What are things that irritate you since you have been collecting? I didn't think I would find things that agitate me when I started collecting but there are a few things.
1. I don't like it when figure websites post pictures of Target and Walmart reveals on their Twitter, but then when you look into it, they actually don't have any plans to sell them on their website, they just want to randomly post and get people's hopes built up.
2. I don't like it when there are limited figure releases like a Batista Ultimate Target exclusive or a limited Mattel Creations exclusive.
3. I don't like it when people brag on their YouTube or Instagram about how they got multiple of these limited figure releases.
4. I don't like it when people have to get two figures when they are so limited (one to keep in card and one to display). If you do have to get two, good for you, fair enough......but why do you have to go online, on social media and brag about it to the people who came up short on getting one? It makes those of us who came up short on getting one feel that much more dissapointed. (Sgt Slaughter Mattel Creations for example) Yes ok...you will say that I'm whining, but when you have to get two, and beat us that don't get one to the punch, it means that we have to pay double the price, sometimes in the hundreds if we really want it.
5. I never understand why people that already got a specific figure or more than one of the same figure have to get another figure just because it is on clearance. (Gotta get a deal guy I'm looking at you) Someone who doesent have alot of spending power, that is struggling in college, could be waiting and relying on their nearest Walmart to bring these prices down, and then someone else who got there first and has greater spending power unnecessary swoops them up just because well...."gotta get a deal, I have two already but I will ...ah I will use it for a custom"

I’ve read that title multiple times and I still am not sure what you’re trying to say.

I believe the title should be "pet peeves of collecting". For me, it's people who have difficulty titling their threads on collecting sites.

People that buy figures just to stick them in a tote, never to see the light of day, until they move, or die and someone has to dig through all their undisplayed crap.

- Absolutely hate painted skin on singlet figures. The first 5 of so years of Mattel doing WWE figs, skin was molded with a painted singlet. - Inconsistent packaging. Rectified now atleast for Legends and Ultimates.(Thank you Action Figure Attack) But so many figures I would have bought in the past if there was a consistent packaging strategy (MOC collector)

When it comes to action figures, I don't care how other people spend their money.

Pet Peeves for collecting: 1) Collectors who are ruining it at Target by calling every day and trying to get the clerk to find/hold that one specific figure. This makes the clerks less helpful in person. 2) Target not having Legends available by their own sell date that they promote on their site. 3) Target not having certain figures for sale on their site, marking them as store only, but also "not sold at this store" for every store in the region. 4) Guys who buy up the shipment just to go on social to sell at cost. Yes it helps people but what's the point? 5) Guys who are trying to sell current releases on big markups, over $50 for certain figures that are current. Not talking about RSC or other limited figures. 6) The argument about "Scanning Undertaker to buy Batista" and how it affected inventory. Those same guys can't comprehend why the target app says Batista is in stock but no one can find any in the store.
I could probably go on

I don't like it when there are limited figure releases like a Batista Ultimate Target exclusive or a limited Mattel Creations exclusive I'm in Canada. Not only do we get skipped over for regular releases we also don't always get Walmart and GameStop exclusives. My pet peeve in collecting is not have equal access to items in general. Still looking to find any sign of the Superstars series 1 line.

So much potential and so mind-boggling that most “bling” belt is the absolute dullest.

People accusing retail employees of stealing figures with no proof while collectors post toy hunting pictures and videos of themselves cleaning out the shelves and they get congratulated on a good job.

Pet peeves, where do I start?
1.) Scalpers 2.) Swappers 3.) Target exclusives (my nearest Target is an hour & a half away) 4.) Walmart’s endless supply of empty pegs 5.) Wwe pretty much only allowing Mattel to make the same wrestlers over & over (How many Warriors, John Cenas & Rey Mysterios do we need….I realize they sell but damn give some more first time in the lines a chance already) 6.) Having to wait for months & months at a time for preorders to be released when they’re packaged & ready to roll, we know this from seeing Moc pics way before they’re out 7.) A lot of people choose to use they’re money on multiples of the same figure but that’s not for me & I’ll never understand that logic either….Seriously it’s like, I gotta have one Moc, I gotta have one loose, I gotta have one for customization, I gotta have one to wipe my @$$ with …..wish I had cash to just throw away like that….but then again, I wouldn’t buy selfishly like that anyway, just take #1 then add it together here with #7 & it equals two of the biggest reasons why we can’t all find what we’re looking for in stores
I could keep going but I’m getting writers cramp

Store exclusives (eg. the Legends line) - I don't think people in the US realise what a pain in the @$$ these are for international collectors - not only do we have to pay the "ebay" or secondary market prices, but then there's international shipping and customs duty on top. So a standard $20 figure for you guys works out at about $60 for us... 🥴
Guys in the US complaining about store exclusives - see above, lol. At least you guys have a chance (no matter how small) at finding these figures. And you can often order them directly online (eg. Target) too.
People complaining about really small/minute details that don't affect the overall look of the figure (eg. "I can't believe they left that tiny circle off the side of his tights - it ruins the whole figure!!" 🙄). I honestly think action figure collectors must be the most fussy people on earth, lol - when I think of some of the figures I had growing up in the 80s... figures these days are mini works of art(!).
People complaining about YouTube-ers/influencers getting sent figures for free or in advance - I mean... what's the problem? They get sent them for a reason... most of time these videos/reviews are enjoyable, professionally-shot and well made - and obviously take a lot of time and effort to make. I don't understand the hate.

1. Store Exclusives
2. Online Store Exclusives
3. HBK's red hair
4. Highly desired talent/attires that get ignored, then the talent gets released
5. Buying 2 of the same figure, intending to keep 1 MOC, but they both arrive destroyed
