I was thinking about all of the names that have been in the WWE main event scene over the years and I thought to myself, which one is the worst. Who's your pick for the worst WWE main eventer ever? We're not talking about people who were in the main event for a cup of coffee (Bob Holly I'm looking at you), we're talking about guys who were on or near the top of the cards for years. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of Ultimate Warrior. My pick is Cena because for most of his time on top he was Mr. Same Old Sh*t, and because hating Cena is basically my gimmick.

My pick is also Cena. We know he can do flips from when he had the blockbuster as a move earlier in his career, but he was too lazy to have a flip-based move set for his whole main event run, therefore I award him no workrates. Knowing Vince, the lack of workrates was the whole reason he got pushed in the first place. Also, he never wrestled for PWG or ROH, so he’s just a sports entertainer (insider term). Let’s also not forget all the would-be megastars he BERRIED, like Michael Tarver, Claudio and Ry “Definitely Psychologically Healthy” Back. At least Miro is now free from Cena’s reign of terror and is flourishing as a top star thanks to his own creative freedom.

I do hate how most of the Cena haters unironically talk like this, I just always found him boring compared to the other top guys of the time. He wasn't as cool as Edge, Orton, Michaels, HHH, Rey Rey, Batista, or Taker. He was the lame one out of the group. He definitely hurt the careers of Wade Barrett and Rusev. He pushed Bray Wyatt into the midcard for the next five years. Also he wrestled in jorts, so f*ck him (kidding kidding).

If he counts, Alberto Del Rio. He was a main event guy since he debuted and was absolutely awful. He had nothing to get excited about, and honestly Ricardo was more over than him.

I'm torn between Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, and Orton.

I know there will be shouts for the likes of Jinder Mahal, Great Khali, and Ryback, but in all honesty, they did their jobs. As terrible as they were, they worked as heels and not even smart fans would cheer them, because they were that bad. Ryback for example, was massively over during his run in the Main Event, despite where his career went from then on.
It's probably face Roman Reigns, to be honest. The difference between him and John Cena, is that while Cena was the clear representation of the WWE machine, he still related to the young audience, and had charisma and one of the best promos. Roman Reigns on the other hand, had all of the 'forced down our throats' direction that Cena had, but yet lacked any real individual look, was robotic on the mic, and yet was supposed to be the face of the company. This was then ramped up tenfold, when the all roads lead to Roman booking approach was applied in any desperate attempt to get him over. I don't think anyone has ever had the treatment he's had in history, and now, due to his stats and having Main Evented Wrestlemania's with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Undertaker and Triple H, he's just accepted for what it is now.
I'm glad he's finally heel, as he's so much better suited to that role. I wish he'd eventually break away from Heyman though, whilst remaining heel, as Heyman only makes him a 'cool heel'. I wish they'd have pulled the trigger sooner on him though, back when they were forcing him down everyone's throats. He's big and physical, doesn't have an entertaining moveset, and is generally quite serious and arrogant in his personality. He's a legit heel Main Eventer in every sense.

Guys like Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit.
I liked that they both won the WWE and World Title's respectively, but they really should have never been in the main event scene to begin with.
The proof is that after they lost their WWE and World Title's that A: they never won them back again, and B: they were put back down into opening match or mid-card feuds on PPVs again.

Also if that were actually true he wouldn't qualify for this. The question was for people who were in the main event scene for years, not a blip.

I can't narrow it down to 1, but there's a pretty solid final 4 of Warrior, Goldberg, JBL, and Del Rio.

Del Rio is a really good pick. He never actually got over as a main eventer, but if you look at his list of kayfabe accomplishments, he's been given tons of effort to be an all-timer. He never even came close to connecting with the audience and his matches were overwhelmingly forgettable. I think he'll be a guy history largely forgets because he simply wasn't memorable in any capacity. Which is insane with his WWE resume.
I want to say Goldberg, but at least he made money. He absolutely sucks as a performer, though. The Warrior formula clearly works, but Warrior's presentation was so much more special than Goldberg's has ever been. I've thought Goldberg was trash since the night he beat Raven for the US Title, and not a single thing has changed since that day. He had a great run leading to Mania 33, but all of that goodwill is a wash at this point imo. He never, ever, should have been out there with Undertaker at 50+ years old.

To be fair, Guerrero's WWE Title reign felt like years to me for how much it sucked. I was so happy when JBL ended his reign.

Some horrible picks. Cena, Orton, Roman are in the top half of the best list. I'll go Diesel since he was the golden goose during the worst period in company history. Business was down, rather in the toliet but big sexy didn't help matters. Bad promos, boring matches where he got gassed in no time, but he was big and too cool for school atleast.

I'm torn between Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, and Orton. How dare you disparage the name of Randal Keith, I'm lowkey mad anyone out there doesn't like him.

Either you don't like Eddie or you don't like how he was booked as champ, which is it?

If not, then yeah, warrior.
