Paul Wight is All Elite. Guess we’ll see the Shaq match finally lol They also announced their 3rd show Elevation which will air Mondays at 6pm (cst) on YouTube. As far as Wight goes, I'm cautiously optimistic. Him on commentary and as a coach is really interesting (I'd like to hear what kind of chemistry he has with Excalibur). Will he wrestle? I don't know. If he does, I hope he puts someone young over. Most importantly? Big Show is a lock to promote the GO BIG SHOW on TBS. |

I think it's great for AEW and great for the WWE.
Vince McMahon sees another guy - who he figured was a staple WWE star forever - sign with another company on his own.
It's great for Paul. He has a fresh start. Even if he does have a match or two, it will be different and interesting.
Plus in a way, Paul has returned home. AEW is on TNT. That's where Paul got his start at on TNT. I think it's great.
Congratulations to Paul Wight and AEW for this big move to shake the wrestling business!

Quite the swerve. I knew AEW said they weren't going out to sign old WWE talent but nobody expected them to sign OLD WCW talent. Scott Steiner still with Impact? Can't wait for that crossover.

Yes, I agree with that.
I don't think anyone knew Show's contract had expired and I think we all just figured he was WWE for life. If he had shown up on Dynamite to help Cody against Shaq that would have been huge!

The press release says that he will return to the ring. I think there could be some really cool matchups and interactions. And at his size, I think he could still put up some really solid matches in a limited role.
But I'm actually really excited to see what else he brings to the table. I know he had been pretty interested at one point at branching into acting and I remember some of his guest spots being really funny yeeeears ago. It seemed like WWE was never crazy about talent branching out unless it was in WWE-owned media like Total Divas or their movies. So I'm really curious to see if his personality can shine without being over produced and directed.

Finally he can breathe and be booked as a giant in the ring if he steps into it again. The man is a monster and should have always been booked as such. No comedy acts, no drama or crying acts. Just destruction.
