Yeah not sure how I feel about the Grimes. Honestly only collect Ultimates MOC so as long as they stay in the same packaging I’m solid.

I think this might as well be the end of MOC collectors, what's the point of having a box where you can't see what's inside.

Plastic free packaging would be terrible either way because it would lead to so so many swapped figures

They don’t need to be plastic free, they just need to switch out the plastic bubble for cardboard while maintaining a plastic window into the box. Just eliminating the plastic bubble shells that hold the figure in the box would eliminate literal tons of plastic from being made. Like you need a transparent material to see in the box.

I don’t understand the, this will fuel thieves arguments. This isnt going to creat new thief’s, the ones doing it were already doing it so we could see it, yes they will continue to do it but to think all of the sudden people are going to steal just because they are in full boxes is ridiculous.
Personally i just think we need a window or open front box to still see the item or security tape and hopefully stores wont except returns if the tape is tampered with. ( actually flawed/damaged, or a swap)

Good!! Long overdue, ive actually bought figures and been put off opening them all at once because of the damn packaging was so frustrating and sometimes dangerous, I once had a bit of plastic rip off and nearly hit me in the eye. I have detested plastic packaging for so long. Really delighted with this news. Also has anyone ever tried to open those Neca figures with the slim line plastic packaging that the clothed figures used to come in? There was no way to open them that I could find other than to cut through the plastic with scissors!!! How dangerous!

Due to reasons, I cant tell if you are joking or not, but I can sympathize with this sentiment if you aren't. I am rubbish with a blade and used to cut myself a lot while opening figures. Eventually, I invested in an oyster knife that I could use to shuck open basics and I have a small, dull-ish pocket knife that I use for elites and ultimates. I think I only cut myself once since I started doing that. With Mattel. As for AEW, I love the look of their packaging but I hate how hard they are to open. I keep scratching and cutting myself trying to get into them. I'm not saying switch to plastic free but I wish there was some way to make them easier to get into for klutzes like me.

Haha I Glad I’m not the only 1 who was like idk if I believe this or not. But honestly it may seem different but I actually use finger nail clippers to open any of my figures, yes finger nail clippers. I have my own separate ones for only figs, it’s literally the best thing, u slice open the tape part and then if they have those bands around the figure I just clip em off and then it’s easy to pull them out. Then I put the box back together and throw away. If I have a lot I just stomp them to flatten them out so I can have more room.
