thing has been in/on many toys from many different toy companies. You’ll barely notice it and it’s for an accessory that Mattel went the extra mile to include. People get so sore when their version of a character hasn’t been made. I can tell you that I am someone that did want this version so THANK YOU Mattel!

People talking about barely noticing it lmfaooo. I mean, after all... it's only good for those that really only collect wrestling figures just for display purposes only and stare at it.
Weren't y'all the same kind of people to complain about Rhyno's elite being too bulky?
Again, for those that does figure photography and poses them around and stuff, this a big no no. Sure, you can go ahead and use the clone stamp tool in Photoshop, but if you displaying these figure in poses doing wrestling moves and such, it's not good at all.
