Hilarious to see people still asking AFA about the Kane arm knowing full well that he’s not going to respond I'm also surprised to see this.

Got the figure. Immediately fixed up the mask stripes, glossed the boots, and touched up some messed up paint spots. There was strangely some paint rub near the butterfly joint straight out of the box that I tuched up, as well as some mis-painted spots on the legs. Got it all touched up the best I could but I don't have the right shade of red for the elbow. I'm going to try and get some today. Not so much for the elbow, but there is another spot on the back of the leg where the paint is smudged and I need to see if I can touch it up.
Really, the figure is very nice but there's a lot of little touches that need done for it to really look good. Also, I don't know why, but the belt on CMW's version is backwards compared to mine. Mine has the single rows in front rather than the doubled ones. Wonder why.

in my experience, that super shine gloss on plastic i think gets gummier/stickier/slimier/secretes faster over time than the matte so the no gloss isn't accurate, and to avoid slime isn't the reason mattel didn't do it, but no gloss is kind of a silver lining i think. Factory gloss doesn't get stickier, but hobby (eg acrylic) gloss does. I've yet to find one that 100% doesn't get gummy after glossing up. But strangely, sometimes matte Mod Podge does go glossy. I can't figure out how, but it seams to be due to how diluted, the temperature and number of layers causing it.

I used the Vallejo Gloss Black on a pair of shoes almost a year ago and they still aren't sticky. Not sure past that though.
But I did once accidentally gloss my matte mod podge and it was so sticky that I eventually repainted the figure completely.

Having gotten this figure in hand, I honestly love it. Yes, the elbow is annoying, mask isn’t perfect, and he could be a little taller, but this is so much better than every other Kane we’ve gotten, with the correct boots (could be glossy but w/e), molded belt, etc. And that cape! Such a cool touch. UEs are basically the only Mattel figures I buy now outside some of my favorite newer characters, of which I pretty much have anyone I could want now. They’re not perfect, but they do still feel premium to me

I remember I used some Vallejo gloss varnish and Dvon’s boots just turned tacky. Is there any way to remove that stuff? I normally use testors glossy black and it’s fantastic. It’s not sticky or anything.

Should be the other way around for it to be accurate

Kane looks, really nice actually, I like the cape and general body shape. Elbow is a pain but, I thiiink I can maintain my OCD.

Elbow will be replaced according to Steve! (I don’t know how to include a screenshot 🤷🏻♂️)
Edit: It’s in the Steve Q&A thread

Maybe the non-stop complaining and "steve won't respond" comments can come to a close. He was awaiting the official fix to be in place before updating.
The question is now, does this boost ultimate Kane back to the top for everyone who said he was near perfect before realizing the paint errors?

Anyone have pictures of the mask issue? On the right side of the face, under the eye and next to the nose.

Bring back Brother Love so he can see the good news. Him and many others are busy eating crow at the moment. Give them time. 😘 great news overall, but unfortunately doesn’t really help MOC collectors Or maybe a phone call once the green light is given to CS will provide you with the running change version?

great news overall, but unfortunately doesn’t really help MOC collectors It shouldn’t matter one bit for MOC collectors, like myself. It’s not visible. I just ordered one the other day, and the issue means nothing to me.
